Merton Place

Dad is a new resident and I've been impressed by the care and quality my dad had received. Staff are friendly and helpful. Reassured that Dad is getting good quality care.

He seems very happy here.

The only issue is the highly variable quality of the catering.

Residential client. Receiving fabulous care. Staff extremely kind when she was unwell. Staff are supportive and encouraging. Engage my aunt in all activities. Great variety of entertainment. Really help pick her up after suffering a bereavement. Couldn't praise the staff enough.

I visit my friend, who has had a severe stroke, as often as I can. I am always greeted in a friendly manner by the staff who let me in. The home smells nice and is always clean and tidy. My friend is as comfortable as she can be in an adjustable bed. Her room is modern and well decorated, if a little small.

There is nowhere else I would rather be. If the quality of our food improved, I would be happy, which I am sure other residents would feel that as well.

Mum has been a resident at Merton Place for almost 3 years. It was my first choice when looking for a home. The home is modern, extremely clean, and welcoming. All the staff are very friendly, and some carers have a particular bond with mum. They all know my family and me by name. There are activities 5 days a week, but I do think some consideration should be given to residents' capabilities. My mum's stroke means she can't read or write, so quizzes, bingo, and reading activities are not activities she can participate in.

As for the ratings, all good. The staff and management are kind and caring; they are all in my prayers, and I say thank you. God Bless

The staff are very hard-working and are not appreciated by the management. My wife has been a resident since September 2025. Fairways have taken over the home, and some improvements have been made; other things are not as good. It would be good if there was some kind of support for relatives who don't find it easy seeing their loved ones in a nursing home

Activities not used because of being bed bound. Some difficulty in getting all staff to understand the need of help in mealtimes - feeding etc. Little connection with management.

My dad was a resident here for 3 years and it was honestly a place he called home. Staff were amazing with him and tried to involve him in all activities even though sometimes that was difficult. We are so glad my dad got to spend his last years here where he was happy.

Mum only spent a couple of months here but was at all times treated with care and respect. The staff were polite and friendly whenever we visited, and I'm grateful to them for making Mum's last couple of months comfortable. There was a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the place.

My mum is the most precious thing to me and knowing that she is being taken care of is a godsend. Mum has been in Merton Place for nearly 7 years and I cannot praise the staff more for taking such good care of her and keeping in touch with the family. Putting family members in care homes is a difficult decision but having an excellent care home helps to diminish any worries.

Fantastic home and the staff are brilliant. My wife is very happy there and feels at home. Facilities are good and weekly events for residents are well thought out. The staff are very helpful and friendly, my wife is looked after very well. Highly recommend. Thanks to all staff for everything they do.

My mum has been in Merton Place for about 8 years now the service and care that Mum gets is second to none. I know she is in good safe hands the food is always good. The staff are friendly and will always answer any questions.

A modern care home with pleasant, well-equipped rooms for residents with lots of space in the other common rooms (sitting and dining areas). Staff look after Dad very well and care for him and his needs. As I don't live in the area, I rely on the home for updates about Dad and any specific needs he requires me to sort out. I always feel welcomed and have access with my own key card to the setting (following the reduction in Covid rules). They also have a good relationship with the local health services (GP and specialist services) when further intervention is required.

My mother has been a resident here for approximately two years. It is a lovely place and I have been so grateful to all the staff for their skill, concern and care. I live a long way from North Wales and knowing my mother is in such a safe and caring place gives me great peace of mind, for which I am very grateful.

My dad needed to spend some time in full-time care during the summer and we were fortunate enough to be able to find a place for him at Merton Place. All of the team are so helpful and friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. Dad really enjoyed being there and the staff made him feel so well cared for. Sadly, he reached the end of life during his stay and the care and compassion shown to Dad and all of us, was something we will always be grateful for.

The regular weekly entertainment and activities are enjoyed by all a ready stimulus for chat and happy memories.
