Beachside Residential Home

We came across this care home when my 61-year-old brother needed residential care following a stroke. After an incredibly difficult eight weeks, we had many worries about him moving into a care home, especially at such a young age.

From the moment he walked through the door, those worries began to disappear. He was made to feel that this was his home and encouraged to treat it as his own. The staff have gone above and beyond every single day, showing him genuine kindness, patience, dignity and compassion.

They have also made our whole family feel welcome and supported. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and we feel completely reassured that our brother is being cared for as a person, not simply a resident.

In less than a week, we have already seen a huge improvement in his mood and wellbeing. After everything he has been through, seeing him happier and more settled means the world to us.

We genuinely could not recommend this home highly enough.

Context: My mum and I have been caring for my Gran for 4 years with very little support. We have tried carers in Blackpool and gone through many privately funded carers to gain support, with little staying power. My Nan hated going and was not always satisfied with some of the people taking her out. We had gotten to a point where we needed respite, due to carer burnout and we stumbled upon Beachside by chance as it is newly open.

Review: Nan loves Beachside, she has been attending there for nearly 3 months now on a Monday as part of their day centre offer. Before she would come back agitated from previous and pacing, now she comes back happy and content. Beachside provide an update every visit with pictures and information on eating and drinking. We liked them so much that Nan has just completed a week's respite with them, which she thoroughly enjoyed, they gave me updates when I needed them, took her out and about whilst entertaining her based on her own likes. Highly recommend!
