When my Mother passed on just after her 104th Birthday I was quite touched that her carers came into her room and said a little prayer over her; she had been there for a little over 3 years, as her needs were becoming more complex and although her skin was thin and easily bruised they were generous...
The food was varied and nourishing and she seemed to like the hot Chocolate a lot. The Nursing staff were kept busy with the variety of conditions presented and keen to help and encourage.
Excellent service, all staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

From the very first day, Mum was admitted to Ashton Lodge, all the staff, carers and nursing staff have been amazing. They made my mum feel at home and comfortable. Made sure if we weren't sure, to ask them questions about anything. They make you always feel welcome, nothing is too much trouble and you do not feel rushed. I am happy to leave my mum in such capable hands and I can go home knowing she is 100% being looked after properly.

I attended their various functions, the last being the Christmas Party a few days ago and you could see the passion and diligence of the care worker staff and I could see the resident's eyes light up with joy as it provided a diversion from the everyday routine!
I plan to also go for their Christmas lunch on 25th December and look forward to it indeed!
Bravo Ashton Lodge, may your endeavours go from strength to strength, onwards and upwards!

My 95-year-old mother, who suffers with dementia, has been at Ashton Lodge Care Home since 5th June 2023. She is being well looked after by the staff who are very friendly and helpful. She has a nice, spacious room with en-suite facilities and a large window overlooking the busy Kingsbury Road. I...
My father and I visit her several times a week and we are both treated with respect and attention when we visit.
Nothing seems to be too much trouble for the staff who display care and professionalism at all times. We know she is safe and will be well looked after by all the carers and nurses there.

The first thing I noticed was that her face was dirty, and her lips were so dry that her top lip was bleeding. Her ears were so full of wax the left ear was seeping wax. My mother's nostrils were filled with snot and dried bogies. Mum's socks were covered in faeces: I took pictures and showed the nurse on duty.
This always happens when I am away, as I see my mother every day, unless it is impossible to get there from Lewisham: 15 miles on bike or 1.5 hours minimum on the train.
I have given the nurses and carers the benefit of the doubt too many times, but this is the final straw.
I am now very worried about the care she is receiving and I am reluctant to leave her to look after her affairs abroad.
I had a great relationship with all of the staff at Ashton Lodge, but with a heavy heart, I have to say that they have lost my trust.
A response was sent with an apology for distress he experienced. We investigated all his concerns.
As explained,...
Ashton Lodge was contacted by the son, DC on the 3/7/23 to express his unhappiness with regards to his mother’s care while away on holiday. This is the complaint in your possession.A response was sent with an apology for distress he experienced. We investigated all his concerns.
As explained, his mother is very frail with full limb contractures which complicates movement. She is fully dependent for all activities of daily living including continence care which is scheduled 4 hourly or as required due to her management of constipation with laxatives.
With reference to the wax build-up in his mother’s ears, this is a procedure that is undertaken by the GP or the audiology clinic. This has subsequently been addressed.
We informed him that we were sorry that he felt he needed to find an alternate placement. Ashton Lodge has been providing care to his mother since 5/03/2018 and at her last Care review with NWL ICB on 13/6/23 no issues around care were raised.
Cannot say enough about the care and attention paid to my mother. From reception to staff on the second floor (probably the same all over) and management, just cannot thank the people of Ashton Lodge Care Home enough for all the kindness shown to my mom and family. Thank you.

My uncle has been a resident at Ashton Lodge for about two years and I have had the opportunity of visiting him at least once a month. Every time that I visited I noticed how caring the team at Ashton Lodge were. My uncle was always smiling and looking relatively good given his declining health. Also, the number of times I was called at home to be updated on some medication or vaccination that my uncle had to do was a clear sign of attention to detail and care. The friendliness and professionalism of the team has always been impressive. It really felt like being within a loving family. For sure the last two years of my uncle have been greatly improved by the kindness and care he received from the team at Ashton Lodge. For me as a visitor too the experience was never a frustrating or unpleasant one, in fact, quite the contrary. There was always a smile and a word of comfort. It is for sure an institution that I highly reccomend both for the professionalism and the humanity.

My father was placed here prior to covid. The staff at the home treated my father with respect and looked after him like he was their own father. Staff would ensure that my father was in touch with me on regular periods (organised visits, face time calls etc) and regular monthly calls from the nurse regarding my father's conditions or concerns. The room for my father was excellent, clean and tidy, the staff ensure that my father's dietary needs were met. I would highly praise the nursing home and its staff.

I have not viewed the food menu so I cannot comment. The staff I have dealt with in the office are very understanding. The nurses are reasonable but...

My mum got injured and I cannot get to the bottom of it. The home also admitted they cannot look after dementia patients. I have reported them to the health care ombudsman. Please do not let these people look after your loved ones.

My father spent 8 1/2 years at Ashton Lodge before he sadly passed away in February. During the entire time, the carers and management treated my father with the greatest of respect and dignity and always made sure he was comfortable. To us, it felt like he was treated by all the staff as 'one of the family'. My mother was a regular visitor - 3/4 times per week (pre-Covid) - and she was always accepted with open arms and nothing was too much for the staff with whatever she asked for or needed. During the last couple of Covid years, the staff were always available on the end of the phone to give us an update, and not once during this period were we concerned that father was not being looked after or cared for properly. All the family would like to thank the entire staff at Ashton Lodge for looking after my father so well and making the last 8 1/2 years a bit easier to bear and we cannot envisage him being in a better place during this time.

The staff without exception were kind, courteous, and competent not just in providing care for my Grandpa, but also in helping my Grandma stay in contact, especially during lockdown. My Grandma called almost daily to check-in and everyone was so kind to her and so patient. My grandpa was always clean and calm and looked very well taken care of whenever I visited. Thank you to all the staff for the exceptional care and kindness you showed my family.

It can be a worry leaving a loved one in a care facility, especially during the last few years with the Covid-19 pandemic, but my family and I were confident that even when we weren’t able to visit my grandfather he was very well looked after. The staff did everything they could for him and for my family as well. We believe he was in the best place he could possibly be and we are extremely grateful for the wonderful staff.

Ashton Lodge is a highly efficiently run care facility offering a high level of professional care to suit a variety of needs. My Aunt’s room was spacious with en-suite facilities, pleasant décor, modern furniture, and a comfortable medical bed. The Management Team were always welcoming, very professional and knowledgeable, and available to help and listen to and address any concerns. The Carers were dedicated, caring, friendly, and motivated in their roles. The Activity Coordinators were always cheerful and committed to providing endless entertainment for the residents to participate in. They provided meaningful and stimulating activities, encouraged social interaction between residents whilst taking onboard residents' likes/dislikes, abilities, preferences, and needs in order to come up with endless activities and choices to suit everyone. The Cleaning, Laundry, Maintenance, and Kitchen staff did an excellent job behind the scene because Ashton Lodge was run to the highest of standards.

Despite all the difficulties, the staff at the care home have been excellent in looking after my brother. I say staff, but I would prefer to say Family because the care and treatment provided is as good as I would have provided. Whenever I have visited, I have noticed the care taken to ensure the safety of the resident and the visitor has to be commended throughout the Covid period. Knowing that your loved ones are looked after as you would like to be, going that extra mile to entertain with different activities, birthday celebrations, making time to listen, striving to continuously improve, is credit to the team and the management of Ashton Care Home. I would not hesitate in recommending Ashton Lodge Care Home to anyone.
