From day one we have been very happy with the overall care given to my mother. We appreciate the flexibility regarding the layout and furnishing of her room to give a more personal touch. However, the biggest compliment is reserved for the staff especially those who look after her needs on a day-to-day
basis. 'Superstars' they are.

Choosing a care home when looking for respite care for a loved one can be tricky. I relied on the Ofsted ratings and the reviews for each home. That is why it is so important to me to write a review on Lavender Court after my father's recent stay. From making the initial contact with the super helpful
manager to speaking to all the wonderful people that care for the residents at the home, I couldn't be happier. Dad settled in very quickly and was made to feel welcome. He had the care and support that he needed and more. Since returning home he has spoken very highly of his stay and has said he would happily return, Thank you so much.

Thank you, it was our pleasure. I'm not called super very often but I do agree with you. Both take care and see you soon.

Mother has been in Lavender Court Residential Care Home round about a month with dementia. Staff are wonderful, getting her to mix a little and motivate her to go eat with residents. As a family we are relieved to see our mother cared for.

Lavender Court Residential Care Home is a very welcoming home. Being relatively small, the staff get to know the residents really well and therefore can look after and support them in a much more person-centered way. My sister always tells me how kind the staff are and they are always happy to answer
any questions. I know that my sister is safe there and looked after very well.

My mother-in-law has only been here for a few days. Everything seems to be fine. She enjoys the sing-a-longs and says the staff are excellent. She says the food is okay but she has little appetite lately.

Thank you for the lovely review. A new place sometimes needs a settling-in period. Just have a word with our manager or the cooks and we will do everything possible to accommodate particular food choices. Any issues at all, please speak to the team.

Overall the home is very good. In the summer months, the garden is used more.
Unable to go in with my mother I suppose this is due to the covid rules, but I can't see why due to the openness and ventilation.

The staff at Lavender Court are patient, understanding, and kind and meet moms' needs. They have become her family when we were not able to provide that support for her.

I cannot praise the staff of Lavender Court enough. My mother was a resident for over seven years, and even though the staff came and went, the care was always excellent. The staff were her family, and that's how it felt when we visited, like visiting a member of our family in their own home. My father
chose to be a resident when he became too ill to look after himself making his final months so much easier for him and us. Nothing was too much trouble, making him cups of tea any time of day or night and sitting and talking to him when we weren't with him, especially when he couldn't sleep. It meant we could spend quality time with him. We would not have managed without Lavender Court and the people who cared for our parents and also us in the difficult times. They have been amazing, and I would recommend this home from home to anyone.

My father lived in the care home for a few weeks and it is a great care home. We found it so homely and friendly. It’s only small which suited my dad as he found his way round and could remember where everything was. The staff were great and encouraged his independence but gave support when needed.
They really looked after him and he was sorry to leave when the time came. The staff took time to get to know him and everyone came into his room for a chat, he was encouraged to take part in the activities and even enjoyed the bingo. I would not hesitate to book him a room if the time came when he needs more care.

It's a minefield trying to find suitable accommodation for a close relative, but at Lavender Court I think I've found it. Each resident has a designated carer so Mum gets 1 to 1 attention. The staff as a whole are fantastic, so patient with Mum, who I know can be difficult, even when she wakes through
the night they make her a cup of tea. Also, it's only a 10-minute walk from home if I'm needed. I would definitely recommend to anyone else.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.848)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.848) out of 10 for Lavender Court Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.765 for Lavender Court Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (26 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 34 Ratings = 4.765
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.083 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lavender Court Residential Care Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 18 registered maximum number of service users is 3.6. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 3.6 = 0.833
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
