A lovely place for respite and could not ask for more from the staff. Mum was very safe and well cared for at all times. They were vigilant and noticed when things were not right with Mum and dealt with things immediately. Very good at keeping you updated and could drop in anytime as well as call. Extremely well managed.

My mother first came into the home as a respite case as we had double booked holidays with my sister and her husband. Upon our return, our mother had made the decision to stay in the home permanently. Both she and we are highly satisfied with the care provided. The home is very clean, the laundry service is excellent, the food is excellent and, above all, the carers are kind, patient and understanding.

Modern care home with friendly staff and management team. En-suite bedroom ample size, (the home ordered a special bed for my mother as has back problems).

Bedrooms are located on the first floor but have easy lift access. Whenever there has been a problem, staff have been quick to get medical help and have kept me fully informed.

Overall Experience
Mum became a resident at Ralphland 5 months ago, settled in immediately and is very happy. The home is generally light and bright, as is her room, which is an important aspect as Mum is partially sighted.
Maintaining as much independence as possible, she is treated with dignity, respect and kind consideration by all of the staff whatever their position or grade, and during a recent period of illness received that extra bit of care, attention and encouragement when it was necessary.
Mum enjoys the social contact of the communal lounge and dining room and readily joins in the excellent regular and varied activity sessions.

Ralphland is a friendly and welcoming care home providing an excellent service to their residents and peace of mind for relatives.

Our family are very pleased that our mother is living at Ralphland Residential Care Home. Mum has been here since October 2017. Mum is well cared for. Her dietary needs are met together with her specialised medical needs. The whole home is spotlessly clean and food of good quality.
The care staff are on the whole very cheerful and obliging treating residence with respect and dignity.
The manager is so helpful. She will go out of her way to do anything to improve, enhance and promote the welfare of the residence. We have found her to be very approachable and always encourages us to speak to her or the staff should we have any concerns.

Ralphland is a homely establishment and I would certainly without hesitation, recommend my mother's new home.

Overall Experience
Ralphland Care Home has been caring for my mother for 1 year. She is 101 years old. In the year she has been here she has been cared for with outstanding compassion, kindness and attention. My mum is profoundly deaf and her sight is not good, however all carers use their many skills to make sure they are understood and always ensure to make her aware of their presence.
She prefers to eat alone and in her room but her food is on time and hot. The care home is kept spotlessly clean in all areas, and my mother comments often about the lovely and regulars baths she has and how kind the carers are when they help her each day to wash and dress.

Overall Ralphland Care Home covers all areas of total and unstinting care and kindness.

Roche Andreae-Toyer
Roche Andreae-ToyerJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2011

My role is to ensure all our residents receive high-quality care and are treated with dignity and respect.”

Roche has worked in the Health and Social Care Sector for 17 years. Upon starting an apprenticeship at Ralphland care home when she was 17, Roche realised that her career lay in a care role, which is why she continued to develop her career within the sector. Roche has care management experience in Nursing and Residential care and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of her residents as well as her team members.

Why did you decide to return to Ralphland Care home as Home Manager? I was pleased to find there was a great support network. The company provided clear directions and expectations for team members.

What do you enjoy most about your job? I love that I can help people to make positive changes in their lives and help them achieve their goals. It’s also great that I can utilise my leadership skills by being a supportive manager to my fantastic team. I believe being a positive role model empowers not only my team members but our residents, too. I find this helps to build up their confidence, self-worth, motivation and drive. My commitment to my roles ensures all our residents receive high-quality care and are treated with dignity and respect. Throughout my career, I have upheld these values and principles. This has led me to witness many positive life-changing situations.

What are your favourite hobbies and pastimes? I love music and like to attend various venues and an eclectic mix of artists up and down the country. I’m also very family-oriented, so I’ll often be found with relatives and friends in my downtime.

Are there any highlights in your career you are particularly proud of? For more than 6 years, I worked as a Nursing home Deputy Manager for Four Seasons Health Care. During my time there, I was proud of the development of my career. This lead me to be recognised as Deputy Manager of the year in the Wigan and Leigh hospice care home award 2021. To be a non-clinical deputy manager and win this award was a great achievement and extremely rare. I believe I flourished in my role due to having a positive impact on our residents’ care and the service we provided.
