My father, prior to living at Magherafelt Manor, was reclusive and not willing to participate in activities. He is now enjoying life to the full, being looked after by the wonderful caring staff. He looks so smart and well-turned out when we visit. Seeing him so happy with people of his own age makes us as a family feel better. Such a wonderful place. Thank you for looking after him for us.
When was admitted to Magherafelt Manor for assessment on discharge from hospital. Although it is some distance to travel for visits she has settled in very quickly, and as a family we decided that it was more important than finding somewhere closer to home. Although she has good days and not so good once, the good far outweigh. She is content safe and obviously well cared for, staff are quick to contact us if there are any concerns.
Our father has been in Magherafelt Manor since November 2022. He had a fall at home which was complicated when he also got an infection. His needs were not going to be met in his home environment when he came out of hospital and so we took the very difficult decision to move him to a care setting. All of the staff we have spoken to and met in Magherafelt Manor have been fantastic and they already know Daddy very very well. Nothing is too much trouble and Daddy is very content, comfortable and safe. Thank you to all of the staff, you've made a very difficult period in his life so much easier.
Mum is a recent patient and, for the family, a first time experience of a care home. It was a difficult decision to admit Mum, but the staff were welcoming to Mum and ourselves. As a family, we know through our regular visits Mum is cared for to a high standard, she is always well-presented and the staff appear to know Mum and her needs are met. Mum's room is a good size and is always spotless. The external services such as a hairdresser and podiatrist is a lovely service. Laundry is carried out regularly and Mum's clothes are returned pristine. The food is presented beautifully and looks nutritious, as my sister and I have been present at lunch, afternoon tea, evening tea and supper. The unit is clean and odor free from entering at the main door. We have commented many times how clean and lovely the Cedar and Willow units are. The staff are friendly, approachable and nothing seems to be too much trouble, from face to face to phone calls. Thank you everyone for the care provided.
I could not be happier with the care and attention that my mother received. She was in both Cedar and Sycamore and was very happy in both places. She was always treated with dignity and respect, as were her visitors. When she died in August 2022, the staff could not have been kinder or more accommodating. I was really impressed by the fact that several of the staff attended her funeral.
My mother had been a resident of this home from July 2012 suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. She had received excellent care during all of this time but most especially at the end of her life. As a family, we sat with her from November 21 2022 when the syringe driver was required. Staff tended to her regularly and ensured pain levels were adequately managed and that any signs of agitation or distress were attended to immediately. As a family, they were on call for us whenever we wanted help or support. They provided us with a room where we could access tea, coffee, biscuits, toast etc and ensured we had meals whilst we were sitting with our mother. They came in just to chat with us about her allowing a much-needed distraction. The level of care that both she and we received at the end of my mother's life was outstanding and I was more than happy with my decision for my mother to receive palliative care in the home where the staff knew her.
I find the staff to be caring and helpful. My father is only in the home for a short time and he has settled well. He is well cared for and fed well. The only complaint we would have is that the floor in his room could be cleaner as we have seen food lying on the floor, floor not cleaned where tea has been spilt on floor and curtains.
This care home has provided exemplary care for my Aunt, especially when she was extremely ill last year. She seemed to breeze through Coivd at 96 years old and seems content and happy when I visit. A big thank you to all the staff who care for my Aunt every day and whose efforts go largely unrecognised by the general public. Thank you sincerely for everything you do!
My mum is in the nursing end of this home. The standard of care is very high. I watch daily as the care assistants care for residents like family. Food and nutrition is a very important part of care and each staff member here do an excellent job of feeding residents who are no longer able to feed themselves. Excellent staff and work well together therefore well care for and content residents.
Our Mum's care in Magherafelt Manor was absolutely exceptional. No words could ever express our gratitude for all the loving care and attention she received from every member of Staff. She was pampered and cared for - with so much love and compassion - it was wonderful. Her time in Magherafelt Manor was definitely a very happy time. We truly appreciate and thank every Member of Staff for their kindness. They will be forever in our hearts.
It's a great comfort to know when I leave my mum she is treated and loved by people who are like extended family and you feel how much they care for residents who are treated like they are their own parents. Their care is in a league of its own. I and my brothers and sisters would mirror my words. This home could never be thanked enough.
I have had no issues with this care home. They have done a brilliant job looking after my father. He seems to enjoy being there.
My father seems content and happy.
He is very well cared for.
We try to visit our family member on a regular basis. On each occasion, our relative is usually well dressed and content. The surroundings are very pleasant and we come away feeling that our relative has been placed in an environment which is very suitable for her needs.
My dad settled so well here and that was mainly down to the staff. They are all so caring and attentive, every resident is treated with compassion and great respect. As a family, we were always welcomed whenever we called in everyone was so friendly and always stopped for a chat. It truly is a great home.
It was a heartbreaking and difficult decision to have you place my father-in-law into care, however, the staff in Magherafelt Manor were so welcoming and supportive to my father-in-law and our entire family that he settled in easily. Nothing is ever too much trouble and the staff always take the time to speak - our entire family felt as though it was a home from home. The professional delivery of palliative care given to my father- in- law could not have been better and the care provided adapted to his changing needs. My father-in-law was able to maintain his dignity, make some lovely special memories with the family( in particular 53rd wedding anniversary and a family meal out) which were facilitated by the staff and meant so much to us as a family. If you are in the difficult position to have to make this choice of placing your loved one in care, I would definitely recommend this Care Home.
Well done to you all. A great team.
All friends visiting complimented and spoke highly of the care, compassion and attention to detail shown not only to my husband but to the other residents.
Although difficult to have to place my husband in a care home, the staff were so reassuring and supportive to ourselves It made the very difficult and emotional process easier.
Everyone was so open and welcoming we knew we could trust all the staff to provide the very best care to my husband, even when we weren’t there.
We can’t thank the staff enough and we and the many friends who visited would have no hesitation in recommending Magherafelt Manor.
It is a pleasure to visit Mum as the staff are always very friendly. This is very reassuring to all our family, to know that staff has a friendly manner towards family. It shows that our loved ones are also treated with dignity and respect.
Food has a good choice. The room looks homely. At present, I personally would say the Manor is highly rated for their care to their service users. Long may this last.
I am unable to visit on a regular basis but staff always contact me regarding appointments for my friend or should there be an incident regarding her.
When I have been at home at mealtimes they have been nutritious and if my friend requires being fed, the staff ensure she is assisted. If I have been unable to take my friend to an appointment, staff are always willing to take her.
Reception staff and morning staff are always courteous.
