The lady at the reception desk is so friendly and welcoming every time we visit. She goes above and beyond to help.

The gentleman who works on The Glades is extremely patient with residents and so kind and gentle with how he interacts; he is amazing with our gran. He treats residents with respect and dignity, giving the highest quality of care.

Mum is now in her sixth year at Vida Hall and her care throughout has been excellent. Mum celebrated her 100th Birthday in March and thanks to both the management and the amazing staff we were able to enjoy some time with her on her special day as a family and we will be forever grateful. Her care throughout has been exceptional no matter which unit she has been resident in. She has needed to be moved, as her dementia has progressed and her care needs have changed. This has been done seamlessly from the initial assessment to the transition to the new unit. If anyone has any doubts about placing their loved one at Vida, you don't need to have any concerns. The care is focused and individual, the staff are professional, caring and empathetic and the management team keep the standards high. Thank you to all the staff for the love and care you provide our mum, you're amazing!

I have absolute confidence that my parents have the best level of care possible, delivered by the outstanding team at Vida Hall. The staff know my mum and dad and still have the time to get to know me. I am always made to feel welcome and greatly appreciate the care and love that is shown towards me and my family.

My husband has been at Vida Hall since September 2021, and we as a family could not be happier with the care he receives. Vida Healthcare’s beliefs on how individuals living with Dementia should be cared for are exemplary - beliefs which every member of a caring, kind and patient staff, upholds. They have allowed my husband to go about his daily routine freely, whilst keeping a careful watch on him, and have a rapport with him that lets his personality come through. I thank the whole team, not only for his care but for the warmth and support given to our family.

My cousin is in her 4th year at Vida Hall. She has always been given high class care, recently she was transferred to the nursing unit Glade, as she needed extra care. This seems to have been a successful move, and currently is improving. All her needs are catered for by an excellent team of carers and nurses, under whom, all her medical needs are attended to. I have always been highly satisfied with all aspects of her care.

He is well cared for, happy, fit and safe. The carers are loving and their expertise, the very best.

I think that the care staff at Vida have helped me to keep him with his personality intact and enjoying life to the full. Vida has given us both a good life together for the past six years with many more to come.

Dad has been a resident for 18 months. He has gone from strength to strength and is brilliantly cared for on orchard view. He is more engaged and in better physical condition than when he was at home. He is able to communicate daily with Mum via Skype and staff are great at accommodating his routines as he gets agitated when things don’t go according to plan. A birthday pod visit was safe and well organised too.

The whole team at Vida Hall are devoted to the care and wellbeing of residents and also the wellbeing of their families. I truly believe that if we had not moved our mum to Vida Hall when we did, she would not be with us today. The nursing home she was in previously, was not geared up for residents with significant dementia and Parkinson’s. The lengths the Vida Hall team go to in providing regular and quality activities to stimulate the minds of residents is above and beyond - they are amazing.

Dad had to go into a care home at the beginning of lockdown. His first experience in care at the previous care home, was appalling as he was asked to leave after 3 days. Anyway, after a lot of worry for me, I came across Vida Hall in Harrogate. From the minute Dad arrived at Vida Grange, where he had two weeks in isolation to moving to Vida Hall, the change in him was astonishing. Dad was no longer like a zombie, he was alert, happy and clean. The staff have been amazing with him, even though he sometimes can be quite a challenge. More importantly, they have made me feel so welcome, even through these challenging times we are living in. I am kept well informed of what’s going on and their webinars are a great method of communication. Everyone that works there has been so caring, from the management to the care staff. I would recommend this home to anyone. Dad seems happy in his dementia world and to me, that’s all that matters. Thank you.

My mum moved to Vida Hall from a different care provider where she had lived for around 9 months. Mum settled in well and I put this down to the safe environment of Vida Hall and the love, care and compassion given to her by all staff. Personal care had previously been very traumatic for mum, however, this is now less distressing for her due to the dignified, caring way this is addressed by staff. Vida Hall has the most relaxed atmosphere where the whole focus is on the wellbeing of each individual resident. Mum is clearly less anxious than prior to moving to Vida Hall and we regularly see her character shining through which melts our hearts. The staff are truly dedicated, highly experienced in dementia care and care superbly for my mum by keeping her safe, happy and loved during these difficult times. We are regularly updated on mum's activities, health and

wellbeing. We cannot recommend Vida Hall highly enough to other families who are looking for specialist dementia care for their loved one.

Since my Sister has been residing at Vida Hall we have seen a marked difference in her. She is more content now than ever she has been for the last 10/12 years
We can only see her about once a month (availability of public transport) but we can now relax at home knowing she is living and being cared for in such a wonderful environment We have always found the home and rooms to be in an immaculate state and the staff are some of the most caring we have known

The staff are so welcoming professional, friendly and approachable

I have experienced odd occasions of a lack of engagement at the entrance; of a slightly "cavalier" attitude with pushing a trolley through a banging door; of an apparent desire by some staff to "keep their heads down" when there is an obvious commotion somewhere and of a seeming lack of senior staff available during a visit, but these are the exceptions. Generally the staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and set a relaxed atmosphere to the Hall.

Staff to resident ratio is high and staff are caring and sensitive. In recent months, activities in the unit have been reduced but we believe this will be resolved as current staff vacancies are filled with permanent staff. In our view there are not enough opportunities for residents to be taken out of the home for fresh air, visits, walks etc. However, the overall standard of care is very good. Staff are caring and skilled.

My Mother has Alzheimer’s and Vida Hall became her home in May 2018. My father, who has vascular dementia, joined her 6 weeks later in the July after a short stay in hospital. They have a twin bedroom and we have created their own sitting room in the other room, with furniture, pictures and ornaments from their home. The staff are amazing and I know my parents are in the best place possible under the circumstances. My brother and I considered hiring staff to look after them at home, but I am so pleased we didn’t do this. They have a social life in Vida which they would not have got at home, plus it would not have worked at home for a number of other reasons. I also feel very supported by all the Vida staff as it has been an extremely difficult couple of years managing the transition from home to care with parents who do not feel they have a problem. I am looking forward to concentrating on me and mine in 2019 in the knowledge my parents have the best care possible.

I know that my mother can be difficult to look after: because of her dementia she can be stubborn, rude, manipulative and even aggressive. She was admitted to Vida Hall after another local care home refused to have her back from hospital because of challenging behaviour, but this has never been seen as a problem at Vida Hall. My mother's physical and mental health is better, because, I believe, of the close monitoring and pro-active intervention of Vida's nursing staff. Its particularly impressive to see the warmth and genuine affection with which your staff treat her, and in particular the little physical contacts, that convey a sense of care and respect. It is lovely to see the quality of the interactions staff have with her, even when she is shouting out, or being quite rude.
