Over all time The Fairways has 43 reviews.
The staff and management are really lovely and so welcoming and caring. Have always found it a pleasure to visit the home. My mother is very happy living in the home. The home is always very clean and the food is excellent.
Thank you for your kind review. It is much appreciated when staff are recognised for the hard work that they do. I am so pleased that Mum has settled in and is happy.
My father went to The Fairways after he was discharged medically fit from the hospital but was in no state to look after himself. From the minute I contacted the home, the care and service were outstanding. The manager was understanding and really lovely to us and the staff are fabulous. He was really poorly the first two months and he got the best care. The staff called me, kept me up to date and it was clear they genuinely cared. The standard of care is outstanding and my father has decided he wanted to stay at The Fairways and is in better health now than he has been for a long time. I would recommend them to anyone.
Thank you so much for the review and the kind words about The Fairways. The team work hard to provide the best care and it is wonderful for them when this is recognised. I am so glad that Dad is happy here.
From my experience, my mother has been cared for with professionalism, kindness, humour and compassion. She always appears happy when in the company of staff, and is willing to leave with them at the end of my visit. She is always very clean, comfortably dressed, and care is taken doing her hair and helping her put on jewellery. When she has had a medical issue (e.g. 'weeping' eye, STI,) staff are quick to make a doctor's appointment for her and equally prompt to update me about the treatment given. I have always felt welcome to phone at any time, call in too (although not recently, of course!) and my questions and concerns are always answered with the relevant information, and with courtesy. I chose The Fairways after having visited a friend's mother here (several times) and have been very satisfied. During this whole ghastly Covid episode, the staff have been amazing - patient, kind and professional - with both residents and families.
Thank you for your kind review. It is always good to receive positive feedback and we are glad that you are happy with all the care that your Mum receives.
Since taking up residence, my Mum settled in really quickly and easily integrated with other residents. We have been involved with all decisions, whether medical or just practical arrangements required and have held video meetings with staff when face-to-face meetings were not possible. The staff have facilitated video communications with Mum, as well as calls on the telephone and visiting has been made available, subject to safety guidelines and managed really efficiently. There are plenty of activities for residents and Mum is very happy in her new home.
Thank you for your review. We are glad that Mum has settled in and is happy. We are pleased that you have been able to keep in touch with Mum throughout the pandemic and she has taken part in the many activities on offer.
The care home has excellent, well maintained, modern, clean accommodation. The food is of a high quality with choices available. The staff are excellent, very caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. Health monitoring and medication administration of residents is very good and doctors are called in when required. Relatives are kept informed of all medical issues and actions. The coronavirus has meant that the entertainment/activities programme has been restricted over the last year and coupled with very severe company policy (perhaps over-cautious at times) visiting arrangements have led to a deterioration in my parents' mental health. Hopefully, things will get back to normal soon.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always good to have such positive feedback about the staff. During the pandemic, it has been a fine balance between keeping residents safe and well and promoting mental wellbeing. Whilst trips out and entertainment have been restricted, we have still...
Residents have been given as many activities as possible with the circumstances, and the staff have been magnified.
Thank you for your review. I am pleased that you have been able to keep in touch with your relative through this difficult time. Thank you for your kind comments regarding the staff team.
I have been a volunteer in the fairway for a number of years and found the home excellent. The staff are great and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. It’s clean and tidy and a lovely atmosphere looking forward to returning when COVID is over.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We can’t wait to welcome all our volunteers back into the home!
My mum came into the Fairways for respite care. While she was there she received exceptional care and compassion by the management and all the care staff. Mum was treated with the greatest respect and nothing was too much trouble. Although Mum was at the Fairways for a short time, it has helped build up her self esteem and confidence, and she has become more independent. I would defiantly recommend the Fairways for respite or long term care. Thanks to everyone.
Thank you for your wonderful review. We are pleased that your mum enjoyed her stay and that it helped her to feel well enough to return home.
The food is excellent, plenty of choice, hot and well presented.
Activities are varied, plenty of choices every week, so you don't get bored.
The staff are kind and caring. A superb place to go for respite.
My mum entered Fairways a year ago, and I was amazed at how loving and caring the staff were. She enjoyed activities, including trips out and visiting entertainers, and even featured in the local press for her knitting, which delighted her. Recently she has become bedridden due to frailty, but she was not ignored or her needs forgotten. Last week, the staff arranged for her to get up and have her hair set - an incredibly important thing to her. She has since spent a few hours out of bed each day and is thrilled - a real Christmas miracle.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is important that colleagues' hard work and dedication to their role is recognised. I am so glad that we are helping your mum in such a positive way.
My wife and I attend Fairways twice a month: once for the monthly coffee morning, and once for the Special Lunch Day. In addition, I, as a retired Methodist Minister, take evening services at Fairways approximately once a quarter. Fairways is a very modern care home, with excellent facilities. Those I have spoken to are very happy there and well cared for. The staff all seem friendly and efficient and obviously care for the residents. There appear to be a good number of activities for the residents, including excursions. The coffee and cakes and food at lunchtime are of a high standard! The services appear to be much appreciated by those who attend ( there is a first-class chaplaincy team). Words which come to mind are light, spaciousness, warmth, modernity, every provision being taken seriously. The home is open to all - the Christian foundation through MHA is evident. Various panels and number codes ensure residents feel secure. Really great location and views too!
Thank you for your recent review, it is always good to read such lovely comments about the home and staff. We take pride in upholding MHA values and from your recent review, this highlights that we as a home support these. You have rated as Excellent overall - this says it all. I will share your...
We moved here five and a half years ago. I have been very happy living here, at first with my husband for 18 months and then on my own. I have always been treated well and with dignity by staff and management and I am now 95. I can highly recommend The Fairways.
Thank you for your recent review for The Fairways. It's always good to read that you are treated well with dignity by the staff and management. Thank you for highly recommending us. I will ensure that your feedback will be shared with the team.
My mum has been at The Fairways since April this year after a lengthy stay in hospital. She is really well cared for by friendly staff with whom she has built good relationships. She enjoys a wide range of activities and has made friends with other residents. Whilst she would prefer to be able to be at home this is the next best thing.
Thank you for your recent feedback about The Fairways. It’s good to read that your Mum is really well cared for. I'm pleased to read that your Mum enjoys the wide range of activities and has made friends with other residents. I will share this with the staff where positive feedback is very welcomed.
During regular visits have been impressed by a caring/helpful attitude to their residents. As a result, in particular, my wife is now protesting that she is experiencing a wonderful and satisfactory life. My thanks to them all.
We were delighted to read your feedback comments regarding The Fairways and were pleased to see that your Wife feels she is experiencing such a wonderful service. We will ensure the staff are given due praise and thank you for being able to recommend the home to others. Your feedback will be valued by the team.
Wonderful food at The Fairways - homemade and locally sourced, I always look forward to eating with the residents in the deep dark Alzheimers/Parkinsons descent. Staff at the Bistro who provide all the food, are attentive, care (even to visitors) and generous. We ate Christmas dinner there and the service made it such a pleasure. Chef's omelettes are second to none!
Thank you for taking the time to send us such positive feedback. We will ensure the catering team are given the praise you have so readily been able to give.
A lot of time and effort is spent improving the home, with staff and management continuously working towards creating an enjoyable, loving home that cares and supports every individual.
My mother has been at the Care Home for 3 years. I visit most days, interacting with the residents, management and staff on a regular basis. We chose this home for my mother after many disillusioned visits to other establishments. Our feeling that we had found an excellent home on visiting the Fairways has been borne out repeatedly. Before entering the home my mother (99) was becoming very withdrawn, unhappy and consequently awkward. Through getting to understand my mother, providing the attention, a caring attitude, and a great deal of patience, the truly outstanding team have completely turned her around into a happy, outgoing person who is involved in many activities, loves the home and, consequently, a pleasure to be with. It is a great relief to see the quality of life that she has at this time in her life. I really cannot speak highly enough about the effort the excellent management and staff put into the wellbeing, care and support of all the residents at this home. Thank You
Thank you for your kind and positive feedback. The Manager and staff team will be delighted to see that they have brought so much to reassure to you with the care they provide for you Mother, but also that they have brought such new life to your Mother herself.
I am constantly impressed by the caring team at The Fairways. When visiting (always unannounced, I appreciate that we can visit at any time), I have never seen the day staff anything but cheerful, smiling, caring and listening to the residents, despite some challenging issues. The senior carers are attentive, mindful and seem to genuinely care about and feel affection for everyone.
The Fairways itself is always a clean, pleasant environment and I am happy that my father is able to live here. The staff always call me to let me know if anything happens or changes and I feel well informed. There are regular residents' meetings.
I would recommend The Fairways without hesitation.
Thank you for recommending The Fairways. It was so pleasing to see that the staff team are able to give you such confidence regarding the care and support they are able to provide.
We were extremely impressed by the home, staff and facilities.
Resident and staffs good relationships were apparent as we walked around the home, we very much felt at ease and happy that we had found the right home.
It is so vitally important to us that when our services are seen for the first time, the staff team are able to demonstrate a true picture of the care, support and facilities we offer at their best. We never underestimate how important it is to make a life changing decision, to place a loved one in...
My mother suffers from dementia, a really distressing illness; so finding the Fairways Care Home has been such a blessing and relief. Mum has lived there for a year now, and over this time I have been consistently impressed by their standard of care for her and other residents. There is such a friendly, helpful and supportive atmosphere and Mum is always treated with dignity and respect. There is a good variety of activities on offer and Mum is gently encouraged, without any compulsion, to take part - and this is so good for her. Given the sadness of her condition it means such a lot to find somewhere where she is so happy and cared for so well.
It was with such delight to see your gracious comments regarding the care and support your Mother receives at our home. We do understand that to place the care of a loved into the hands of our team requires trust and confidence that you have made the right decision in their best interests, no easy...
