After visiting five homes, we were very pleased to be received with a very professional introduction and after six months, my wife has had very good care for her Lewy body dementia. The staff have been exemplary.

I cannot rate more highly the professional care, consideration and kindness shown to my dad since his arrival at Blossom Fields. From day one the team have welcomed my father (and me!) into their community, at an exceptionally stressful time. Each and every member of the team has been great, and gone above and beyond, including the leadership team who have been totally open and supportive. I didn't think that the next stage of Dad's life would bring him much joy, but the exceptionally thoughtful, high quality, very human care of the team has brought a smile back to his face. Thank you team Blossom Fields for all you do for my dad, for me and my family.

Oh my word, your comments have really hit home for us all, thank you. Blossom is a lovely place to be because the people make it so special. They are all welcoming, they enjoy family members joining in and there's always laughter and support in Blossom. I am delighted to share this special feedback with the team now. Thank you very much, Helen.

My father was in the care of Blossom Fields for nine months. The level of care, compassion and professionalism was excellent. The staff are very gentle and patient and are on hand at all times. My father loved the food, especially the daily homemade cakes. The manager and her team go continually to heights of care that I don't believe are normally experienced. I have nothing but praise for those looking after my father and would happily recommend Blossom Fields to anyone nervous about placing their loved ones in care.

Hello, thank you for your kind and considered review of Blossom Fields. I visit two friends at Blossom Fields and I am always impressed by how well they are both cared for. Speaking to both of them, they say that the staff are very caring and do everything they can to help them. One friend who is unable to stand on his own has a special alarm fitted under his chair seat and if he starts to wriggle to the end, the alarm is activated and a nurse comes and checks that he is safe. This has happened several times while I have been visiting. My other friend says that the food is very good and plenty of it!

I'm very pleased with the care and support Mum has received at Blossom Fields. Unfortunately, she is too ill to join in with activities but the entertainment lady tries hard to include her.
The quality and choices of meals are good for Mum who is a very "picky" eater.

All the staff are very kind and help her in every way they can.

My mother has vascular dementia and all the staff are flexible and understanding to her changing needs, making every effort to encourage and involve her when she is keen but equally allowing her extended rests at the times she doesn't. The patio and garden areas are an extra dimension to our ability to have quiet time away from the main areas. Thank you everyone, we really appreciate everything you do.

My father has been at Blossom Fields since March 2020 and has received very good care, he is always kept very clean and comfortable and always appears quite happy and content. The staff are obliging and always keen to help with any requests from the family. There are numerous events taking place if my father wishes to take part or to go into the garden, which is very pleasant. The management team is friendly and helpful, very pleased that there was a place free at Blossom Fields at a difficult time at the start of Covid.

The last place I would put my parents would be a care home, I always said. Push came to shove and I had no choice. Looked at a few care homes and it was a no straight away. Walked into Blossom Fields, Winterbourne and it was a straight yes. Staff are all wonderful and respectful to all patients, food is good. Showered regularly and always look clean. They have outside entertainers come in to entertain them.

I chose this nursing home for my husband, who is living with Alzheimer's, because of its homely feel and enthusiasm the manager and her deputy clearly have for the work of the home. They have an open-door policy and are always available to residents, staff and visitors. I have found care to be gentle, patient and considerate of my husband's needs as an individual and I like the way that everyone working here takes time to chat with residents and help each other out when needed.

After four years of visiting Blossom Fields to care for my father first and now my mother, I would say that, on the whole, Blossom Fields does provide good nursing care for their patients. The facilities are excellent as well as the meals provided. However, some concerns are;
1) As a guardian, I am unable to review health records frequently but have to ask. I feel these should be made available via print etc.
2) Staff carry out actionable jobs but have little time to spend talking/sitting with patients.

3) Patients get lonely.

My wife had Alzheimer's and was unable to stand. She spent her final year in Blossom Fields. The care she received from the manager and all the staff was fantastic. They showed so much detail, patience and compassion to her. I was always kept informed if there was any change in her health or wellbeing. She passed away peacefully there with her sons and myself with her, having been given notice that her condition was deteriorating. I could not have wished for a better place for my wife at that stage in her life. My grateful thanks to all the staff.

Mum was admitted to Blossom Fields, Winterbourne in December 2023 following a couple of falls and hospital stays. Her lack of mobility meant that the staff had to take care of everything from hygiene to feeding.
Her room was clean, warm and comfortable. The attention she received from all staff was incredible. They were caring and considerate of both Mum's needs and the family.
She was kept immaculately clean and nothing was beyond their remit. The manager(s) were always on hand without appointment with caring and sound advice each time we spoke. They always stopped what they were doing to take time out for me and my family.

I said goodbye to Mum today with the knowledge that her last days were spent in the hands of professional carers who always went above and beyond to make her journey from life to death, as good as it could ever have been. Thank you so much.

My thanks to the staff for looking after my wife so well during her two years with you. The staff were kind, helpful and patient with her, and I very much appreciated that. She could, on occasion, be difficult to manage and the staff rose to the situation to reassure her and calm her down. Recently there has been a particular effort to engage my wife in the various activities that took place, and she did enjoy that participation and being amongst people. She reacted well to the gentle teasing that took place. Caring for someone is a vocation rather than a job, and from what I saw on the ground floor you have some excellent examples of staff who really do care.
While my wife was on a pureed diet, it was clear that the meals were varied and nutritious. When she rejected something the staff were very good at providing an alternative.

The staff were also very sympathetic and supportive towards me after my wife passed. That was a great comfort to me.

We cannot fault the care my mother-in-law received at Blossom Fields. The staff are amazing, so caring and sensitive to individual needs. Regardless of the time of day we popped in to see Mum she was always clean, tidy and it was clear that she was well cared for.
Having spent seven weeks in bed in hospital we were amazed that the staff had managed to get Mum up, dressed and out in the lounge on her second day in residence.
We were so fortunate that the hospital chose to send Mum out to Blossom Fields.

A sincere thank you to all staff - we would recommend you to anyone looking for care.

From the moment we made contact with Blossom Fields, we had excellent service. The managers were always helpful during the stressful time of getting my mother discharged from the hospital. Even though she wasn’t under their care for long, she had superb care. The food was excellent, and the nursing staff were brilliant. When she finally passed, the nursing staff went above and beyond to help us, which meant a great deal at a very emotional time.

My mum came to Blossom Fields in September 2022. The staff were gentle and caring which gave her confidence and she started to join the activities and trips out. The staff always encouraged her to go to all the lovely activities and visits from the church and musicians, but she had the final say. My mum was able to have her piano with her and staff helped her to play. We brought lots of personal things to make her room seem like home. Links with other families were encouraged via coffee mornings and messaging group, which really helped us deal with increasing frailty and memory loss. My mum started to enjoy her meals again. The staff took such care to get to know her and always had time to chat with us too. My mum passed away peacefully in her room, surrounded by peace and love.
