My father is very happy at Rubislaw Park. Tthe improvement in him since he has been there is remarkable. He loves the food and there is plenty of activities to keep him busy. There are lots of areas we can visit and enjoy privacy. The Bar is fabulous.

Rubislaw is a wonderful environment where you are always made to feel welcomed. My dad moved in late September 2018, and due to the patience and support of the staff, this went very smoothly where he is settled, happy and very well looked after. For my family this is so very reassuring. The staff are
friendly and engaging with him, having taken time to know what he likes. He loves the food which is homemade and there is always a great variety of choices. Rubislaw is a lovely care home and I know we have chosen the perfect place for my dad.

I have visited the resident on numerous occasions and always found him to be happy and well cared for.
He is always clean and his clothes also.
His room is comfortable - cosy and he enjoys watching football there in the evenings.
He looks forward to mealtimes and enjoys the snacks in between.
It's
a pleasure visiting.

My dad has been a resident for approximately 6 weeks and I am so happy with the care and support he has been given. The staff on the unit are so caring and aware of his needs, always there to provide help, keep him going with 'chat' and activities. This is the most content I've seen my dad for quite
some time and I firmly attribute this to the staff at Rubislaw Park who are making a great job of looking after him. Could not fault, care, facilities and staff!

My husband was there for 2 weeks respite care and found it to be a very friendly, caring and comfortable experience - especially as this was his first respite. I found the staff to be very professional and very caring and did their best to keep my husband happy and motivated at all times - which can
be quite difficult with Alzheimer's.

Rubislaw Park is like a hotel, with all the best décor and facilities.
The staff are all excellent with my mother, who has been a resident for 6 years.
We are all extremely happy with her care, it's the best we have seen anywhere and would recommend it to anyone.
As a footnote, the staff have been
particularly good with my elderly dad who visits my mum, which is a great help to me, living remotely.

On writing on behalf of my mum.
The care home made this unusual request of staying here for 1 week as one of mum's last requests to visit Aberdeen to see family and friends.
She was very happy with everything at the care home.
The staff were extremely professional and friendly.
They made us feel
very welcome throughout her stay and treated my mum with dignity.
We cannot thank the staff enough for their love respect and dedication to their work.

We were very happy with the care our great aunt received whilst a resident of Rubislaw Park House. The staff are very professional and have loads of patience with the residents. The home itself is very clean and tidy. Meals were of good quality and plentiful, not to mention the snacks, cups of tea that
were always being offered to the residents and visitors. When we lost our great aunt in early March, the staff did everything they could to make her last few days comfortable and at all times respected her dignity whilst providing the best care to her.

My great aunt has been a resident since May 2014. She has received the best of care and all the staff have been so very kind and attentive towards her with her dementia behaviour could be very challenging and yet the staff did their best to try and keep her calm. In the last four days, my great aunt's
health has deteriorated. The staff have been amazing not just to her but also to us. They have supported us well during this sad time. I would personally like to thank the carers and staff nurse.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.643)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.643) out of 10 for Rubislaw Park Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.813 for Rubislaw Park Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (173 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 203 Ratings = 4.813
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.83 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rubislaw Park Care Home is based on 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 86 registered maximum number of service users is 17.2. 16 Positive Reviews ÷ 17.2 = 0.93
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
