Cherry Tree House is a nursing home offering general nursing, dementia nursing and complex dementia care in comfortable surroundings which are professional, bright and cheery and have a friendly atmosphere.

A £1m refurbishment, completed in August 2023, has ensured that all rooms and communal areas have been fully updated and redecorated. There is also a library, hair and beauty salon and a beautiful garden area.

All personal care is provided by expert and skilled staff. Each resident receives a personalised care package that is regularly updated to suit their needs.

Cherry Tree House adopts a whole home approach to carrying out meaningful activities with residents. This means that every member of the team is responsible for ensuring that interactions with residents are always relevant to their personal interests and preferences and the way they lived life before they moved to the home.

There is also a weekly programme of group activities which includes themed days, trips out, baking, musicians, entertainers and animal therapy.

Dad has been in the EMI section of the home due to his complex vascular dementia/alzheimers/difficult personality after release from long spell in hospital. Unlike the previous home he was in, the home are fully aware of how Dad's behaviour is 'difficult' and 'challenging'. I know I won't get a call
telling me "your dad has done this ... " with the tone that I have to do something about him. There have been incidents, which they have informed me of, but they have sought advice from GP/community mental health team.


The manager of the section has also been there for me when I've visited and Dad is difficult. The disease has taken away parts of his brain for self control, so his core state is one where he believes he doesn't have anything wrong with him and should not be there, although he doesn't know where he is.

My husband settled in well and believes this is his home. He gets along with all of the staff, even having one or two favourites. My husband has always enjoyed his food and he seems to love the food he receives here. His weight is well managed, as are his complex medical needs. I can't praise the current
nurses highly enough, especially Emmy. The rooms are spacious, with wet room ensuites and are kept clean and well maintained. I have been very happy with my husbands care and know he is safe here, which helps my mental health. My mum was a resident here until July 2021 which is why I wanted my husband to come here to. I too feel well supported by the homes staff.

My overall experience so far has been very good. I feel the staff have been of a caring nature, they treat my friend with the upmost dignity. With full due care of attention, the communication, updates are excellent and feel I know whats happening or any issues that are arising, the management staff

Endless Gratitude
There are no words to truly express our appreciation for everything Cherrytree Care Home did for our dad over the past 11 years. From the carers and nurses to the kitchen staff, housekeeping, and laundry services, every person played a part in making his life comfortable, happy,
and filled with love.

My Dad has resided at Cherry Tree for over a year now and he has settled wonderfully. His needs are consistently met and all the staff make a real effort to ensure he is always comfortable and stimulated. Everyone is so kind and friendly to both my Dad and us as a family. The communication is always
very open and honest and if we, as a family, ever have an queries/concerns they are acted upon swiftly. The home has a wide range of entertainment and activities to cater to all tastes. The chair sports programme has been great as it shows my Dad still has fantastic co-ordination. I particularly love that you can visit at any time of day and are not restricted to how long you stay. At a previous care home the "protected meal times" really impacted any quality time we could spend with my Dad so the freedom of visiting hours has felt very liberating! It is tastefully decorated and very smart, a real home from home- with all rooms ensuite. Overall, can't fault the place!

The care given to my Mum is excellent. All staff are friendly and the management team ensures all requests are met.
The cleanliness of my mum's room is good and the activity leaders go out of their way to brighten up the days.
I would definitely recommend Cherry Tree House as my Mum has been a resident
for 9 years.

My late father's overall care was good. There were a couple of issues that cropped up in relation to updates and Dad not always being amenable to having showers etc. We did manage to resolve with the staff when we communicated our concerns. One point to make, there wasn't much personal information
about my dad's life on his care notes i.e. about his interests, job pre-retiring, myself and my brother did visit often and could have been asked about his background. My father's end-of-life care within the care home was excellent, cannot fault the team on this. They ensured my father had a dignified, pain-free, last few days, communication was not lacking at all in what was needed and the care home was swift to get things in place to make dad's last days peaceful, dignified, and pain-free. The staff were very compassionate, respectful, and supportive to both my father and family that visited particularly in his final few days, we are very grateful to the care team for this.

The lady at the reception is very nice and is always happy and you can get free hot drinks and water from the reception. The staff are very kind, and the activities are good as well and they let me get involved with what's on when I come and visit my grandad.

You always get a nice welcome when you go to the care home and get free hot drinks all the staff are great they are very friendly and the lady in reception is always there with a smile on her face and very polite as well it is a great care home my dad has been in there now for about 4 years now.

The staff is excellent and very friendly, nice rooms - I think depending on who is on shift my grandad's support isn't always there 100% e.g. visits afternoon and still has cereal all over him sometimes as late as 3 pm, and he has a big fluffy sheet to direct to skin and not a bedding sheet (he gets
sweaty with a fluffy sheet to the skin) also stoma bag can be full ready to burst but can be left.

When we heard of Cherry Tree House my family and I arranged to see the home, we were very impressed by it and the dedication shown by the staff.

Lovely home, like a little hotel, very good. When I tell people where my partner lives I am happy and wouldn't move her anywhere. She has settled well, I am happy with the staff and services. In general, I am very happy with the home.
