Due to going into lockdown a week after my friend was admitted my view is rather limited.
I experience great difficulty in contacting staff to ask how my friend is. It sometimes takes up to five phone calls on the same day at different times before it is answered and then when it is transferred to
her floor it is sometimes cut off before I speak to anyone. When I do talk to the staff there is a great difference in their approach with some chatting happily about my friend and others just saying she is fine and doesn't need anything and ringing off. When one has had no time to get to know staff it is rather off-putting.
On the plus side, the 'wave' and proposed visits are thoughtful and helpful.
I have difficulty with the rest of the questions as I did not get to know the home well enough to judge.

My Mother, aged 92, went into Ryeview Manor Care Home in November 2017. She has a very pleasant room with an ensuite shower room which is well maintained and cleaned.
The staff are very patient with my mother who has vascular dementia and at times can be confrontational. She is currently on palliative
care for an end of life situation which is very sad but the carers smile at my mum and joke with her because they know her so well. They put on the music that my mum loves, particularly Frank Sinatra, which always cheers her up. The carers treat my mum with respect and kindness.

My mother has lived at Ryeview for the last four years and during that time her dementia has worsened, leading to some challenging behaviour. I cannot praise the staff enough for their patient and kind attitude towards her. The management of Ryeview are constantly seeking to provide the best care possible
and hold regular meetings with relatives of residents in order to ensure that any concerns are quickly dealt with. They took early action in the Coronavirus situation to prevent the virus entering the home, and all the care staff have done an excellent job in very difficult circumstances. The home itself is modern, clean and well decorated. I am happy to recommend Ryeview as I feel they have taken excellent care of my mum.

My mother has now been at Ryeview for two and a half years.
I am extremely happy with the quality of the care provided and with the facilities and activities and I have recommended Ryeview to several friends who have parents with dementia.
The staff amaze me at times with their kindness, dedication
and professionalism - never more so than since the arrival of COVID. They have worked tirelessly and cheerfully to keep everyone safe and entertained. I am extremely grateful.

Our family is very happy with the care at Ryeview Manor, mainly due to the lovely caring staff who can’t do enough for mum. Mum enjoys the mental stimulation, the friendly company from the other residents, endless cups of tea, good and varied food, with staff genuinely caring about the residents.
The facilities are high quality with lots of communal space, outdoor areas, en suite toilet and shower. Visits from friends and family are encouraged (apart from COVID period!) and mum has been happier at Ryeview during lockdown than she would at home, mainly due to the company.

My Dad didn't want to go into care but once settled is happy at Ryeview. He has a couple of carers in particular who he really gets on well with. Overall it's a nice care home and the staff are all very nice. There are a few issues with cleanliness at times but nothing to worry about. We know that Dad
had been very well looked after during the lockdown and are extremely grateful to all the staff.

Ryeview what a super-efficient home this is. The staff are absolutely lovely and they all work as a team. It's always spotless in the home, and all the residents look happy and the staff always have a smile. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The food always looks lovely and plenty of it. I would
definitely recommend this Care Home 100%.

My friend's mother is living in the care home for the past 2 years and I have visited often. The staff are really approachable and friendly and they always make me feel welcome. My friend's mother did not want to go into a care home but has really settled and now calls it her home. The management team
are friendly and will always spend time talking to you, even when they are busy, my friend's mother likes to join in with the activities and she is always laughing with the staff.

My mother, who has been a resident at Ryeview since early march 2020, has received excellent care and support.
The entire staff has been professional, caring and considerate, not just towards my mother, but towards her family and friends as well. Thank you!

Some excellent staff and good facilities. Very clean building and rooms. Due to the size of the building and large number of staff needed, the staff can vary. Staff retention has been a problem with excellent staff leaving. Resource levels are a problem. When staff on sick or late there is no backup
strategy.

My mother did not want to go into a home, she wanted to stay living with me and my family. However, her needs became too great for me to manage. The staff were happy to talk to me frequently before and was admitted and she has settled and is very happy within two weeks. The staff are all fabulous and
I am so relieved. Thank you.

Wanted to put on record how impressed I and other family members have been regarding the care shown to your resident who passed away on 31st August after several years at Ryeview. We are very grateful for the kindness and compassion she received during her time with you. Thank you to all involved in

Staff at Ryeview Manor have been caring and have worked well with our family to help my mother settle in. Her room looks lovely thanks for help from maintenance staff. She is always well dressed when we come and visit. Medication is given on time and it is obvious that the home is keen that residents
should feel like individuals. There are a wealth of activities, catering for artistic and musical tastes. The food is nice and staff often offer my two-year-old a biscuit. Staff are very friendly.

Very satisfied with all aspects of Ryeview Manor Care Home. There is a friendly, caring atmosphere and it is a pleasure to visit my wife there. All our family are happy that she is in this home as we all feel welcome when we visit and enjoy doing so.
Since my wife went to Ryeview in mid-October 17
we have seen a marked improvement in her physical condition. She looks much better now and is clearly well looked after.

Our mum sadly only spent 14 months here out of her 4 years in care. As a family, we wish we had known of Ryeview sooner. The loving care and support our mum received was excellent. The management in particular were always efficient in dealing with any concerns and showed our mum such respect at all
times. A shining example of a good care home.

Our experience has been beyond expectation.
From day one of my wife coming to the home, I have had the complete support from all members of staff and was welcomed by 3-4 carers who were friendly yet highly professional. I was made aware of who would predominantly be looking after my wife which reassured
me during this difficult time. Quick and decisive action was taken following a psychotic episode by my wife which lead to a much needed mental health assessment and review of her medication. The home offers a secure and safe environment. I have no doubt my wife has been cared for to an exceptional level and cannot thank you enough.

My mum was at Ryeview for 18 months before she passed away in December. She was a very sociable lady and enjoyed being there, the staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. I loved visiting her there and went in most days, we felt that the staff were our friends and she loved listening to
all their news. Everyone had a smile and I miss going in to see them all.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.887)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.887) out of 10 for Ryeview Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.508 for Ryeview Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (82 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 120 Ratings = 4.508
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.379 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ryeview Manor Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 94 registered maximum number of service users is 18.8. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 18.8 = 0.479
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

I began my career in care over 20 years ago, driven by a deep passion for making a positive impact on people’s lives and a genuine desire to support those in need with compassion and commitment. From the very start, I found immense fulfilment in helping individuals maintain their dignity and quality of life while building meaningful connections along the way.

Over the past 10 years with B&M Care, I have had the privilege of growing within the company, starting as a Senior Care Assistant and progressively taking on more responsibility. Completing the Leadership Pathway Management course was a pivotal moment in my journey with B&M, equipping me with the essential skills and knowledge to transition into management.

My dedication to the values of compassion, connection, and commitment—along with continuous personal and professional development—ultimately led me to my current role as Interim Home Manager, where I have the opportunity to lead and inspire a dedicated team in delivering exceptional care to our residents.
