Mum was in Cross Way for seven months and during that time she was treated with care, compassion and dignity by all the staff there. Her physical needs were very well met as was her emotional wellbeing. The manager and staff were always friendly and welcomed us with a smile when visiting. Not only was
Mum well supported and cared about, but I was too. This was really a home from home for Mum, nothing seemed too much trouble. When Mum was on end-of-life care they kept me informed every step of the way and went above and beyond in their care of Mum to ensure she passed peacefully. I don't have the words to express my gratitude for the way the whole team looked after my mum. Thank you.

I feel Mum is being cared for very well and always safe. My mum does need to be encouraged to speak out ie when in pain, wants a drink/fruit. Carers do encourage this but she still isn't reaching out as much as she should.

My mum has been treated by all members of staff with care, compassion and dignity. Her needs have been met with regard to meals, personal care, medical care, together with her emotional wellbeing. The level of care and support from the nursing staff was excellent. Mum spent her last 15 months at Cross Way before finally passing on Friday 8th December.
I always felt happy with no complaints about the professional and personal way Mum was cared for. It’s an excellent facility and close to where
Mum lived.

My mother was treated with the utmost dignity and kindness throughout her stay until her sad passing recently. Nothing was too much trouble and staff were absolutely marvellous, kind, caring and compassionate, all that you want for a loved one suffering from dementia. The staff went above and beyond
to get my mum better treatment to ease her suffering. I do not have enough words to praise them. I would definitely recommend this care home to any of my friends needing its service. I used this home on a recommendation from a friend whose father was a resident but now also sadly passed.

Mum joined Cross Way House just a few weeks before covid shutdown so this experience could have been disturbing for her. Following being hospitalised in February, my Dad needed more care than we could give him at home and he settled in well. In March we started looking for a suitable place for him to call home. Having visited a few homes, my sister and I felt that Cross Way House Care Home was the right place for him.
We are so glad we made this choice, as the team of staff are all so caring, and genuinely care about the residents. The ambience provides a happy home environment and the attention to detail means you can rest assured that your relative is being looked after physically and mentally.
The Manager and Deputy Manager do an amazing job, as do the dedicated team of staff. The last few months must have been particularly difficult due to COVID-19 but they have kept smiling and ensured residents needs are met at all times. Well done the Care Manager for leading a committed team who go above and beyond - please accept our very grateful thanks.

I reviewed Cross Way House when my mum first went to live there. Seventeen months on I felt I had to do another review to say that the standard of care hasn't reduced or even stayed the same - it has improved to an outstanding standard and continues to improve all the time. Mum's quality of care has
been the best we could have hoped for. The manager has shown herself to be a woman of integrity who gives her heart and soul to Cross Way House and has ensured that her staff do the same. I feel welcome when I visit, no matter what time. I feel that Mum gets all the care and support she needs and I have that care and support too. There have been times when I find my mum's dementia hard to cope with and it has been those times when I have been given care, support, a hug, a chat and a cup of tea.
I have no hesitation in recommending Cross Way House to everyone.

I have found Cross Way House to be a very friendly and kind environment from day one of my husbands stay. Everyone has been most supportive bot of my husband and myself. Mum's been a resident at Cross Way for more than a year now.
I'm very happy with the care and general atmosphere at Cross Way.
The staff are pleasant and seem happy to help and also seem to work together well.
The place has the feel of a family.
I don't imagine their job is easy working with some
who have advanced dementia as mum has, yet they seem to do it cheerfully.

Our sister seems very happy here and enjoys seeing the children when they come in.

I am the registered manager at Crossway House. I hold a Level 5 qualification in health and social care, leadership and management. I have been the manager at Crossway House for over 7 years. I have worked in health and social care for over 24 years, achieving my first managerial post in 2014. I have successfully run a number of care homes within my career with experience in both caring for the elderly and learning disabilities. I pride myself on delivering and providing the highest standards of care; I drive change and promote a positive culture within the service. I have an open-door policy; residents, staff and families are always welcome to see me. I am most proud of developing the staff team to be able to improve the home CQC rating from inadequate to now having a rating of good. I have built a good reputation and working relationships with outside health professionals.
