Staff friendly to both residents and their families. Always clean rooms and have private facilities. My father has been treated with dignity at all times. It is comforting to know he is in a safe environment and we are welcome to visit any time with the children and even the dogs.

My stepdad came to live at Cedars Care Home in 2022 after becoming too frail to live alone. From day one, the home has been brilliant. I am impressed that his skin/health are assessed routinely, bloods are taken by GP or community nurse as required to check for any possible health issues, i.e. anaemia, I always receive a phone call updating me from Cedars. The food is excellent and choices. The building inside/out is clean and today, so is Stepdad's room. There are no odours within the building. The manager is a very effective leader and the staff work to the best of their ability. Staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble, they are an asset to the home.

My mother was a resident at Cedars Care Home for two years, during which time she grew to be part of a large family - myself also! I shall miss my visits to the home as I was always made to feel so welcome and encouraged to join in with events. The manager is very friendly and approachable, dealing efficiently with any matters arising and always joining in with events like 'one of the crew'.
The reception staff are always happy to help and have a cheerful outlook which makes visitors feel welcome. The care staff are all lovely and very caring and considerate. If my mother was ill or had any problems I would always be contacted and informed about decisions.

When my mother died in December last year, the manager plus two members of staff took the time to attend her funeral and brought with them a memory box which contained her last letter to my family and photos of her time at the home. My family were overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness of this gesture - it is a memory we can cherish.

Dear Lisa, thank you so much for your heartfelt feedback and comments which mean such a lot to the team. We are very grateful that you chose our home for your relative’s care. She was such a lovely person and it was our pleasure to welcome her to our family and look after her. As you can imagine, we miss her very much. Please accept, once again, our condolences on your loss.

Mum moved to Cedars Care Home in March 2022 and after a few unsettling weeks in new surroundings has now settled in and is very happy with the care and support she receives, she is also blind which is an added handicap but the staff are very attentive to her.

My mum entered Cedars Care Home in July 2021 and was not managing to care for herself at home any longer. Mum has improved a lot and gets all the help she needs while being encouraged to do things for herself wherever possible. Although Mum is not too keen on some of the activities she is always asked if she wants to join in, she likes to sit in the garden, weather permitting. I have found the level of care to be excellent.

Review from Helen T (Respite Resident) published on 25 February 2022 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
We feel very fortunate that we managed to get a room at Cedars Care Home for my mother-in-law in January 2022. From the moment we visited we felt the warmth and care from every staff member we came across. Each time we encountered another staff member going about their duties, either cleaning, serving tea, helping residents, there was always a warm and welcoming smile and comment. We felt at home instantly. My mother-in-law said at the time, "If you get fed up with me I wouldn't mind moving in permanently!", I said, "Don't get any ideas! This is temporary!".
My mother-in-law was dealt with by caring and attentive staff with love, kindness, respect and a chirpy attitude. She joined in with chair Zumba, music afternoons, bingo and was happy to socialise with other residents and spend time at the nurse's station each day - this is something she said she would never do!
It was lovely. A stressful time was made pleasant with the knowledge that my mother-in-law was safe, cared for and happy.

Thank you.

Our mother was finding it difficult to look after herself to the same standard as she was used to doing. The Cedars Care Home provides this care by way of the staff, who are very diligent and caring in their duties.
The staff are helpful and approachable, and our mother wants for nothing.

The residents are treated with the utmost respect and dignity.

With the Covid difficulties experienced by everyone, the opportunities to visit have been limited. Generally, my wife goes to see her mother. However, I am aware the management at Cedars Care Home in Southend have done all they can to maintain a good service of care for their patients/residents. They have also been quick to assist in keeping communications open.

My relative is very happy with the care she receives and says that she is 'well looked after'. I am also pleased with the standard of her care. Over the last two years with the varying Covid restrictions, the staff at Cedars Care Home have always done their best to keep me informed and were able to accommodate visits when allowed. It was especially appreciated that I could visit over the Christmas period last year.

I would recommend Cedars Care Home to anyone looking for either a residency or respite care for their family member or friend. The staff are caring, and it has been our families experience that all staff are very approachable and friendly and that the care of the resident is very important. During Covid, it has been extremely testing for residents, care workers and all staff at the home. I would like to thank them for keeping us up-to-date with key changes and for keeping all as safe as possible. The cleanliness is very good, and they have continued to try and stimulate the residents with various activities, even though at times, I'm sure this must have been difficult. Thank you all.

We, as a family, would thoroughly recommend Cedars Care Home. All staff are welcoming and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. The care our mum receives is amazing, and everyone is so kind and caring. The home is bright and extremely clean, and we feel very happy that our mum is under their care. They have an entertainments programme for the residents, take them out for trips if they are able and generally have the residents well-being as a first priority. Cedars, you are truly amazing; thank you for everything you do!

Everyone at Cedars Care Home has been found to be helpful and with a smile on their face. Assist residents to feel at home. It has been noted that many go the extra mile to ensure this. The food is well presented and tasty. The entertainment trips out and facility to use the garden is much appreciated. A special thank you to the care assistant on the second floor for his kindness.

We have been touched by the care and attention given to our father. We could not have asked for more, especially in his last weeks. Mum had been a resident for over 7 years. In that time her needs changed and her care was always appropriate. She went from being able to walk with a zimmer frame and then a wheelchair and finally bed-bound. At all times she was encouraged to be as independent as she could be. She loved all the activities from arts and crafts to exercise groups and especially the excellent entertainment. When she was bed-bound the staff continued to sing with her and I have lovely FaceTime videos of her singing in her final days. To me, one of the most impressive things is the staff really get to know the residents and it's the little things that count - what they enjoyed and what they didn't like to do, always smiling and laughing with her or reassuring if Mum was distressed. The management team are supportive to the staff, residents and relatives and any issue no matter how big or small can be discussed. It was indeed my mum's home and I felt like part of the family too.
