My mum moved to Church View care home a few weeks a go and since her arrival I can not fault the care she has received. The home itself is lovely. Clean, airy and very welcoming. My mum's room is spacious and meets her needs well, and there are lots of activities during the week. The staff have been
lovely and the Manager for her area of the home (Priya) is simply brilliant! She is quick to reply to any questions/concerns, she goes out of her way to advocate for my mother and to support our wider family. She keeps us updated on my mum's progress and I feel incredibly happy to know that my mum is being so well cared for. We are aware that we will have some challenging times ahead with my mother but I feel reassured that we will have the support of the care home to help us through this. The care home has gone above and beyond to ensure we are able to have quality time with my mother as a whole family and I will always be eternally grateful for this. Thank you to all that work there.
Reply from Rohan Patel, Business Manager at Church View Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful feedback - it truly means a great deal to us. We're delighted your mum and family feel supported, and I will be sure to share your lovely comments with Priya and the whole team.

My Mum was in Church View for just over 2 years and was always treated with kindness and patience. Mum was treated with compassion and dignity especially in the final weeks of her life with staff making every effort to make her comfortable
It was always very clean and welcoming to us as a family.
I
would highly recommend Church View to anyone who is looking for a safe and caring home for a loved one.

I am so pleased with this care home. They have looked after my mother so well that her desire to live life to the fullest has been revived. She is looked after with so much care and warmth, lots of laughter and banter. Staff are so professional. The atmosphere is relaxed. It doesn't feel like a care
home. I highly recommend this place. I enjoy visiting my mother and the activities are great fun for her.

My mother stayed at Churchveiw for two weeks respite care to allow my wife and I a break from caring for my mother.
We visited the home the week prior to her stay and were shown around by Claire and met a number of really helpful and happy staff members along with residents who all seemed very happy
and chatty.
The facilities and bedrooms were really clean and adequate for my mother
On dropping Mum off, we had a very thorough meeting with the head nurse to go through medication and the team to ensure everything was listed.
We visited Mum several times while she was staying there and ahead of was very happy and enjoyed taking part in the activities put on by the team on a daily basis.
She also used the hairdresser, had her nails done and enjoyed the company and meal times.
Overall, it gave Mum back the purpose to get up, get dressed and meet new people and join in again with the community

A year ago my brothers and I were in a search for a care home for our 96 year old mother. After viewing 5 other homes - a couple in very nice areas of Surrey county we were sent to Church View. At first we were unsure because of the location but we were so surprised when we came to visit. A year later
I continue to be impressed. The staff are so attentive & treat my mom with dignity and respect, the facility is bright and cheerful, the food excellent, and their activities program is fantastic. I have peace of mind that my mom is in the best place!

Churchview is staffed by the most amazing team of knowledgeable, hard working, polite and skilled individuals.
My dad lives there and has severe dementia and they are striving to give him the best life possible and find ways to make all our lives bearable. The team on Willow are kind and patient and
look after my dad with a smile, even when he is disruptive. I have seen many other care homes and this is one if the best. Its fully refurbished and has a nice smell. The new gardens and flower displays are good enough to win awards. Everything is spotless and as soon as a mess is made, its cleared and cleaned. You are welcomed in with a big smile from the reception team and offered drinks and cake. The sympathy i have got from the staff at this difficult time helps me get through the grief that watching a loved one with Altzeimers brings. I would recommend this care home. They really care.

My Mum came to Church View earlier this year following the break up of a relationship with her partner mainly due to his inability to cope with her care needs. It's been a very unsettling time for her throughout the whole process and continues to be so due to her illness. The staff have shown patience,
professionalism, care and above all kindness from the day she moved in and are managing her condition well. The activities provided are superb and really well thought through. The recent open day/party was fun to attend and a great demonstration of the keenness and diligence of the staff to make a special experience for everyone. (Visitors included)
The home was recommended to me by a good friend and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending also. Thank you Church View.

When my partner first came here, he was uncooperative and unresponsive. The staff here have been so kind and patient towards him & have brought him out of his shell. He eats well now & has even put on weight. He goes willingly to most of the activities which he would not have done before. The other
patients in his unit are all lovely too. I am so happy he is here.

My wife has been in this care home for over a year now and I cannot fault the care and attention my wife has received during this time.
During this last month my wife has deteriorated and is having increasing bouts of sickness. Apart from referral to the doctor the home has started a food diary to
help diagnose the problem.

My mum was here for a respite for 4 weeks to start with. Then Extended for a bit while my Dad was in there for End of Life care.
She loved being there and we could visit her any time night or day.
My mum is bed-bound, but they included her in many activities. Thank you, team. She made a fresh flower
arrangement, a lovely crown with beautiful handmade (by the team) flowers and she loved it when the animals came to visit the home.
They also found a comfortable chair so she could go and see my Dad when he arrived. They came here every day to see him.
They bent over backward to help with every aspect of my mum's needs.
We as a family were oh so grateful for everything they have done for us.
From care assistants to the management they were so helpful.
Thank you all for making my mum's stay the best.
And maybe if she needs another respite she will be coming to you.

I feel lucky to be here. All the staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. If I need anything I simply ring my bell and within one or two minutes a member of staff will come to see what I need and it gets done at the earliest opportunity. This is the same day or night. When I arrived here I was
unable to walk and my legs were pretty useless. I have a wonderful physiotherapist who works tirelessly to improve my mobility. He gives me exercises and does fantastic massages. Although painful I feel the benefit. I have reached the stage with the help of a Physiotherapist and one carer I can just sit on the edge of my bed which I certainly couldn’t do when I arrived here.
I am kept warm and cozy and the quality of the food is very good.

The carers were very nice and looked after my Father okay but wasn't great! But the money you pay, the service you get. The management in my opinion was unprofessional and uncaring but that's just my experience. This place was rated inadequate in 2019 and the same management is still there so I find
this unbelievable they are still employed by this care home. I pointed out some problems I found when my father was there and the reply I received in a very sarcastic way was" Thank you for your feedback". My Father is in a much nicer place with staff and management really care, unlike the manager at this place. Not impressed with the care my father received. Would say look around for other care homes before deciding on Church View.
Reply from Cliff Grand-Scrutton, Director/Registered Manager at Church View Care HomeI feel it appropriate to respond regarding some comments you have made. Your father came to us on a respite as you are aware for a defined period, and we continuously accommodated and extended on your request. This was to the detriment of the other family that was moving into the room your father was in. I appreciate that is frustrating and you had requested that your father stay at Church View long term but unfortunately, we were not able to accommodate that at this time. As mentioned the room had been promised to another resident and family knowing your father's placement was only for a limited period of respite. We purchased the home in Jan 2023 so the management has completely changed and the rating of inadequate is not related to the current management or operator. The current rating is uninspected as a new operator we are waiting for the CQC to complete the inspection. I wish you all the best for the future and indeed your father. Best Regards Cliff

My dad, who suffered from advanced dementia, received excellent care from very friendly, cheerful, kind and attentive staff. When more mobile, he enjoyed sitting in the lounge and eating his meals in the dining room. When he became bedbound, the staff ensured he was safe and comfortable, looking after

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.739)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.739) out of 10 for Church View Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.764 for Church View Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (205 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (6 Poors x 2) + (4 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 233 Ratings = 4.764
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Church View Care Home is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 78 registered maximum number of service users is 15.6, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
