From day 1, the love, care and dedication of all the staff from management to cleaners to the kitchen staff and all the wonderful carers has been unbelievable. It was a big step to move my mum from her own home with carers into a care home. She settled well and is in excellent spirits. The staff and management at Bridgedale went out of their way to make her feel welcome. All the staff seem to take an interest in my mum as a person. The chef was also keen to accommodate her individual tastes and portion size, to encourage her to eat. For the first couple of weeks, she thought she was on a cruise. Every time I visit, the home is clean. They are very happy to help facilitate phone calls and video calls as a way of staying in contact. As with any dementia, sometimes my mum has got infections and become dis-regulated, but they have stuck with her and done what they could to help support her during the confused episodes. Now that Covid19 is here, six members of staff, chef and deputy manager have volunteered to move in for four weeks to help keep all the residents safe. What a wonderful example of what is possible in a caring, ‘care home’.

The staff are welcoming, patient and caring and my cousin, who suffers from dementia, has only nice things to say about them. Although confused at times, she feels safe and looked after. When we visit, she is always clean and well 'turned out'. We were very apprehensive about placing my cousin in a home and expected her to complain, but she has settled and eats well.
