I organised an afternoon tea with my friends and Marie who is currently residing at The Manor House Gosforth. It was so lovely, the food was exceptional, the staff so attentive and everyone had a lovely afternoon - one friend commented that you wouldn't get a better setting if you visited The Ritz. We all agreed. So thank you to Suzanne and all of the staff at The Manor House for making Marie's afternoon with her friends so memorable.

Another beautiful afternoon tea provided by the friendly and attentive staff of the Manor House. Seeing our resident friend in such wonderful accommodation, with staff who obviously care, reassures us every time we visit.

My experience has been positive, and more importantly it has been for my mam. She was very nervous and reluctant to leave her home but was no longer able to manage. We were both struggling but the manager and staff were absolutely brilliant, not only with my mam but also with me. The staff are caring, kind, attentive and their interaction with relatives residents is really lovely. My mam and I have been so reassured and looked after so well she has now settled brilliantly. Thank you all.

Following a long hospital admission, we were extremely grateful to the manor house in Wickham for how quickly they found the respite care Mum needed. The whole experience has been excellent. My mother has been a resident of Manor House since April 2023. She has been very well cared for and the staff have responded very ably to her changing needs. All the rooms have been recently renovated and the garden is in pristine condition. The home now has two lifestyle coordinators who arrange a varied programme of activities for residents.

The Manor House is not only impressive on the outside it is even more impressive on the inside. Within 2 weeks of arrival my 92 year old severely sight impaired mother is happy, smiling, loving her beautiful new room and is taking part in activities. Management, care staff are so helpful and caring. Nothing is a problem. There are daily activities always encouraged. Theme days lots to do if you want to participate, hairdresser, nails, fitness. Mam is thriving. So happy we chose the manor house.

The Manor House looked after my Grandad for 4 years and were exceptional throughout the whole time. The staff were extremely friendly but more importantly patient and attentive to his needs throughout. The extra care needed for their dementia residents is fantastic and I would strongly recommend.

The facilities are also exceptional.

My Mum has been a resident at Manor House since September 2025, living in the Derwent area of the home. Making the decision to move a parent to a care home is very, very difficult but following Mum's increasing confusion, it had become necessary. Manor house has been brillant from the start- yes it took Mum a while to settle but the staff were so patient with her (and reassuring with me!) and after about a month, Mum was settled and content, in sharp contrast to the confusion and stress she felt before ariving as she was aware on some level, of her failing abilities. She thinks of it as a hotel and in some ways, it is! The set up is very attractive, it is immaculately clean (doesn't "smell like a care home") and the staff are terrific. I also like the range and frequency of the activities (mostly 2 a day) - pub quizzes, thai chi and the very welcome visits from the WAG dogs! She is also well catered for as she is vegetarian. In summary - as good as it gets!

I am pleased to share this review on behalf of my mother, who moved into The Manor House in December 2025. From our very first visit, it was clear that The Manor House stood out as something truly special. The facility genuinely deserves its five-star reputation, not only for its impressive amenities but also for the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the staff. Every time you walk through the doors, you're greeted by friendly faces and engaging conversations, making residents and visitors alike feel completely at ease.

The Manor House features an open-plan layout, with spacious lounges that invite you to relax, read a book, or enjoy a chat with others. The absence of doors between communal areas gives a sense of openness and accessibility, thoughtfully designed to encourage interaction and comfort. Residents are offered a wide variety of activities, with a daily schedule shared with both them and their families. This has proven especially helpful when planning visits.

The facilities are clean, well maintained and welcoming to both residents and visitors.

As my mother's health was deteriorating and she was dying, care staff showed my family and I a lot of compassion and empathy during our visits which was really appreciated.

We have used this care home since June 2025. The home is very well managed with a high standard of care. We have responsibility for an elderly resident and act as powers of attorney. We visited the home in summer 2025 to 'assess' its suitability. We had already visited several homes in the North-East. We were not disappointed, nor have we been since. The staff are friendly and caring. Food and nutrition standards are high on their list of priorities and medical issues are dealt with promptly and efficiently. The weekly organised events are varied and suitable for any and all residents All in all we are thrilled.

I had 2 falls in May 2025 after which I was unable to care for myself. I am 94. My nephew found this excellent home for me. I was in a very poor state mentally and physically. They have given me wonderful care. They have managed to increase my weight gradually to 6st 11ozs. The staff are marvelous.

The home is well managed. My Mam has been there about a year and has settled and made some friends. The staff are all very friendly and approachable if I have any concerns they are acted on quickly. The home is well maintained both inside and gardens.The entertainment staff try there hardest to please everyone with activities.They even organise a church service once a month which I thought was very thoughtful. You can also approach the management with any concerns.

I moved into The Manor House over twelve months ago and the move has proved to be a big success. I have made many friends with both residents and care staff alike. But the main advantage, for me of living here, is a doctor visits the property each week to make sure all our health needs are met.
