My mum moved into Berrycroft Manor into the small eight-bed unit and it has been a revelation. The previous care home she moved from was institutionalised, dowdy and just the complete opposite to Berrycroft Manor. Here you have a wonderful, modern, purpose-built environment but also very homely. More
importantly, the staff are wonderful - caring, professional, dedicated and genuine. My mum has been out for day trips and short trips to the shops more times in the two months than she has been in Berrycroft than the entire year she was resident at her previous "care home". I cannot praise the staff enough. I now enjoy coming for visits with my mum and being able to make a cup of tea or coffee with her in the kitchenette and there are always biscuits available!
A wonderful, five-star care home that I highly recommend to anyone looking to place a family member or loved one suffering from dementia.

My aunt recently passed away after residing at Berrycroft for several years, due to Alzheimer's disease. The staff were always professional, friendly and caring. The home was always clean, tidy and warm. I give Berrycroft my unreserved recommendation.

My mum lived at Berrycroft Manor for 4 years. She was shown kindness by all staff. When we visited she was always nicely dressed with her hair combed. Berrycroft Manor has the most amazing outstanding carers and the manager has looked after us with clear communication and compassion shown. Thank you
all Berrycroft Manor staff.

We have been very happy with the care given first to my father and now to my mother at Berrycroft Manor over the past few years. Apart from the excellent care to residents, the staff and management are also very supportive to the resident's families and are always pleased to help with anything we ask.

Our mother had exceptional care during her stay at Berrycroft Manor. She was not only looked after but the staff genuinely cared for our mother. Staff were attentive to her every need and catered for her as an individual. Everyone was wonderful. Communication was excellent, we were always updated on
our mother's health. Nothing was too much trouble for staff. Our mother was happy, safe and comfortable. Thank you.

The staff are very professional caring individuals, addressing my dad by name in a kind and gentle way which has gone a long way to helping him settle.
Prior to coming to live at Berrycroft we had tried respite care at another home who were unable to meet his needs.
The staff without exception deliver
outstanding levels of care and are also supportive of ourselves the relatives who have found it hard at times to cope with his deteriorating condition and feel extremely happy with the care at the home. We would have no hesitation in recommending this home to other people.

My mother has mixed dementia and had been living alone assisted by carers for some time. We were fortunate to get a place for her at Berrycroft Manor three months ago and they have been very helpful and welcoming there. Her physical health has improved greatly with their care and she is very content.
The home is well maintained and clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. The staff all treat the residents with attentive care and understand their needs well.

My family cannot express enough our thanks for the love and care the staff at Berrycroft give to mum. This year has been particularly difficult as mum's dementia has escalated so much and she is very prone to falls. The staff on Rose Suite have been particularly understanding and have shown her such
love and us such support. The residents are always clean and well-dressed and treated with dignity. The building is always clean and well-maintained and the staff at every level (carers, domestics, laundry, maintenance, cooks) are all so caring and friendly. We are sure that mum would not get better care anywhere else. We would certainly recommend Berrycroft to anyone looking for a home for a parent, partner or friend.

We put our father in Berrycroft about 3 months ago when he left hospital as he couldn't get around anymore. The care that he has received has been first class. We visit every day and we have seen that the staff are very cheerful and hard-working. Unfortunately, mum had to go in as a resident this week
as her Alzheimer's has got much worse and she has been made very welcome as well. We feel as though we are a part of a large family.

My father was a resident at Berrycroft Manor for 5 and a half years until he died in February 2016. He was well looked after and treated with the utmost respect.
Despite his deteriorating illness, which at times made him very bad tempered! He died in Berrycroft Manor and the staff could not have more
caring and helpful at such a difficult time.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.700)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.700) out of 10 for Berrycroft Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.879 for Berrycroft Manor is calculated as follows: ( (51 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 58 Ratings = 4.879
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.821 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Berrycroft Manor is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 78 registered maximum number of service users is 15.6. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 15.6 = 0.321
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
