Even though she wasn’t under their care for long, she had superb care. The food was excellent, and the nursing staff were brilliant. When she finally passed, the nursing staff went above and beyond to help us, which meant a great deal at a very emotional time.

My mum came to Blossom Fields in September 2022. The staff were gentle and caring which gave her confidence and she started to join the activities and trips out. The staff always encouraged her to go to all the lovely activities and visits from the church and musicians, but she had the final say. My mum was able to have her piano with her and staff helped her to play. We brought lots of personal things to make her room seem like home. Links with other families were encouraged via coffee mornings and messaging group, which really helped us deal with increasing frailty and memory loss. My mum started to enjoy her meals again. The staff took such care to get to know her and always had time to chat with us too. My mum passed away peacefully in her room, surrounded by peace and love.

My dad is a resident at Blossom Fields and has been there for over a year. I am a community-based occupational therapist, who works primarily with older adults living with Dementia. Unfortunately, my dad now has this condition and we managed to keep him living at home for as long as possible, but...
He is treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Even when busy, the staff make time to engage with him and have ensured that all his needs are met, and that he is comfortable and happy.
The staff really do care about the residents and their well-being, and this shines through.

My friends have both been using Blossom Fields for 18 months. I say both because without the care that they give one of my friends, the other would not be able to cope. They give my friend around the clock care. When she took a well deserved break they sent her videos daily. As his illness has progressed and his needs have increased, his care has not faltered. If his wife asks to stay more than a few hours a day she is offered sustenance, so is able to see just how much the staff care for all of those in their care. I have watched first hand videos made by staff of Christmas, Easter and the Kings Coronation when everyone was included in the festivities. Should I need to choose such a home for my loved ones then I would consider Blossom Fields. Thank you too all the staff, without you where would our loved ones be.

Blossom Fields deserves its outstanding rating. In the past 18 months, I have been totally impressed by their high standards of care. In every aspect of care, they excel themselves. I could not offer better care myself. Their coronation celebration was a real triumph for residents and their relatives. Food was delicious (as always), entertainment of a high standard, as was all staff who went above and beyond. A special thank you to the chef and team who helped me with a flat battery on the day. The care is satisfactory for about 40 hours a week but there are 168 hours in a week. He is left to fend for himself for hours on end. His wishes are to be treated with dignity but being wet and often dirty is not very dignified. Use of his zimmer and stroller is discouraged and so the sun only...
The wonderful memory lane is too far underutilised. There is insufficient interaction and as a result, he searches constantly for company. The lift is out of use too often. I hoped we'd see improvement in his care with the takeover - still waiting.

Moving to the UK just over six months ago from South Africa, Rose initially worked in domiciliary care, but she was keen to move into an activities role. Having loved working in activities, Rose brings not only experience but also lots of ideas.
Rose has a background in food technology, but after a long successful career she wanted to have a more meaningful role and hasn't looked back since changing careers to the care sector. Rose has really enjoyed getting to know all the Blossom Fields' residents.

Raph’s skills and knowledge led him to become the home’s administrator soon after starting work at Blossom Fields and now he is responsible for The Grove’s administration as well.
Raph finds his role fulfilling and loves working in the care home environment and the values that go with that. Raph works closely with Saba the Blossom Fields’ receptionist to keep the two busy homes in order.

Saba is currently studying for a postgraduate degree in Computer Science, specialising in software engineering.
This is not Saba’s first-degree path, she began her career in the telecom sector, then graduated in Computer Science, before pursuing a postgraduate degree in Technology Management. This programme started as a master’s degree and eventually led to a PhD, with Saba having her papers published.
Saba took a career break to spend time with her family and still cherishes those special times. When Saba has free time, she is an avid reader including journals and articles from renowned publications, as well as loving cooking and baking.
