Vida Hall

From entering the building I was impressed. The receptionist was so professional and very friendly. We came into contact with a number of staff and each one spoke and smiled at us. The home was very clean and very well presented. I noticed how secure it all was, which was a comfort. Her room was charming, it was so inviting, warm, clean and very comfortable. All the staff we saw were very caring and kind. My relative could not praise the home or staff enough, she loved it there. I will give Vida Hall top marks (perfect).

Visiting Vida Hall has changed my perception of nursing/care homes. I was pleasantly surprised by the way it’s run, the rooms are spacious and spotless. The staff are friendly, smartly presented and helpful. The lady I visited was so happy to stay, it was nice to see her being looked after so well.

The care given to my husband is really kind and caring. I couldn’t wish for more. All the staff have so much patience to cope with his needs and there isn’t anywhere better that I would like him to be.

Moving a loved one into a care home is the hardest decision to ever make. Our overall experience of Vida Hall has been outstanding from when my mum moved in first moved in, the whole staff team are available, open, friendly, and supportive of both my mum's needs and ours as a family. The home is spotlessly clean and her room is homely, they encouraged us to bring items in from home. Offering advice on the best tags to get for clothing etc, all things you don’t actually think about. We are kept up to date by the app which is of great comfort. Whenever we ring to ask a question, it is always thoroughly explained to us. My mum is always treated with respect and dignity.

My Father has been at Vida Hall since May 2022. Due to distance, I am only able to visit my Dad, 3 times a year. I have noticed a significant improvement, in his general health and well-being. As he has Dementia, there are still difficult days, but I have noticed with each visit that the team at Starbeck are professional, caring and sensitive to all my Dad's needs. Knowing this is a great comfort to me. (Other family members, who live close by, reassure me, he is always given this high level of care.) Last week the team hosted a 60th Wedding anniversary celebration for my Dad and Mum. So that my Mum and other family members could celebrate together with him. Our whole family was astonished at the kindness of the whole team, in providing some delicious food and drinks for us all. Along with a beautifully decorated cake. Staff looked after us with such care and shared with us in the celebration. We were overwhelmed with joy, by it. Thank you to all the team for your genuine care.

My Dad has been in Vida Hall since May 2022. He has greatly improved in his ability to communicate with us as a family, residents and staff since his move to Vida Hall in Starbeck. I travel down from Scotland three times a year to see our family. I have had some very positive visits with my dad, considering the fact that he doesn't see me regularly. With the members of staff saying 'what a gentleman he is'. While visiting recently in July, it was my parent's 60th wedding anniversary. The home went above and beyond with the decorations, beautiful food, drinks and obvious delight at seeing our reactions to all their hard work and preparations. We were all in tears at the kindness and love that was shown that day, the staff are so dedicated and genuine in all they do. We are so very grateful, thankyou again for the consistent and professional levels of care, that make your home a safe and supportive place to stay.

My mother is currently a resident in Vida Hall Care Home. I have worked in various residential care homes in York. When I visit my mother I can see that she is being looked after very well and her complex needs are being met. Vida Hall is an excellent unit.

The care given at Vida Hall to both residents and their families is exemplary. I wanted the best for my parents in their final years and after much research found it here. Carefully selected and highly trained carers give efficient and tender care with attention to individual requirements and interests. Turnover of carers is minimal. They are allocated to individual residents resulting in detailed knowledge of them and their needs. This, together with freshly cooked food by qualified chefs, and high quality surroundings made the decision to move my parents into care a much easier decision which I have never regretted. I cannot praise Vida Hall and its staff too highly.

The gentleman who works on The Glades is extremely patient with residents and so kind and gentle with how he interacts; he is amazing with our gran. He treats residents with respect and dignity, giving the highest quality of care.

Mum is now in her sixth year at Vida Hall and her care throughout has been excellent. Mum celebrated her 100th Birthday in March and thanks to both the management and the amazing staff we were able to enjoy some time with her on her special day as a family and we will be forever grateful. Her care throughout has been exceptional no matter which unit she has been resident in. She has needed to be moved, as her dementia has progressed and her care needs have changed. This has been done seamlessly from the initial assessment to the transition to the new unit. If anyone has any doubts about placing their loved one at Vida, you don't need to have any concerns. The care is focused and individual, the staff are professional, caring and empathetic and the management team keep the standards high. Thank you to all the staff for the love and care you provide our mum, you're amazing!

I have absolute confidence that my parents have the best level of care possible, delivered by the outstanding team at Vida Hall. The staff know my mum and dad and still have the time to get to know me. I am always made to feel welcome and greatly appreciate the care and love that is shown towards me and my family.

My husband has been at Vida Hall since September 2021, and we as a family could not be happier with the care he receives. Vida Healthcare’s beliefs on how individuals living with Dementia should be cared for are exemplary - beliefs which every member of a caring, kind and patient staff, upholds. They have allowed my husband to go about his daily routine freely, whilst keeping a careful watch on him, and have a rapport with him that lets his personality come through. I thank the whole team, not only for his care but for the warmth and support given to our family.

My cousin is in her 4th year at Vida Hall. She has always been given high class care, recently she was transferred to the nursing unit Glade, as she needed extra care. This seems to have been a successful move, and currently is improving. All her needs are catered for by an excellent team of carers and nurses, under whom, all her medical needs are attended to. I have always been highly satisfied with all aspects of her care.

I think that the care staff at Vida have helped me to keep him with his personality intact and enjoying life to the full. Vida has given us both a good life together for the past six years with many more to come.

Dad has been a resident for 18 months. He has gone from strength to strength and is brilliantly cared for on orchard view. He is more engaged and in better physical condition than when he was at home. He is able to communicate daily with Mum via Skype and staff are great at accommodating his routines as he gets agitated when things don’t go according to plan. A birthday pod visit was safe and well organised too.

Our Mum has been a resident at Vida Hall since June 2020, she isn't happy about not being at home but has settled in very well, due to the outstanding support and care of the team. From the House Manager to the carers, you are all amazing! Thank you.

The whole team at Vida Hall are devoted to the care and wellbeing of residents and also the wellbeing of their families. I truly believe that if we had not moved our mum to Vida Hall when we did, she would not be with us today. The nursing home she was in previously, was not geared up for residents with significant dementia and Parkinson’s. The lengths the Vida Hall team go to in providing regular and quality activities to stimulate the minds of residents is above and beyond - they are amazing.

Dad had to go into a care home at the beginning of lockdown. His first experience in care at the previous care home, was appalling as he was asked to leave after 3 days. Anyway, after a lot of worry for me, I came across Vida Hall in Harrogate. From the minute Dad arrived at Vida Grange, where he had two weeks in isolation to moving to Vida Hall, the change in him was astonishing. Dad was no longer like a zombie, he was alert, happy and clean. The staff have been amazing with him, even though he sometimes can be quite a challenge. More importantly, they have made me feel so welcome, even through these challenging times we are living in. I am kept well informed of what’s going on and their webinars are a great method of communication. Everyone that works there has been so caring, from the management to the care staff. I would recommend this home to anyone. Dad seems happy in his dementia world and to me, that’s all that matters. Thank you.
