This is the fourth week that my Dad has been at the Manor House - originally it was planned to be a two-week stay but he has extended it for several more weeks due to ongoing issues with his health.
I cannot fault the experience that my Dad is receiving from the Manor House. The staff are all attentive and friendly & the home's furnishings and ambience are lovely. My Dad's room is thoughtfully decorated whilst also catering to his mobility issues in the en-suite bathroom, including an effective non-slip floor in the walk-in shower. The gardens are well maintained with plenty of seating areas.

My Dad has some mobility problems and getting in and out of seating can be a problem. Yet all the areas at the Manor House, both inside and out, are accessible to my Dad and he is completely free to sit anywhere independently. To provide an inviting, pleasant space whilst addressing elderly residents' needs is not always an easy balance but the Manor House achieves this effortlessly.

I organised an afternoon tea with my friends and Marie who is currently residing at The Manor House Gosforth. It was so lovely, the food was exceptional, the staff so attentive and everyone had a lovely afternoon - one friend commented that you wouldn't get a better setting if you visited The Ritz. We all agreed. So thank you to Suzanne and all of the staff at The Manor House for making Marie's afternoon with her friends so memorable.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the staff at the Manor house in Gosforth Newcastle for their wonderful respite care they provided to our Mum.
From the moment Mum arrived she was treated with kindness, dignity and genuine compassion. The staff were always professional and caring taking the time to make sure she was comfortable and well looked after.
We were made to feel very welcome when we visited and always kept fully informed.
The Manor House was always clean, welcoming well maintained and every member of staff we met was friendly professional and generally dedicated to providing excellent care.
We are truly grateful for the support Mum received during this important stage of a recovery and we would highly recommend the Manor House to anyone looking for high-quality respite care or continuing long-term care.

Thank you again to everyone at the Manor House for making it such a positive experience.

My mother has been a resident of Manor House since April 2023. She has been very well cared for and the staff have responded very ably to her changing needs. All the rooms have been recently renovated and the garden is in pristine condition. The home now has two lifestyle coordinators who arrange a varied programme of activities for residents.

The Manor House looked after my Grandad for 4 years and were exceptional throughout the whole time. The staff were extremely friendly but more importantly patient and attentive to his needs throughout. The extra care needed for their dementia residents is fantastic and I would strongly recommend.

The facilities are also exceptional.

I am pleased to share this review on behalf of my mother, who moved into The Manor House in December 2025. From our very first visit, it was clear that The Manor House stood out as something truly special. The facility genuinely deserves its five-star reputation, not only for its impressive amenities but also for the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the staff. Every time you walk through the doors, you're greeted by friendly faces and engaging conversations, making residents and visitors alike feel completely at ease.

The Manor House features an open-plan layout, with spacious lounges that invite you to relax, read a book, or enjoy a chat with others. The absence of doors between communal areas gives a sense of openness and accessibility, thoughtfully designed to encourage interaction and comfort. Residents are offered a wide variety of activities, with a daily schedule shared with both them and their families. This has proven especially helpful when planning visits.

Both of my parents are in this care home, one of them is residing on the dementia floor and the other downstairs.
They are both looked after with dignity, care and compassion.
My father who is on the dementia floor requires a greater need of constant care, he is cared for very well, the staff looking after him are all very approachable and informative. He is always kept clean and smartly dressed and his room is kept clean and tidy. The staff are very good at caring for his dignity and personal space as well as caring for his everyday needs.
My mum, who resides on the lower floor is equally as well cared for, she has a wonderful social life, playing cards, scrabble and dominoes with her friends on a daily basis as well as the additional activities organised by the care home.

I would recommend this care home, it's immaculately clean, friendly and well run.

I moved into The Manor House over twelve months ago and the move has proved to be a big success. I have made many friends with both residents and care staff alike. But the main advantage, for me of living here, is a doctor visits the property each week to make sure all our health needs are met.

For over two years I have regularly visited my friend whom I have known for sixty-five years. When she was going to be moved to residential care I was quite upset. However, when I made my first visit I was relieved to find she would be well cared for in a cosy, homely and friendly atmosphere. Since then, I have always been welcomed with a friendly greeting or smile by management and other members of staff. There are many activities and outings arranged for residents, family and friends are invited to social events. I can't thank everyone enough.

Some of the social events that family and friends are invited to are:

Garden parties, Carol Services, some of which residents are linked with other groups in the choir. Carol singing around the Christmas Trees in the garden. Theme nights - very sociable events, and good fun. We have been to Greek, Italian, Indian, Mexican etc. Last year 'The Burns Night' included a 'Piper' who piped in the Haggis, tartan was worn and singing enjoyed. Such activities have not just been good for residents but for family, friends and staff.

Manor House is an exceptional care home. My mother became a resident in January 2024 and l have nothing but praise for how she has been welcomed into the home and cared for throughout the year. The special efforts made at Christmas time were l am sure appreciated by all those who were unable to join their families for the festive period.
The quality of the accommodation is equivalent to a 5-star hotel. The bedrooms are spacious with quality furniture and fittings and to be able to sit in beautifully decorated lounges or have a coffee or cocktail in the Cafe Bar makes visiting very pleasurable. The grounds are very well looked after, bringing colour and peace of mind to the residents.
Manor House is well-managed and the caring ethos permeates throughout the home.

Well done Manor House.

Mum recently stayed at The Manor House for a few weeks following hip replacement surgery.
From the moment Mum arrived she was wonderfully looked after with such care and consideration.
Due to complications following the surgery doctors and nurses had to be called upon and the Manor House dealt with this speedily and effectively.
All care staff were delightful, happy, and above all caring and we could not have asked for more.

Thank you to everyone for getting Mum back on her feet (literally!) and we would have no hesitation in recommending the Manor House to anyone.

Overall Experience
I stayed at The Manor House for a period of respite care, following hip replacement surgery. My stay was better than I'd expected in many aspects and much as I'd expected in others. As an overall summary, I'd say the experience staying there was a very pleasant one.
The food was well presented and of good quality. The general appearance of the internal of the building was first class, with tasteful furnishings and decor.
My only criticisms surround the laundry system, which seemed to be a little unreliable at times and the bed, which I found to be too firm, although I realise this is very much a personal matter.
The staff that I met were good, efficient and good-humoured.

My experience was very positive and if/when I have further surgery to replace my other hip, I will most certainly be hoping that I can once again stay for a period of respite care.

My mother has stayed at The Manor House on 3 occasions and as a family we have been delighted with the care she has received which was 1st class.
The warmth of welcome that was extended to her each time she has stayed was heartwarming to witness and Mum was clearly touched by this and all the kindness shown to her by all the staff during her time at The Manor House.

I would thoroughly recommend The Manor House for respite care for much-loved family members, it is a really wonderful place to be and to visit.

We needed to find our relation respite care straight from hospital at quite short notice and the help we received from the management team to get the care in place at The Manor House Gosforth was excellent. They expedited the process very effectively so that the room and service were available within a few days of my initial enquiry.
All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and professional and the premises are beautiful with excellent facilities and cleanliness. There are many activities on offer and although my relation did not want to take part, that decision was respected but regularly offered in case she had changed her mind.

Overall, I don't think we could have asked for more as a home-from-home.
