Thank you for your kind words - It is an honour to able to care for your loved one as it is the rest of our residents here at The Forge. We do see everyone as human beings regardless of their needs and struggles. To be able to bring normality back to someone's life with dementia is such a rewarding experience and we are lucky to be able to do this on a day to day basis. We are here to help in anyway we can, and supporting families and loved ones is a big part our job too. Thank you again for your kind words - its an absolute pleasure to be able to do what we do!
Thank you for your kind words. It has been an honour to care for your dad, although it wasn't for very long, he was loved as part of our Forge Family just like everyone else. We get very attached to our residents, but also their families too - we are already missing seeing you Daily and Dolly is missing you too! Thank you again for giving us the honour of caring for your dad - The kettle is always on if you are passing.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Your mum is very much missed at The Forge and still fondly spoken of on a daily basis. Every person we are honoured to care for becomes part of The Forge family, but so do their families. Thank you for giving us the honour of caring for The Queen of your family and thank you for continuing to support The Forge as a family - it's truly appreciated. The kettle is always on if you fancy a cuppa.
Thank you for your kind words Lesley. It was our honour to be able to care for your mum. She was such a character and she will be spoken of fondly amongst the staff, for a very long time to come. We will also miss the rest of you! Working in care we get to know the families just as much as our residents, and your whole family were always so supportive of The Forge and continue to support us in the memory of your mum. We can't thank you all enough. You will all always be a part of The Forge Family. x
Thank you for your kind words. Being able to care for people's loved ones is an honour for us and we thank you all for putting your trust in us with the Queen of your family. We get attached the families as much as we do our residents and you are all going to be missed by us - not just your mum. Your mum will be fondly remembered as part of The Forge Family for a very long time to come.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Whilst we are here to care for people, we do get very attached to not only the residents we care for but the families that come with them too. Your mum was such a massive character within this home and she is very much missed. She will be a part of our Forge Family for a very long time to come. Thank you for giving us the honour of caring for your mum.
Thank you Darren for your lovely words - as you know, we are all very fond of your dad. He loves a chat, and often asks me to come and have a look at how tidy his room is, he then shows me the family pictures and tells me how wonderful you all are! We love being able to provide memory-making days for your mum and dad - seeing them smiling together means the world to us. Thank you for trusting us with your loved one - we love him too.
Thank you so much for such kind words. As you know we all absolutely adore your mum, and making sure she feels happy and safe is our main priority. I always remember when Mum first moved in, she would come down to reception and sit with us, helping us to answer the front door and welcoming visitors with a smile. I can only thank you for putting your trust in us, not only with Dad but with Mum too - it's an honour to know that the care we provide is held in such high esteem by you. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words - it has been a pleasure watching Dad thrive in this environment and seeing him with a constant smile on his face makes all of us happy too. He is a pleasure to care for and we love encouraging him to do the things he enjoys. It's also been great getting to know you and Mum. Thank you for putting your trust in us.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It is an honour to care for mum and we love seeing her smile too. We are looking forward to all of the summer activities mum can get involved with.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It's brilliant to know that the care we are providing has put a smile back on his face. It's been wonderful to observe the interactions he has with the other residents, he really has settled in here and it's a pleasure to be caring for him. Thank you.

I joined the Summerhill Care Homes Group after graduating from university in 2008 and I have worked alongside and within all of our homes in a Business Support Role, having worked in both our Finance and Payroll departments for the group and I have often moved around each site to give extra support where needed.
Since opening in November 2010, I have been heavily involved in The Forge Care Centre and I have seen the home develop and evolve through the years previously having the position of Business Support Manager where I supported the Manager with running of the home and had direct responsibility for the personnel aspects of ancillary services.
I am now the home manager and I really enjoy my role.
I came to The Forge in August 2010 before it opened, and haven’t left (I did try but my heart is at The Forge and always will be). I will still be here when I transfer from my desk to a bed! I’ve always worked in offices before working here, reconciling accounts for various companies, but this is the best job ever. Greeting families as they come to the home (getting paid to talk to people – perfect job).
I really love working at The Forge as it is like one large family, everyone gets on with each other – lovely atmosphere. We have amazing angels that look after our lovely people and do an absolutely amazing job.
I have worked at The Forge Care Centre since 2012. It was my first job in care, after helping look after my grandmother at home.
I started here as a carer, providing hands on care to our lovely residents. I love to dance and bounce around - I have finally found a job that allows me to do this, and the residents join in!
Over the years I have had various different roles within the home, and I am now thriving in the Business Support Manager role.
I oversee the resident side of things, from making admissions as smooth as possible, managing personal allowances and supporting the home manager in any way I can.
I'm lucky enough to have a job where I have 76 Nana's and Grandad's to see everyday.
I have been a qualified mental Health Nurse since 1990 and my experience base is in both functional mental health and dementia.
Person Centred Care and Treatment is very important to me and instilling that into the team is part of the ethos of the dementia training I provide to the staff in the home.
Our residents are at the heart of everything we do which means the nursing care is tailored to the needs of the individual.
As a manager, I aim to role model mutual respect and team work to all staff within the organisation which is then also reflected in the care that is given on a day to day basis.
I am a life long learner and as a nurse, I turn every experience and training into a opportunity to be a reflective practitioner and develop knowledge gained into practical improvement for myself and the team I help run.
