Both staff and surroundings meant that my mum's time at Ashton Lodge was dignified. The staff genuinely care about those in their care and this showed in their attention to mum. They took the time to listen and sometimes just sat and held her hand.

My father-in-law is treated with respect5 and dignity at all times. The staff are very polite and courteous.
The home is always clean and fresh and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who would wish to reside there.

I went several times with my dog for the resident and was invited to a summer bbq, they looked after me soooo well and also the residents. Great team

The home is very clean and tidy.
It is warm and welcoming and comfortable. The staff are all very kind and caring and go out of their way to help.
Residents and visitors are treated well by the staff who are all very friendly.
There was recently a 'party' for the residents and their family and
friends and lots of effort and planning went into this. The staff made such an effort lots of them coming in on their days off to make sure the residents had a nice time. There was lots of food and entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

My Uncle went to Ashton Lodge about 3 years ago. He had just had a bout of pneumonia and had been in hospital. Due to this, his dementia got worse and he had lost the use of his legs. After about a week, I asked him whether he was being looked after well and he said yes, he said he was happy. My
Uncle was attended to regularly, his room was always spotless and the Care Workers treated him as well as could be expected. His room was also spacious and he had an en-suite bathroom. This is a place where the Care Workers genuinely care about those they are trusted to look after. Everything was thought of and everything was done for my Uncle. I cannot fault Ashton Lodge.

I can highly recommend the nursing home where my husband, who was suffering from dementia and was wheelchair-bound, was a resident for over 3 years.


The nurses and carers gave my husband outstanding care during the difficult time where he was there. They were patient, kind and attentive to his needs.

My husband had a stroke in February 2017 and he was in hospital for two months. We chose Ashton Lodge, recommended by a friend. In the last five months, he has recovered well, he is very alert because of the good care received at Ashton Lodge.


The manager as well as nursing staff, carers, activity

co-ordinators are all amazing and very dedicated to their job. They are supportive to the family as well. There are lots of activities going on and in a calm atmosphere. Prayers are held and there are some visits from church people.

My 91year old aunt has been in Ashton Lodge for nine months. To say she loves it in the home is really not exaggerating. She is so well cared for and truly happy.
Daily activities and friends she has made, not forgetting the delightful staff, all help her to pass the day in a very contented way.
Whenever I visit she is always clean, smiling and with someone.
I felt I had to write this little review with all the bad press the UK care home system is receiving at the moment.
There are some caring homes out there and this is surely one of them.
I have to say my aunt is self-funded but I truly don't believe this is the reason my aunt is receiving such good treatment.

The manageress has changed around this home dramatically! and has improved the decor,
co-ordinating, nursing care, the staff calibre, entertainment quality and the daily functions of this home is absolutely wonderful!! I can not fault anything!!! The manager and her staff genuinely give the proper

I cannot speak too highly of the Management and staff at Ashton Lodge for the way they handled my friend's arrival.


My initial feeling, that he would get excellent care in a lively atmosphere where quality of life is important and love and understanding the guiding principles, was more than borne

out by events.


My friend has poor sight and is very frail from malnutrition. Previous experiences made it hard for him to adjust to his new home and trust the people caring for him.


I really appreciated the way this challenging period was managed, especially that everyone was completely open to taking advice from me who knows him well to combine with their own experience and observations. It was great to feel part of a team with professional caring people who understand the importance of getting to know the person in their care.


And it worked wonders. My friend said recently "We have reached sanctuary." and "We can look forward to merrier times." Yes we can, thanks to Ashton Lodge!

Ashton Lodge has always been a very friendly and approachable care home. Atmosphere fantastic, office staff down to earth and the wonderful carers have been wonderful and kind to my mother and our family.
The new manager has even made a bigger impact on the home, improving it even more.
I am so
glad I made the decision to put my beloved mother there and know she is in safe caring hands.

The staff at Ashton Lodge have been so kind and considerate for my mother who is 88 years and blind. She has been here almost one year and certainly makes her feel homely and part of an extended family. Sometimes the staff don't pick the phone up especially over the weekends when family members call
to ask about the resident. More Gujarati speaking staff would be helpful as there are quite a few Gujarati residents.
