My dad has been in this care home for nearly 12 months, after being admitted originally as respite and then made a permanent resident. In this time he has shown some very challenging behaviour which has been difficult to deal with as his daughter. The staff have been amazing with him, they have adapted
to him and know how to deal with him. The deputy managers are always on hand to speak to and have been very reassuring. My dad is food obsessed and the home have happily organised that he has his favourite meal every day! Thank you so much for the care you give him, and us as a family!

Mum has been living at Colliers Croft Care Home for just over twelve months now after moving there during Covid for respite. Mum has settled so well, she will now be there as her permanent home.
Mum loves the food and all the staff and thoroughly enjoys the entertainment and bingo etc.
The hairdresser
does their hair once a week and she really enjoys the pampering.
Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff and they all treat Mum with utmost care and respect.

My Mum spent the last 2 years of her life at Colliers Croft, having stayed there a short time for respite on a previous occasion.
I can only say that the care given to my Mum, from moving in until the day she passed away, was exceptional.
She initially enjoyed taking part in the activities and socialising
at meal times but sadly such is the nature of frailty and dementia her needs and the things she enjoyed changed over time. The staff always ensured that the care provided reflected this fact. Continual assessment of care needs means that any developing issues are quickly remedied.
The management team are always on hand to listen and support, and any concerns are immediately addressed. They also work closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team to provide seamless and effective care.
The senior care team and all the care staff are angels in my opinion and came to be regarded almost as family.
In addition I cannot praise highly enough the end of life care provided to my Mum.
Outstanding!

Exceptional care home on every level. Staff are really friendly and approachable whilst being extremely professional. Spotless clean home. Residents have various activities on offer to them throughout the week. The staff takes care of my Mother in Law brilliantly and they allow us to enjoy ourselves
as well, for which we are very grateful. Whilst it is not the cheapest of homes it is certainly one of the best.

Mum has been a resident since June 1919. The first eight weeks were very difficult getting Mum to settle in her new environment. The staff were amazing and very patient and caring with Mum when she was quite agitated and aggressive. Staff worked closely with myself and other family members to encourage
Mum to settle, which thankfully paid off as Mum is very happy and content now which is such a relief to us. I cannot speak highly enough about the care home and the staff and would not hesitate to recommend to others.

My aunt has lived here at Colliers Croft for the past 12-months and has been cared for better - than had I still been doing it myself.
The carers are extremely kind and patient; her room is clean and bright, the food is lovely, always freshly cooked and appetising.
All her needs are being met, her
feet are better than when I was looking after them, her medicines are administered safely and regularly. I am always kept involved in her care plan.
We are encouraged to phone/visit as often, and whenever we can take Auntie out, meeting up with family/friends and follow her love of watching Rugby.
The staff know what is important to her; consequently, her bedroom window - was decorated for a special match.
She is able to receive Holy Communion every week and that little service is really important to her.
The hairdressing salon also helps as she has always looked after her appearance and is aware if she doesn't feel smart.
During the lockdown, Colliers put residents needs first, closing prior to Governments advice and are providing clear regular communications.
I never feel like I'm asking too much!

My mother aged 95 lived happily at Colliers Croft for 2 and a half years before she died. When visiting weekly,I usually found Mum at activities or in the resident's lounge. The activities were very varied. All areas of the Home were spotlessly clean and well maintained. Personal clothes were very frequently
washed and returned to the wardrobes. There were colourful and interesting displays along the corridors on various themes.
The carers always treated the residents with respect, patience and with a positive, helpful attitude. Because of the timings of my visits, I saw lunch and tea being served and the food was nutritious, well cooked and appetising. Mum always said the carers were very kind and helpful to her. I had confidence in the way she was being looked after and we were kept well informed as to her wellbeing especially when she began to deteriorate. At the end of her life, I was very pleased with the care she had received and that we had chosen such a lovely Home for her.

Beautiful home which is kept immaculately clean, the staff are amazing with my grandma and have helped make her life as enjoyable as it can be. Always lots of activities on if that's what you like. They seem to genuinely care about the residents. Nowhere is as perfect as your own home but it's without
doubt the nearest we can get to it. We feel comfortable with leaving her knowing she will be well cared for when we can't be with her. The food is really nice and freshly prepared not processed rubbish. We must have looked at over 20 places and without doubt this was top of the list, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.206)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.206) out of 10 for Colliers Croft is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.356 for Colliers Croft is calculated as follows: ( (143 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (8 Poors x 2) + (17 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 191 Ratings = 4.356
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Colliers Croft is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 registered maximum number of service users is 12.4, which has been reached with 14 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
