Hi Our Mum was in this care home for 3 yrs.
This care home has been fantastic with our mum until she past 4/5.
We couldn't get there in time so the nurse in charge sat with mum holding her hand until we arrived. This was so much appreciated and showed how much staff care for the people in the home.
We can honestly say we have never had a problem with the home, if you ask for something to be done it is done asap. Mum was very happy at this home. All the staff likes her and she liked them.
We would recommend this care home to everyone looking for somewhere to put their loved one.
A big Thankyou to All the Staff and Management.
Even the Owner came up to me and asked about mum and how she was treated and if we were pleased with the service they provided. The owner was also a Very nice polite person
So Thanks to Everyone who works in Gifford House

My sister has been a resident now for nearly 3 yrs and is very happy here. The staff are brilliant, caring, respectful, compassionate, professional and above all are friendly to both residents + visitors and will always have time to chat to the residents who might need a little tlc. The nursing staff
keep you informed of any medical issue and are always there when you need advise and will get the doctor in or refer you if necessary I cannot tell you how much peace of mind this care home gives me. I took me ages to find the right one.

We as a family believe that Gifford House give very good care to our relative, who has been here for 3 years. The staff all treat him and I'm kindness and respect. The nurse team are very good. There are occassions where things go wrong eg sorting out transport to/from appointments, but they make amends
and apologise.

The home is modern, bright, clean and welcoming. Safeguards are in place such as keypads to keep residents safe, mum has a side guarded bed with pressure mattress to prevent bed sores and personal care is given by more than one staff member to prevent accidents. I am warmly welcomed when entering and
the staff have treated mum with dignity and respect. Mums room is spotlessly clean.
They keep a close eye on her health and prompt action has been taken when mum has been unwell. Her meals are tailored to her needs and the staff feed her with kindness. Visitors are always asked if we would like a drink when the trolley comes round and we are able to help ourselves to a drink in the kitchen at any time.
Despite being bedridden and having advanced dementia, the activity staff spend time with her regularly. Communication has been fantastic, there is always someone available to speak to regarding mums care and I am able to visit mum at any time.
Highly recommend Bassett House!

My mother has been been at Bassett House since 2022 and as a family we are very happy with the care she has had and continues to receive. When she first arrived at Bassett House we had specific needs and having reviewed a number of care homes the manager at BH was the only one willing to go out of
their way to accommodate my mother and, at the time, also my father. My mothers care needs have changed over time and her care has been adapted to anticipate and meet her needs as her condition has developed. The home is extremely welcoming to family and visitors and I don't think there has been a time when I have visited when I have not been greeted by at least one member of staff and that could be anyone from the management team to the cleaning/maintenance staff. Family and friends are actively invited into the home to attend activities and events and the newly refurbished home has really enhanced the overall warmth and friendliness of the home.
Reply from Jacqueline Moss, Home Director at Bassett House Care HomeThank you so much for your wonderful review and for sharing your family's experience of Bassett House. We are delighted to hear that your mother has received the care and support she needs since joining us in 2022. It is especially meaningful to know that, from the beginning, our team worked with you to accommodate your parents' individual needs and provide reassurance during an important transition. As care needs change over time, our aim is always to provide person-centred care that adapts with each resident, so we are pleased your mother's care has continued to evolve alongside her needs. Your kind comments about our staff, welcoming atmosphere, refurbishment, and family involvement are greatly appreciated. Every member of our team plays a part in creating a warm, friendly home. Thank you again for your trust and recommendation. Please do speak with us if there is ever anything more we can do or improve.

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Gifford House who made our mum so welcome. As a family we didn't know how mum was going to settle but she was made welcome from the start and did not once say she did not feel comfortable there. could not wait to get back to see everyone. (Betty Wing)

I recently arranged two weeks of respite care for my mother at Gifford House Care Home, and I was so grateful we found it.
The staff were genuinely kind, attentive, and respectful, taking the time to understand my mother and make her feel comfortable and valued. The home itself was beautifully maintained,
spotless, and welcoming - with a calm, comfortable atmosphere that felt more like a high-quality hotel than a care home.
Most importantly, my mother was happy and very well cared for throughout her stay, which meant everything to me.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gifford House to anyone looking for exceptional care. It would no doubt be my first choice for a care home should I need it in the future.
My sincere thanks to everyone at Gifford House - from the owners and managers to all the staff. Your compassion and dedication truly made a difference.

I am writing following the passing of my mother, who lived at the home for approximately three years.
Given the length of time she was a resident and the involvement our family had with the home throughout that period, I was surprised and disappointed that the family received no acknowledgement or
condolences from the home following her death.
a simple message of sympathy would ordinarily be expected from a care provider after supporting a resident for such a significant period of their life. Such gestures can mean a great deal to families during an already difficult time.
The absence of any acknowledgement has been noted and has added to the family's concerns about the overall culture of care and communication we experienced.
Unfortunately this isn't unexpected given the abuse and neglect mum received during her stay.
Find a home for your loved ones that focuses on care before profit and ensure the management are accountable for everything that happens to your loved one.
Reply from Manish Chotai, Director at Gifford House Care HomeThank you for your review.Firstly, we offer our sincere condolences to you and your family following the passing of Doreen.Doreen was in our care for three years, during which time we worked closely with you, your family, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure her care remained appropriate.Staff prioritised her comfort, wellbeing & quality of life, with regular communication and meetings throughout.Doreen experienced many positive moments and passed peacefully, surrounded by her family. Many of our staff were genuinely fond of her. We are sorry you felt there was a lack of acknowledgement following her passing. At that time, the Home Director was dealing with a sudden bereavement. Our intention was to be respectful, though we recognise the importance of timely communication. We also supported meaningful final moments, including urgent work with professionals to enable a grandchild to visit from a controlled environment.Once again, we are sorry for your loss and thank you for your feedback.

My mum was only at Bassett House for 5/6 weeks until she passed this week but the care and compassion she received was second to none from all members of staff. I did too. I cannot thank everyone enough. I couldn't have wished for a better home for her to be in and take her last breath. Nothing was

The management and all the staff have been very professional and kind. The standard of care has been outstanding which gave me the confidence knowing the resident was being cared for at all times. The whole care home was immaculately clean. The activities for the residents are very good and there is
something for everyone, the staff who organise the activities take the time to find out the residents interests and will find a activitiy they might like.
