Bassett House is a new luxury Care Home providing accommodation for frail older people together with a specialist unit to care for older people with dementia type illnesses. The home is able to care for sixty three clients in comfortable surroundings. Bassett House is situated on the outskirts of Wootton Bassett, set in landscapes grounds.

This newly built home offers all the advantages of a purpose built building with modern facilities. The bedrooms are attractively decorated and finished. All have en-suite shower rooms and in addition there are supported bathrooms. Carers encourage residents to bring in their personal belongings, for example, pictures and ornaments, to personalise their rooms. The home has three separate lounges and dining rooms. It also has a cinema room, where residents can enjoy their favourite films. From the upper floors of the home one can enjoy the views over the surrounding Wiltshire countryside.

Within Bassett House, the philosophy and culture is based on “relationship centred care” and this is the principal approach to care provision. Professionals seek to integrate this into all aspects of the home, with the aim of building stronger relationships between residents, staff, relatives, friends, and the wider community.

My husband was in this home for 6 weeks, following an accident, for rehabilitation. The physiotherapist, occupational therapist and most of the carers were excellent but communication was very poor. The food was particularly bad.

My late husband spent the last weeks of his life in Bassett House. He was looked after with so much care and dignity. Myself and my family can't thank them enough. Not only did they look after my late husband they also made sure that I, my daughters, and granddaughters were ok. Absolutely brilliant.

From the moment you arrive the sight of the building is clean and welcoming. The entrance is well carpeted and clean, no smells. The staff are very caring and treat people with care and consideration. Even when faced with unsavoury duties the staff carry these out without a fuss and most times with
a smile.

As power of attorney to one of the residents who has dementia etc, I find all the staff very caring and knowledgeable to his needs.
I could not have found a better nursing home.

I cannot praise this care home highly enough. We had to admit our mother at short notice in difficult circumstances. The care, love and commitment of the staff, not only to our mother but also to the family was frankly amazing. The building was spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming. The staff are friendly,
calming and reassuring. Bassett House should be a benchmark for all other care homes.

I was offered rehabilitation at Basset House Care home after a broken hip. They didn't have the right equipment there, however, the physio did a really good job. The care workers were generally of a good standard. The qualified nurse who was on duty most of the time left my tablets and often I had no
water near and had to call someone.

Sorry you felt that we did not have the right equipment. As a rehabilitation resident, the NHS is responsible for the provision of equipment, which is based on their assessment of what is required.
Your stay at Bassett House was to assist you in regaining your independence, autonomy and confidence prior to returning home. It is for this reason we encourage residents to be more independent.

My mum came here after two weeks in hospital after a broken hip. Our immediate impression of the home was very good, it felt warm and welcoming.
The staff are all excellent and very approachable.
The room Mum was in was nicely equipped and peaceful. She felt her carers were very pleasant and helpful.
I felt very reassured that my 92 year old mum was in excellent hands and getting all the help and support needed to aid her recovery.

My mother was admitted to Bassett House to recover from a broken wrist as a result from a bad fall. She was not herself when she was admitted, however with the care she received and the amazing cheerful attitude of all the staff she made a very swift recovery. I enjoyed visiting there, always a warm
welcome and a nice relaxed atmosphere.
I just want to say "thank you" to ALL at Bassett House and I would highly recommend your establishment.

My mother needed respite care and physio after a hip replacement. She was treated with kindness and dignity by all the staff.
The home was clean and the food excellent, even if some of the residents were much worse than her. She couldn't find fault.

Arrived unannounced and was greeted immediately. I was escorted to my uncle who looked well and was well dressed and cared for. I was offered lunch to share a table so I could assist him. The staff were busy and efficient. They were tolerant of difficult patients and very caring. Sadly, over the past

My mum was at Bassett House for 4 years and 4 months, she was very content there. Carers and nurses were kind to her and looked after her needs very well. Her one fear was having to go to hospital so when she passed away peacefully in her chair on April 30the 2018 she got her wish.

I was so pleased that Mum was in Bassett House.
Until going into the home I looked after her for twelve years and Bassett House continued that care at the level that homes should, but sadly this is not the case.
I work in the care industry so can say this knowing it to be true.
The staff not only
look after the residents but the families as well.
I cannot recommend Bassett House and its staff highly enough.
