I find the staff very friendly and helpful. One carer in particular will assist me immediately when requested. Lunch is good - at least 3 vegetables are offered.

I was cared for and looked after very well. All the staff were very nice and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them if I had a request or problem. I enjoyed my stay and would choose this care home again if needed.

My mum has been in this home approximately 10 months. In her last home she never left her room, but here she has made a couple of friends and now joins in most of the activities. All the staff are extremely friendly, kind and helpful. Although there has been quite a bit of movement in the staff. The
rooms are on the small side, but adequate and have all the required mod-cons. The caretaker is on hand to put up pictures and shelves to make it homely. I would highly recommend this home. It gives the family peace of mind that mum is happy and well cared for.

I was made very welcome on arrival. At all times the staff were considerate and helpful. I enjoyed all the meals especially in my room every day.
I would have enjoyed more challenging mental activities, the music and movement was pleasant and helpful. When I need respite again Bury Lodge will be first
on my list. Thank you very much.

Mum was well looked after and treated well by very friendly staff. The home is only a few months old. Mum liked the food, which was good because she is very fussy. Also on visits and phone calls they were very kind and understanding to me.

My mother spent 7 weeks at this care home for a period of respite. The idea of the respite was for her leg to improve having broken her fibula and become more mobile during her stay, this was achieved. The home and staff were very welcoming to all the family and it was a very positive experience.
When
telephoning the home regularly to speak to my mother the staff were always very obliging and each time I was able to speak to her. The standard of care was excellent particularly as my mother needed a lot of assistance during the night throughout her whole visit.

My mother was admitted to Bury Lodge for a few weeks respite care. The home is new and everything is clean and fresh and the bedrooms have ensuite shower rooms and are well designed. There is a peaceful conservatory which is a lovely place to sit and admire the flowers in the garden and regular activities
are organised for those who wish to participate. The staff are extremely helpful, kind and caring and mum has nothing but praise for them.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.529)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.529) out of 10 for Bury Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.729 for Bury Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (72 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.729
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bury Lodge Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 31 registered maximum number of service users is 6.2, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

My journey with B&M family started in 2021 as deputy manager at White plains Care home in Denham. I brought with me over 20 years of experience in a care sector mainly working with elderly and those living with dementia. I am eager to developpe professionally and have completed Level 4 RMA and graduated B&M’s Leadership pathway. In June 2024 opportunity arose to join Bury Lodge Care home as a manager and I felt privileged to be working in an environment that is improving people’s quality of life and building a Home from Home for our residents and their families. We have a well-established team who are providing a high level of care with compassion, patience and dignity.
