Overall Experience

Blandford Grange Care Home provided excellent care for our relative who had severe dementia and who was sometimes very agitated. Our relative was difficult to deal with but the staff showed great patience to deal with her, to provide the care and nursing she needed as well as trying to jolly her along. They provided outstanding care right up until she quietly passed away in her sleep.

Sharon Cork
Sharon CorkJob Title:Head Chef

Sharon decided to work at Healthcare Homes as she wanted to get back into good old-fashioned cooking.

Prior to joining Healthcare Homes, Sharon was a head chef/Manager at a school for autistic children.

She believes you need to be passionate about your role, have very high standards and enjoys what you are doing. Be adaptable, reliable and friendly to be good in her role.

The favourite part of her working day is serving lunches to residents and receiving feedback from them and seeing residents enjoying their meals.

The biggest professional challenge in her career to date was making the decision to move to the care sector from the education sector. As it turned out, it has been the best decision she has ever made.

Sharon's biggest career highlight to date was preparing food for Princess Anne!

Qualities that make her stand out are being approachable, hardworking, reliable and trustworthy.

Outside of work, she enjoys watching rugby and watching her son play rugby. She also enjoys music and playing darts.

Sharon looks forward to seeing residents and relatives enjoying their meals as it is a major part of their every daily lives at Blandford Grange.
