My Mum is resident in this wonderful care home. She is turning 90 this week and we wanted to celebrate with her and family and friends but we were a little concerned taking her out of her safe place as she can get a bit agitated when she has been out. So the manager asked us if we wanted to have something
done within the home. This solved a big problem. They laid on a fantastic buffet and great entertainment. The kitchen staff did a wonderful job as did all the staff involved. I would like to add a special mention to the staff member for dressing up the room and helping with Mum. The room we had opened onto the garden so we didn't cause too much disruption to the other residents. Around 30 Family and friends got to spend a precious few hours with Mum who was a little overwhelmed at first but ended up enjoying herself. I cannot thank you enough for facilitating this fantastic occasion for her family.

We attended the Summer fancy dress party. The staff, both on duty and off duty, were great and fully interacted with all residents and visitors. They ensured that the residents without family and friends didn’t feel left out and were included in all the activities and were well catered for. It was very
well organized. The bbq and entertainment was great and there was even a bouncy castle for the children. A lot of the residents were in the garden area, singing and some dancing along to the music. A great day and a big thank you to all the staff for their efforts and ongoing excellent care.

Mum went into Hurst Park Court in june 2020, very apprehensive as had always been so independent.
Can't fault how Hurst Park Court dealt with the difficult covid times and how Mum was cared for.
I am always kept informed of any health concerns.
Hurst Park Court had a jubilee part last week, was
fantastic for family, and residents.
Would recommend Hurst Park Court 100% to any family.

This review is regarding the party for the Queen's Jubilee. What a lovely day it was for all concerned. We had young children with us, who were catered for as much as the adults. The staff, both on duty and off duty, were amazing; it was well organized. Many of the residents were in the garden area,
some sitting, some dancing, and a lot of them singing to the music, all with the option to go in and sit in the lounge if it got too much. Well done to all concerned, and thank you.

The staff are super friendly and make a point of making the residents feel safe, happy and at ease. Each staff member I have come across has remembered my name, even staff members I've not met before. They obviously listen to the residents when they talk about their families. The activities they do
look so much fun. A massive well done to all the staff, including and not forgetting the office/reception staff.

My mum was in Hurst Park Court for about 2.5 years. I trawled care homes in Merseyside before settling on here because of the feel of it, the welcome I got from the manager at the time and the standards of cleanliness. The staff always seemed happy, jolly, uplifting and wanting to make the residents
feel at home and happy. The thing that stood out was the manager saying it was the resident’s home.
Food was always hot and plentiful.
Mum was always treated well, during the pandemic it went through a terrible time and I would like to thank the staff for still keeping going despite all they went through. Mum sadly had to leave when she needed nursing care so please note this cannot accommodate that which we naively didn’t realise so she had to go to another home for her final days.
My only improvement would be that the garden is used more often as it wasn’t really used enough for residents.
The new manager was the deputy and he’s definitely maintained it well.
Reply from Christopher Wilcock, Manager at Hurst Park CourtThank you for taking the time to review Hurst Park Court and we are pleased that you rate our overall standard as excellent. It was our pleasure to care for your mum and I will ensure that I pass your lovely feedback to our team. I note your comment regarding the use of our gardens and will look into how we can use our gardens more frequently when the weather permits.

I do not need 200 words to describe this nursing home. The staff go out of their way to help residents and visitors. The nursing home is very clean and inviting and the residents seem very happy. Overall, it is a very happy place.

Hurst Park Court is a lovely residential care home, bright, cheerful and homely. I would like to praise all the staff for their hard work and dedication, particularly during the covid-19 pandemic. They have cared for and kept my mum safe, along with many others during the past year. The staff are lovely,
caring and friendly and my mum is much happier since she moved in 2 years ago. Thank you to everyone!

Prior to my wife needing residential help (due to dementia) I was concerned about her welfare, I need not have worried, Hurst Park Court is an outstanding establishment in all areas of care, the staff, building, facilities and activities are exceptional. There is nothing that the staff treat as unimportant
and they always treat any concerns with respect and courtesy. The buildings/accommodation are always very clean and comfortable, I particularly like some of the "facilities", the Post Office, the bus stop, postbox and the bar'. In pre covid times staff organised special dinners where relatives could attend, these included Valentines Day and Christmas Lunch - I could continue but will just say a big thank you to all staff for showing the real meaning of care.

My Mum has been a resident in Hurst Court for over 12 months. It was a hard decision to put my Mum in care for all the family. I would like to thank all the staff and management for all their care. The home is a credit to the manager and all the staff. The home is spotlessly clean, every one of the
staff are smiling and happy, very caring and supportive. They helped us get through this difficult time, there is so much love and care toward the residents and families, it’s now truly my mums home, nothing is too much for the staff. I can take my grandchildren to visit my Mum and we are always made welcome. There are always activities going on, singing, dancing, painting and party’s for special occasions and days out. When I go home I have the peace of mind knowing my mum is being well looked after and cared for. Thanks again to everyone.

As this experience was new to me and I had the responsibility of finding a care home for my mother. I couldn't have asked to have met such lovely people who put my mind at rest.
On my arrival, the management and staff showed me around the establishment and they couldn't have helped me more to make
me welcome with their professional manner and friendliness.
Nothing is a problem to the staff and everything is met with understanding, sympathy, warmth and most importantly a smile on their faces. The home itself is well presented and kept clean and tidy. The fact that the staff go above and beyond to make the residents feel part of the community by doing different activities is fantastic.
Knowing that my mother is happy and is in safe hands has lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. Thank you.

We had to find the best kind of home for Mum and we did so in Hurst Park Court. She arrived with the wonderful staff there in July 2018 and we couldn't have asked for better people to look after her. Mum was treated with the utmost respect and shown love and shared laughs every day. We too were welcome
as part of the Hurst Park family.

The whole place is bright and welcoming and as a family, we would have no hesitation in recommending this haven to those who are worried about putting their loved ones "into a home". This is not an institution, it truly is home for those who live there, right down to their own front door. It is small enough for there to be a good resident/carer ratio and so you know they are being looked after.

Sadly, mum passed away a month ago and we actually miss seeing everyone! Mum loved it there - I'm sure your parent would too.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.384)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.384) out of 10 for Hurst Park Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.534 for Hurst Park Court is calculated as follows: ( (126 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (7 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 176 Ratings = 4.534
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hurst Park Court is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 registered maximum number of service users is 8.2, which has been reached with 14 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
