From the first day my husband went in we have received friendly care from every member of staff. It is always spotlessly clean and so are the residents. All treated with love and care for their individual needs. Total respect is paid to all and discretion. Food is excellent and suitable entertainment provided on a daily basis. Visitors are welcomed. Absolutely nothing to criticise.

My dad has been a resident in Groveland park for about 10 weeks. Since his arrival he has been made to feel very welcome by all the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and his immediate needs are being well met. There were a couple of teething problems with his Sky TV/telephone but these were sorted out reasonably quickly. His room has now been personalised with a door name etc. Activities are plentiful which he can participate in if he wants to. My only criticism is that I have never been introduced to the manager (nor has dad) so there has been no communication as to how he has settled in nor has he been able to express is own feelings about this, so I can only assume that the home is happy about him as a permanent resident.

Overall Experience

When our father passed away in May 2013 it became necessary for our lovely Mother to be found a caring home to live in as she was in no condition to look after herself being 92 and suffering from Alzheimer's disease. My brother and I inspected six local care homes none of which we felt were quite as nice as we were hoping for. A reluctant decision was provisionally made to select the best available but we still had one more to see, having spotted an advert in a local paper. An appointment was made and we arrived at GLP not expecting to find a Care Home much different to the ones already seen. How wrong we were! From the moment we entered the building it was apparent this home was as far removed from those already seen as it was possible to be. The home had only been open about three months and was, and remains still in "show home" condition, resembling more a bright, clean, modern hotel than a care home. Without hesitation a room was selected from the many unused rooms available and Mum soon became a resident. Naturally this was not without its difficulties but without exception the staff went to great lengths to settle Mum in. Sadly Mum passed away just before the New Year after two and a half years residency. I can totally recommend GLP without hesitation, in the time Mum was there we saw Mum blossom and seemed to lose ten years due to the excellent care and company, not to mention the on site hairdressing salon. To lose a loved one is of course sad but we honestly feel Mum could not have had better care anywhere. Finally the hospitality of the home is outstanding, any food or drinks served in the Bistro is at no charge to visitors and is of restaurant standard. We will miss our Mum but will also miss seeing the lovely staff who made us feel part of a family. Our heartfelt thanks to all past and present staff.

One of the most pleasant, homely and non-clinical residential homes I have seen. Designed to be a home from home not an institution. Wherever possible, independence and freedom are enforced. Activities and days out and entertainment nights planned to offer a variety of entertainment for all interests. A place of safety to leave your family and loved ones.
