When my grandma moved out of her own home it was difficult to envisage her/the family ever calling somewhere else home but that is exactly what the Manor House became, a home. This was almost exclusively down to the incredible staff who worked there during her stay - they essentially became an extension of her family. Moving a loved one into a care setting can be unsettling, especially when they suffer from dementia, however, from my first visit I felt a sense of reassurance that the correct decision had been made. This feeling only grew over time again thanks to the staff who were not only professional and extremely skilled in their work but also caring, compassionate and warm. This was especially prevalent during my grandma's final days when their handling of a distressing time was exemplary. In summary, I could not recommend the Manor House highly enough.

As next of kin of a much loved cousin, once removed, who had always said "no care homes and no packages", at the age of 95 she decided that the time had come to be somewhere 'super duper' with interesting conversation. Manor House did not fail. To our amazement she settled very quickly, relieved from the increasing burden of running her own home. She quickly made new friends and appreciated having kind staff on hand if she had any worries or difficulties. Manor House is a very warm, welcoming and pleasing environment, where residents are treated with love and respect. There is always lots of laughter and an excellent choice in both menus and activities. The informative daily in-house newspaper was also much appreciated. Following a deterioration in health and hospitalisation our cousin was welcomed back to her now home in Manor House and the loving care she, and indeed we, received from both the staff and the local GP practise during her last days was wonderful.

The Manor House looked after my mam for 4 1/2 years and the care and love shown to her was exceptional. All of the family enjoyed visiting, as we always received a very warm welcome. If you need extra care for a relative with dementia, I would strongly recommend The Manor House, they go above and beyond to make the family feel welcome and feel confident that their relative is receiving the best care. I can't thank the staff enough for the support we received in Mam's last week at the Manor House, as a family we will not forget it.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the manager and the entire team at The Manor House for the wonderful care and kindness they showed my mum during the three years she has lived there.

My mum has recently passed away peacefully at the home, and while we are understandably heartbroken at her loss, we take great comfort in knowing that she was cared for with such warmth, dignity and compassion throughout her time at The Manor House.

The staff were always so caring and attentive and consistently went the extra mile to make sure Mum was happy, comfortable and well looked after. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble. What meant so much to us as a family was the genuine partnership we felt we had with the home. We were always made to feel welcome, listened to and involved, and we knew that Mum was in safe and caring hands.

We are very sad that our visits to The Manor House will now come to an end. Thank you for everything you did for mum. X

The Manor House has been a wonderful care home us as a family and we will always be grateful to them.

Food options are fantastic & residents are monitored well for fluid and food intake.

My mother is currently receiving convalescent care at The Manor House after a rather nasty fall. We could not be happier with the quality of care she is receiving. We have already extended the length of respite care.

The property is beautiful, the flood is nutritious and flavoursome but it is the staff who make this such a special and wonderful place.

My father recently became a resident at The Manor House in Gosforth following a deterioration in his dementia. The management were exceptional in the way they handled what was a very difficult and upsetting situation for our family. Their professionalism, understanding and support helped make the transition as smooth as possible.

The care staff have been genuinely caring, compassionate and attentive from day one, ensuring my father is comfortable, feels safe and is treated with dignity and respect. It is clear that they take their time to get to know each resident as an individual and provide reassurance whenever it is needed.

My mum moved to the Manor House after a fall last year and is resident in the dementia wing. All of the staff have been amazing since mum moved in. The activities and functions they put on are amazing. It is a pleasure to go and visit mum. I know she is well looked after and that she is kept entertained. Her room is so homely and comfortable. The staff are all so friendly and I look forward to my cuddles from Kayleigh whenever I am there. Honestly could not recommend the Manor House and the staff highly enough

The Manor House Whickham is a wonderful, beautiful and delightful home inside and out. The staff are first class, they are like family friends to the residents rather than staff. The accommodation is so comfortable and welcoming and the gardens are beautiful. Tasty healthy meals and a variety of activities.

My Dad has some mobility problems and getting in and out of seating can be a problem. Yet all the areas at the Manor House, both inside and out, are accessible to my Dad and he is completely free to sit anywhere independently. To provide an inviting, pleasant space whilst addressing elderly residents' needs is not always an easy balance but the Manor House achieves this effortlessly.

I organised an afternoon tea with my friends and Marie who is currently residing at The Manor House Gosforth. It was so lovely, the food was exceptional, the staff so attentive and everyone had a lovely afternoon - one friend commented that you wouldn't get a better setting if you visited The Ritz. We all agreed. So thank you to Suzanne and all of the staff at The Manor House for making Marie's afternoon with her friends so memorable.

Another beautiful afternoon tea provided by the friendly and attentive staff of the Manor House. Seeing our resident friend in such wonderful accommodation, with staff who obviously care, reassures us every time we visit.

My experience has been positive, and more importantly it has been for my mam. She was very nervous and reluctant to leave her home but was no longer able to manage. We were both struggling but the manager and staff were absolutely brilliant, not only with my mam but also with me. The staff are caring, kind, attentive and their interaction with relatives residents is really lovely. My mam and I have been so reassured and looked after so well she has now settled brilliantly. My mother has been a resident of Manor House since April 2023. She has been very well cared for and the staff have responded very ably to her changing needs. All the rooms have been recently renovated and the garden is in pristine condition. The home now has two lifestyle coordinators who arrange a varied programme of activities for residents.
