I cannot thank the staff enough for what they did for me the care was outstanding! They got me back on my feet “literally “ from the therapy team to the care staff they promoted my impedance as much as possible and gave me the skills and support I needed to be discharged home following my major stroke. I cannot thank them enough for what they did for me.
Thank you so much, Victoria, for taking the time to write this beautiful review for our Court team. We wish you all the best to you and your family and we hope to see you again soon on the Askham grounds at one of our community events.
I find the staff are caring and very helpful the unit is very clean warm and welcoming and they give the family updates on how well my father is doing and the treatment he is getting and help us to understand what is happening.
Thank you so much Geraldine for this wonderful feedback. We will for sure share this with our team, they will be pleased to hear they are doing an excellent job. It is our hope that we are going to maintain the same level of communication between you and our team.
This is an excellent facility set in beautiful grounds with fantastic staff and good food. I hope I can stay there again sometime in the future. I would award it at least five stars.

Manu is a seasoned and dedicated healthcare professional, bringing over two decades of experience in the nursing profession with a passion for patient care and commitment to excellence.
Her journey began in the United Kingdom in January 2006 when she completed a further Overseas Nursing Programme from Thames Valley University and registered with the NMC in August 2006.
In her previous role as a Registered Manager, she played a pivotal role in restructuring and optimising nursing processes, resulting in a notable improvement in resident satisfaction scores. Her ability to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment has earned the respect of her peers and subordinates alike. She is well-known for her hands-on approach to leadership, often seen on the floor, actively engaging with staff and ensuring that the highest standards of care are maintained.

Clinical Lead

Bev is a disciplinarian who, nevertheless, has developed a family feel within her team; a team that looks after a very complex set of residents. The strengths she brings to the peer group centre on her clinical excellence in dealing with highly complex residents. Bev in particular is very focused on the role of the family in supporting patients to progress towards their goals.
Where our residents don’t have family, she encourages staff to take on this role (while of course maintaining professional boundaries), motivating residents to follow through on their rehabilitation. She brings her clinical knowledge to the peer group, often providing competency checks and best practices to other Leads.

Mav has joined Askham with a wealth of knowledge from the Health and Social Care Sector, having worked in senior management roles for several years, leading the safe growth and development of homes and providers to ensure maximised potential and best practices.
He has worked extensively as a Registered Manager, securing great outcomes in the sense of quality and compliance and community/resident involvement.
Mav has a strong passion for excellence in care and safe delivery of such, ensuring that residents and team members are supported and empowered to grow and develop on their own journey of excellence and discovery too.

Training Manager, Michelle, has spent over 30 years in the care sector and as a leading industry Trainer. The two have always gone hand-in-hand for Michelle, who now brings her extensive knowledge and on-the-job experience to life for the benefit of those she trains at AVC.
A registered Dementia Champion, Michelle is skilled in Training Programme Design, Delivery, Coaching, Training Needs Analysis and QCF Assessing. Inspired by Askham’s mission – to become a centre of excellence for training, in the local community and beyond – Michelle now heads up the state-of-the-art, on-site training facility.
Since joining the team at Askham, Michelle has proudly guided over 250 people through various courses, including Moving and Handling, First Aid, Infection Control, Safeguarding and End of Life.
