Byron House Care Home

Byron House is a lovely, homely, welcoming care home. Mum has settled well and the care she has been shown has been exceptional. Family and friends are welcomed, and are even invited to join some of the activities. I think this really helps the residents feel more at home. Being a smaller home gives it a lovely, intimate feel, without being overwhelming, which is perfect for Mum.

The only downside we can think of, is the almost constant noise (beeps) from the call system, but this is ignored after a while.

My uncle has improved amazingly since being here. Healthwise he has very good care. Mentally he is so much better. The staff are lovely and very caring. He has a good rapport with them. They are also very chatty and friendly with us. They always inform me what is happening with my uncle. We are extremely happy with the care he is receiving.

I am in awe of the staff who are all so caring and attentive, they go above and beyond for their residents. The home is well-run by a fantastic, caring management team, the staff here are angels and I can't thank them enough.

My mother has been so happy at Byron House Care Home since the first day she arrived. The home has a lovely, relaxed feel to it and the staff are all so friendly and helpful. Residents are treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Any health issues my mother has had have been swiftly attended to. The communal rooms are spacious, bright and cheery and there is always something going on to make life interesting there.

Since moving to Byron House Care Home, my sister has been far more settled and much happier. She is treated with respect and the staff are friendly and extremely patient with her. She is settled enough to let us leave without trying to stop us or getting upset. Excellent care.

I am so happy and relieved to have found a care home that is able to meet my mum's complex needs (after a bad previous experience at another home). Staff are kind, caring, responsive and supportive of Mum's family as well as her. I cannot praise this home highly enough.

The friendly, family atmosphere greatly impressed all the members of our family and friends who visited her during her stay. The high standard of its decor, equipment and food goes without saying and the care provided was exemplary.

All the staff were excellent in making Mum comfortable and attended to all her needs with dignity and compassion to the very end of her life.

My friend's stay was cut short by her death which was such a shame as she did not benefit for longer.

Byron House is a lovely, small house that has a community feel to it. The staff are very friendly and caring and often take their time to get to know the resident and their families.

Byron House is a small well-run nursing home. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Every consideration is given to the residents and their needs. Everywhere is kept very clean and is welcoming.

Mum has been a resident at Byron House for over a year and has been happy here. She enjoys the food and the activities she takes part in. Without exception, the staff are friendly and caring and are always concerned to see that Mum is well looked after. In Mum's words, she is content here and we are pleased that we chose Byron House at the time that Mum needed more care and looking after.

The care received by my wife's uncle has been excellent in every aspect. I have been to the home every day and can't fault its care and organisation. His health has improved dramatically since his admission.

Byron House is excellent! The staff are brilliant and are extremely professional, caring, patient and considerate. The staff spend a lot of time with the residents and create a really warm and friendly family atmosphere. We feel lucky that Byron House had a room available when we were looking for permanent nursing care for my uncle. It so well deserves its CQC rating of 'outstanding'. Brilliant!

My lonely friend wasn't happy or settling in her previous home, however, moving her to Byron House was the best decision ever. The staff are amazing and she is definitely getting the care she needs. She had lost a lot of weight (too much), however, since arriving at Byron House she has started to put some on. We are really happy with everything, just wish we had moved her sooner. Thank you.

My mother, who until recently lived in her own home and was supported by carers. She has sadly spent six weeks in hospital, and as Byron House has such wonderful reviews, I visited with a view to making it Mum’s new home. Unfortunately, a hospital poorly and incorrectly discharged her to Byron House. Although this could have been a potentially worrying experience, I need not have been concerned. This is when I knew I had made a brilliant choice! The team were so caring, attentive and thoroughly professional. They engaged with Mum, doctors, and the hospital and spoke kindly and fairly with me, her daughter to create a plan. There was no limit on their time or care. Mum is currently seeing a Doctor at the local hospital, which is in her best interest, but I have full confidence in every member of staff at Byron House for Mum’s imminent return. As someone who recognises teamwork and support, I have great admiration for every one of the excellent teams I saw in action today. Thank you.

Mum had the best care possible at Byron House, staff very attentive and helpful. Food was great and the house is spotlessly clean. Overall the care home is one of the best in the local area and would highly recommend to others.
