The home has a positive atmosphere. The staff are very caring. Residents' rooms are of a very good size. The feel of the place is more like a small B&B or Hotel rather than an old folks home.

My husband came to Balhousie Coupar Angus at the beginning of November 2021. He has settled in very well and is so well cared for that I have no worries about him at all. The carers and management are always so approachable and ready to answer any queries I may have. Even during lockdown times, I was able to speak to him on the phone, so no quality times were lost. I have a 40-mile round trip to visit but will never move him anywhere else.
This means a lot to us, thank you. Lockdown has been tough for everyone and we're glad that you were still able to have quality 'time' with your husband.

Our cousin was a resident at Coupar Angus Balhousie. During her stay there she was treated kindly and affectionately by all the staff. We always felt she was in a safe and caring environment. Although my cousin's stay was quite short the staff managed to make her birthday special even though the home was in lockdown. We appreciate the special care she was given during her last week before she succumbed to her illness. We always felt she received quality care along with affection and tenderness. We are grateful to the manager and all her staff for the kindness shown to my cousin.

Staff got to know our family well and did their utmost to support us when my granny was in palliative care. The staff were attentive and I can't rate them high enough.

My husband had been a resident here since December 2017. He had excellent care, physically and mentally. The staff cared for him beyond “it's my job” and were very understanding and sympathetic towards the family too. Latterly, my husband was in Abbey Suite and any interests or moods were very sympathetically dealt with. He loved dancing and the staff would encourage him, anytime music was on. There was no hesitation to give me a bed in my husband's room for his last week. My daughter and son were allowed access to come and sit with me, during that time. It was wonderful to be with him as it was obvious he couldn't be at home. My daughter, son and grandchildren were treated as one of the family, when they visited and we were so fortunate to choose this particular home. What a treasure the staff are. I still pop in for a visit because I also provide knitting to be passed on to Ninewells Hospital and I am treated in such a friendly manner.

Although generally, Balhousie is OK, the staffing levels appear to be low, therefore carers don't have the time to sit with the residents - especially in their rooms. Usually, they are in to help to the toilet and out again. The food also appears to be rather boring. It's Tuesday so it must be...
