My mother appears to be well looked after here. Staff are all pleasant and supportive and my mother seems very comfortable with them. Management are very willing to listen to any concerns and to make suggestions about how to change things for the better. I am extremely grateful to know that my mother is in safe hands.
Thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. Were delighted to hear that your mother feels comfortable and well cared for, and its wonderful to know our teams support and approachability have made a positive difference. Your gratitude means a great deal to us, and we truly value the trust you place in our care. If there is ever anything more we can do, we are always here to listen.
Everyone I came into contact with went out of their way to reassure and to help both the resident and the family.
The bedrooms and the public areas are lovely and spotlessly clean.
Overall an outstanding care home.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review of your experience of Milngavie Manor during your relatives respite stay - it is much appreciated and we will ensure your positive feedback is passed onto all of the team at the home. Best wishes.
The home is very much to our taste regarding cleanliness and the staff always have her dressed smartly and her hair is always done. The food is first class and she very much enjoys it. Activities are extremely good albeit she doesn’t always join in as she gets tired sometimes.
The home has a mini-bus and Mum and other residents enjoy being taken out on outings fairly regularly. Very pleased with the new manageress who is always ready to listen to any concerns that we may have.
I would thoroughly recommend this home to others who are looking for a care home where they can be assured that their loved ones will be well looked after.
Milngavie Manor has the most excellent facilities and care staff. My wife is getting the best attention and care possible and it’s a great relief to me to know that she is so well looked after. I have no hesitation in giving the home 5 stars in every category.
The care of our Mum is exemplary. There is a detailed knowledge of her needs and wishes and very good monitoring of her complex health conditions. Standards of cleanliness are excellent. In short all the staff show her and us daily how they care for her.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review - we are incredibly proud of our exceptional team!
Lovely décor and activities on at Christmas. Beautiful table set for Christmas lunch. Staff always kind and caring. Helpful too in assisting with making my mum ready for appointments off-site. Super clean too.
After my father had a severe stroke, I came to visit the home daily for a few hours over a ten-day period whilst my family recovered from bouts of Covid. As a frequent, persistent visitor during that time, I was able to observe multiple "days in the life" of my father in the home. He has lived there for one and a half years and this is the latest stage in his decline. The carers were superb, thoughtful, sensitive, caring in the complete sense of the word. Food was oof the scale excellent and enjoyed. The new manager was great, listened, acted, took on board feedback and was knowledgeable. Great nurses too, with the right medical treatments and proactivity. Deeply impressed.
I have been impressed by the level of care my husband has received and the professional standards shown by the staff. He has a pleasant spacious room and enjoys the meals served. The staff always have time to talk and discuss any issues
We could not have found more loving and caring staff for our dad who had dementia and whose home was Milngavie Manor for the last two years. So supportive to my mum too. Speaks volumes about the calibre of their staff, that each evening after ending their shifts, they stopped by my dad's room, to spend time with him and his children when he was on palliative care.
Personable, professional and able staff provide my mum with a safe and stimulating environment. I can't fault the level of care that she receives at Milngavie Manor. This has been a very successful move for her.
There are so many positives that Milngavie Manor stands out from the crowd and from other existing care homes.
Whenever I visit, there is always a feeling of friendliness and helpfulness and the continual excellent dedication and care from each staff member, throughout all departments, is clearly evident.
Very happy to see the new manager making her presence known to residents and visitors alike, adding to that 'cared for experience' it would be good if Hamberley Care Homes would acknowledge the hard-working staff, especially during staff shortages where they are stretched and undervalued.
Thank you very much for your review, it's a pleasure for us to care for Mum at Milngavie Manor.
All staff are extremely professional, attentive and appear highly skilled.
The public areas are well furnished and there is a high level of cleanliness noticeable throughout.
Residents bedrooms are warm, well decorated and personalised. The en-suite bathrooms are kept spotlessly clean.
Food appears to be nutritious, varied and plentiful.
In my opinion the staff and management really do get to know their clients. They communicate regularly with me about my aunt's care and I feel that they listen to any concerns that I may have and act quickly to reassure me.
As my aunt has advanced dementia she can get very agitated and anxious at times. During such times I have witnessed how the care staff show patience in calming, reassuring and redirecting her.
It is a great comfort to me to know that my aunt is treated with respect and dignity and is well cared for.
I can’t recommend Milngavie Manor highly enough.
I am very happy with the care my aunt has been receiving at Milngavie Manor since moving from another care home three months ago. I believe she is being very well cared for with staff keeping me well informed on how she is settling in and with regards to her health and wellbeing. All members of staff I have met, management, reception, cleaners, carers, nurses, and entertainment staff, are all very approachable and appear to be doing a great job in these challenging times. The chefs do a wonderful job keeping the residents fed, the quality and variety of food is great. All areas of the home are well maintained and are kept very clean - residents' rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, as are the common areas (lounges, dining rooms, cafe etc). I would have no hesitation recommending Milngavie Manor for a loved one.
I'm delighted with the care given to my husband over the past 3 months. I appreciate the effort made during a period of lockdown to keep all the residents safe. From the reception, personal care staff, the cleaning and laundry staff and the catering staff, all have been supportive of my husband's needs.
Thank you very much for your kind words, it's our pleasure to provide care.
Staff are very good, and nothing is too much trouble.
The establishment is clean and tidy with nice decor.
Food is good and nourishing.
Entertainment is well planned and fun.
I have no complaints.
Lovely home, really is luxury but homely at the same time. Got everything you need, cafe, cinema and nice gardens. My aunt loves it and would recommend anyone to visit.
I am very happy with the care my husband has received at Milngavie Manor. The staff are attentive and always willing to attend to my husband's needs. There is always a well-cooked, tasty and varied menu available at mealtimes. A variety of events and activities take place every week, residents choir, painting, exercise, book club, musical entertainment to name a few. I always feel welcome when I visit and often join in the activities with my husband.
The staff are great with my mother and now know all her needs.
It will be her 95th birthday in July and will organise something for her at Milngavie Manor.
The only negative is the closure of the coffee shop as we used to take her there for coffee and cake. Any change this could function again.
My very independent mother was admitted to Abbotsford House (Milngavie Manor) in Oct 18, following us struggling at home for 18 months. I am amazed and delighted she has settled so well. As a retired nursing sister with over 40 years experience, I would recommend this home for anyone in the same position. The staff give an exceptionally high standard of care at the same time keeping a homely atmosphere.
My late Mother was one of the first ever residents to enter Abbotsford Luxury Suites back in December 2017. My mother (82) suffered from dementia which Abbotsford Luxury Suites specialises in, plus the beautiful setting and stunning facilities made the families decision to choose Abbotsford Luxury Suites a very easy one.
I'm often away on business so it was important to know that my Mum was well looked after in a homely environment. There's also a hairdresser and Latte Da Cafe which added another amazing benefit. My Mum's friends could visit her and treat her to her favourite coffee and a homemade scone.
I cant praise the staff and level of care enough. My Mum took poorly over Christmas and was released from hospital in January back to Abbotsford Luxury Suites for palliative care. I can't thank all of the team for the unbelievable care and compassion that was shown in my Mum's final days. So if you're considering Abbotsford Luxury Suites for your loved ones then take a visit and you won't be disappointed.
Thank you for the superb review of the home, staff and care. We are thrilled to hear such positive feedback.
Mum was a pleasure to care for and is missed by both the staff and residents.
In addition, yourself and the family had been a great support to us here in the home and had become part of the extended Abbotsford Suites Family.
With much gratitudeSusan Leung
