Herald Lodge

Over the past year with the COVID-19 pandemic, the staff have done a wonderful job looking after my mum and all other residents. The staff are always willing to answer questions and offer advice.

I have always found the staff helpful and supportive.

My dad went to Herald Lodge in November 2019; the staff and management have been amazing. My dad and his room were always clean and tidy; it was a comfort to know he was being well looked after. Thank you to everyone at Herald Lodge for all the help and support during the 18-months that my dad slowly deteriorated from Alzheimer's, unit he finally passed peacefully in February 2021.

My husband had been a resident in Herald Lodge since October 2019. He was looked after with loving care during his time there. Unfortunately, he passed away on 7th Feb 2021. I cannot fault the care and attention he received and the kindness of the staff to myself and family. They are amazing.

I cannot speak highly enough of this care home. My husband was a resident for three weeks giving me a needing much care break from him, having dementia is tough. The staff treated him with love, kindness and respect. Nothing was too much trouble and I wasn't left out either, so I appreciate the staff so much. I really need to thank two carers in particular for their dedication and patience for him. From the moment you step foot in the home, there is a pleasant atmosphere and no unpleasant odours, If stars were being handed out, I would give this home one made up of platinum, Thank you and take care.

My nan has been in the care home 5 years now and I have to say the fact she is still with us is largely down to the exceptional care that she has received from the staff at Herald Lodge. I can't thank them enough especially with lockdown it has meant we have not been able to see her in over 4 months but I had every confidence based on her previous care she was going to be well cared for and I'm so thankful for the staff for their dedication because I was right. Every member of staff is amazing with her, they treat her like she is one of their own family members. The staff are so respectful of her and her condition and even in her early days in the home, they took the time to get to know her and learn what she was like as a person before getting dementia which really meant a lot to me because it meant they could use the elements of her life in her day to day care. Everything about his home is an A** I can't recommend it enough for a loved one as the care and compassion is unquestionable.

The kindness, dignity, care and love provided to my Dad (and to the family) was very much appreciated by us all. Thank you so much.

The staff have been very mindful of my welfare too, at a very difficult time in our lives.

My mother hasn't been at Herald Lodge long, but in her short time here, the staff have been very kind and helpful to both my mother and myself.

My husband came in for respite; for two weeks, and the staff really looked after him. They were very helpful when some of his clothes and glasses went missing. Nothing was too much trouble.

We were told that there were a few residents with dementia, we were given false impression so had to move our mother.

It was clear for all mums family to see she was happy there, and that meant a lot to us. We cannot express how much it means to know your loved one is being cared for so well they feel it is their own home. A massive thank you to all the staff at the care home, you are all stars in our eyes.

I cannot fault Herald Lodge, everybody, staff and management were excellent, so kind and helpful.

Mum has been here six weeks after a hospital stay. The staff have been brilliant. The home is clean, the food outstanding. Mum has settled far better than I ever expected, and that is down to the care and attention of everybody here.

My mother has started living at Herald Lodge and been here for almost 2 months. The care she has received has been exceptional, the staff make the home feel like home and Mum has settled really well. Nothing is too much trouble and Mum is now relaxed and settled. Thank you.

My mother spent 6 very happy years at Herald Lodge before she passed away last week aged 101 years. She had a lovely, modern room with ensuite facilities. She was immediately welcomed as part of the Herald family and the staff were amazing! They became part of our family too. The loving, tender care she received was outstanding in every way. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone.

My friend who lived there from November 2017 until passing away 22-2-2019 was wonderfully looked after and cared for.

My mother moved into Herald Lodge on the 1/.2/19. After a week living at the home, I began to see a difference in her, she is back to reading and doing crosswords, which she hadn't done for some time. She is also eating more than she was due to the encouragement of the carers. I can't praise the staff at Herald Lodge enough, every single one is helpful and friendly.
