Ever since our father came to the home, he has been so happy. There are so many events for him to take part in, he seems to do them all. It's so nice to see the care and attention he receives. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for the staff.

I am so glad that my dad is at Soham Lodge. He has been there for two years and is very happy. All of the staff without exception are professional, diligent, so caring and all go above and beyond in their care.
Everything is kept scrupulously clean, at the same time homely.
There is a beautiful
dining room with table cloths and napkins and the meals always look so tasty.
The staff work so hard caring for our loved ones. There are always plenty of activities running throughout the day and they often have live entertainment for the residents. My father loves the singing and often gets up to dance.
I know I have no worries as my dad is well-fed, well-groomed and well-loved by all of the wonderful staff.
So grateful to you all. I love your Facebook page where we can see what you have all been up to every day.
I would unreservedly recommend Soham Lodge as a centre of excellence.

Knowing our mum is at Soham Lodge makes us all feel so happy, she is so very well looked after and cared for. The carers are totally proficient and professional in what they do and the Events Manager is just so innovative and remarkable in all she does to maintain the good health and mental well being
of all the residents. The staff at reception always have a smile for you and make you so welcome. Overall it is a lovely, well furnished, light and airy home and our mum loves everyone who takes care of her.

From the moment we walked in, we knew this was the right place for Dad. Scrupulously clean, nicely decorated and furnished, lovely and light. The care and friendliness were always there - everyone welcomed and helped us. We struggled to get the NHS to release Dad but Soham Lodge supported us all the
way. Sadly he only lived for 10 days after we finally moved him in but it was absolutely the right place and we have no regrets for our choice, just warm memories of peace, care and being in kind, expert hands. I recommend Soham Lodge wholeheartedly.

Although my husband was only at the Lodge for a short time ( he recently passed away), all of the staff from the cleaners, nurses, kitchen staff everyone who looked after him treated him with care, respect, understanding and kindness. The Lodge is kept very clean, the food always smelt delicious. I

My mum needed respite care and from the original phone call, I can only say the Lodge has been excellent. All staff have treated my mum with the utmost respect. My mum has enjoyed the food and says it has been of good quality. She hasn't been involved in any activities because that is not her. But on
looking about when entering it looks like all the residents are very well catered for.

The home was always clean with no unpleasant smell, the cleaner is hard working, cheerful and friendly to residents and their visitors. I would recommend the standard of care/support highly.
The dignity shown is very good. Staff and management are exceptional and I don't personally know how they do what they do.

staff from top to bottom levels are exceptional and I could not recommend it higher.

My husband had a complex neurological condition - the little known progressive supranuclear palsy. He spent the last month of his life in Soham Lodge and received outstanding care from very competent and caring staff. The home manages a homely environment alongside excellent nursing care. I have looked

I have found Soham Lodge certainly strives to keep their standards high in all aspects. Having had experiences with other homes with aged mothers, Soham Lodge is by far the best. My sister has been resident now into the third year with a deteriorating illness and appears content, clean and well cared
for. The staff have been particularly helpful and caring over the past 6 months that have been particularly difficult for us as a family.

It’s such a hard decision to move someone into a care home, but my mum’s Alzheimer’s meant that it just wasn’t possible to care for her at home any more. She moved into another care home initially but is now at Soham Lodge and the care she receives there is excellent.

The staff are committed, thoughtful

and efficient and their respect and care for the residents is very evident. Communication is excellent and the home itself is spotlessly clean, comfortable and has much more communal space and nicer rooms than any other home I’ve visited.

My aunt also spent a short time in the care home after a fall left her unable to live independently, she was also full of praise for the home, which she thought was a lovely hotel with wonderful staff.

Huge thanks to all at Soham Lodge, I have such respect for what you all do. I highly recommend the care home and wouldn’t have my mum living anywhere else.

My husband had Alzheimer's and Lewy Body Dementia. He moved into Soham Lodge Nursing Care Home in September 2012. He was a resident there until he passed away on January 1st 2016. The care he received was wonderful. We were made to feel we were part of a big family. Nothing was too much trouble and
we, as a family, had that same care and support from all the staff, kitchen staff, laundry, housekeepers, nurses, carers and management.
Some days I was in tears when I left my husband and the management never let me drive home until I had a cup of team with them and got myself together again.
The last week my husband was there I didn't like going home because it meant so much to me to be with him when he took his last breath.
The room next door to him was empty and the owner of the home said I could stay in that room as I wanted. How wonderful and kind. One of my daughters also had another room for her Dad's last two nights.
My other daughter has two children and they were welcomed into the home. They loved visiting their Grandad and also joining in with the activities.
All residents were included in the daily activities whatever each one was capable of doing. Great stimulation was given to them every day.
When my husband passed away I felt lost and not needed so much. I needed to keep myself busy and I wanted to pay something back to the home so I decided to be a volunteer one day a week helping with activities. As bingo caller, making residents drinks and generally chatting to the residents, helping with trips out and special days eg., garden fete, Christmas fayre, coffee mornings and any other fundraising events.
Another very important thing I would like to say is the home is always kept spotless and always smells clean and fresh. No horrible aromas.
All residents are kept clean and smart too. A shower or bath every day and clean clothes on every day.
If anyone needs a good nursing care home I will always recommend Soham Lodge.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.390)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.390) out of 10 for Soham Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.815 for Soham Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (67 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 81 Ratings = 4.815
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.575 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Soham Lodge is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.875
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
