Swinton Grange Care Home - Opened 2012 is a purpose-built EMI nursing home that can be tailored to many personal care needs, with twenty-seven rooms available including showers in many rooms.

All Hermes Care accommodations are set up for both efficient care and pleasant day-to-day living, with nurse call facilities for convenience and emergencies, together with a range of in-house entertainments and activities for residents.

All rooms have digital TV points and residents have their privacy respected, with staff also taking pride in offering a friendly attitude to visitors.

I went to visit a family friend, and one of the managers was doing such an amazing job; she stood out so much with how genuinely caring and pure-hearted she is. She not only makes the place light up, but she also made it a lovely atmosphere to be in. I will forever recommend this care home as its such
a warm and welcoming home due to the staff!

Mam seems happier than she was in her previous care home. They have sorted out her calves/ankles, which were really swelled up. She always looks well dressed and clean, her hair always looks very clean. She speaks very highly of the staff. She has good days and bad days, but in general, seems to have
accepted she is in the best place for her.

My friend has recently been moved to Swinton Grange, and I cannot be more pleased for him. The team are extremely accommodating, goes the extra mile, and evidently works together to provide high-quality care, support, and encouragement, which he so needed.
The surroundings are exceptional, clean, bright
and airy. My friend has a lovely room. Always mentions he enjoys the quality food provided, and his personal hygiene has greatly improved since he moved there too!
The manager and her lovely team cannot do enough for each resident, which is clear to see when I visit. For the first time in three years of battling to get him what he needs, finally, since his move to Swinton, he is being cared for with the quality care and respect he deserves!
The team at Swinton Grange are clearly a team! Thank you for caring for my dearest friend!

All the staff are very welcoming and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for them; they will go that extra mile to help the residents and visitors. Very caring staff. The standards of Swinton Grange are extremely good, very clean and always smells nice. My mum has only been here just over a month,
and the first time my sister and I visited the home, we knew it was the one for her. We are so happy and content knowing that she is well looked after and cared for.

Janet Sheppard

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2021

Hello, my name is Janet Sheppard, and I am the Home Manager for Swinton Grange Care Home, where I have been in post since March 2022. I have been with the Company, Hermes Care since 2021 and was successful in my appointment to this home last year.
I have been in the Care Industry for over 30 years and am well equipped with the skills required to be fully competent in meeting the care and wellbeing needs of our residents.
My experience began at home aged 14 having to look after my ill mother, after this I decided caring for others would be my vocation. I then went on to work in various Care Homes with Mental Health and challenging behaviours, which include EMI Dementia physical disabilities, learning disabilities, neurological and spinal disabilities. I have a wide range of experience in all areas having worked my way up from a Care Assistant to a Home Manager.
I hold a level 5 Diploma in leadership and management. I am trained in Non-Abusive Psychological Physical Interventions (N.A.P.P.I) which supports the staff team to implement positive strategies to manage residents who may present with challenging behaviours. I believe understanding our residents' limitations helps us to build on their strengths in order to make a positive contribution towards improving the quality of their daily lives.
As a staff team we believe one smile a day is worth every bit of the hard work the staff team here implements because it allows our resident to know that they matter.
We have developed a Dementia friendly home with tactile, sensory, visual prompts, picture aids and activities to enhance our residents communication and orientation thus ensuring our home is fit for purpose to meet the needs of the residents.
