Set in ¾ of an acre of beautiful landscaped gardens Carseld Residential Home, was formerly a farmhouse built in the early 1800s.

It is located on the outskirts of Broughton, North Lincolnshire close to the market town of Brigg, within easy reach of Scunthorpe and the motorway network.

The home has been recently refurbished and modernised to provide 18 single and 2 double bedrooms (some with en-suite), wet rooms, disabled toilets, 2 well-appointed lounges, an orangery and dining room - giving residents ample room to relax, take part in activities or watch TV.

All of the bedrooms have either an open countryside or a garden view -
ideal for those who like wide open spaces.

As part of the refurbishment and modernisation programme, a rehabilitation room has been created. This room is self-contained with a fully equipped wet room and kitchen area, enabling residents to keep their independence following an illness or hospital stay.

This is Mum's second stay at Carseld Care Home. She has been here three years now due to her health. Every time we visit we are made welcome. Mum always tells us how happy she is and how wonderful the food is with lots of fresh vegetables! There is a lovely atmosphere at Carseld that makes it feel like
a family home rather than a hotel or clinical space.

This is a wonderful care home. I prefer to call it the Carseld Family Home. All of the staff are excellent, kind, caring, and make every effort to meets Mum's sometimes complex needs. All done with a smile and a reassuring word. My mum was happy, safe, and well looked after. I can't recommend Carseld
enough. A gold standard of care is on offer here. My heartfelt thanks to the Carseld Family.

Whilst my aunt was a member of the Carseld family she received exemplary care and support. She was settled, happy and very comfortable there. When I visited I was always made to feel welcome and was kept informed regarding any concerns or health problems. As a small home, they are able to treat residents
as individuals and the care staff and home managers work very hard to look after residents really well.

My mother was so lucky to have been in Carseld. It has a really homely atmosphere. The staff were lovely and we trusted them absolutely. They really did care and care about the residents. My mother thought very highly of them. They have an activities coordinator and they did interesting and enjoyable
activities. Food is excellent and all homemade. Residents are treated with dignity and respect and as individuals, they call themselves the Carseld Family. It was like a family. Lovely place. Can't praise it high enough.

Throughout Mum's stay (4 years) the staff were kind and considerate. The care was dignified and respectful. Mum was able to make her own choices and she was encouraged to be independent enabling her to regain her mobility. Activities were varied, lots of themed events and visits out (pre-Covid)! Meals
were tasty and using fresh ingredients, as a retired cook - Mum seems impressed. The family have always been grateful for the loving care given to Mum.

At a time that is uncertain, Carseld has been exceptional. They were in the ball at the start of the pandemic in their effort to protect our loved ones, they have entertained and cared for them and have helped us to keep in touch from a distance. The communication has been again excellent, and this
has been crucial at a time when we are all missing our relatives. The food at Carseld is all homecooked and always looks very appetising and the home is always spotless. I never wanted mum in a home but I am happy with every aspect of her care.

Due to an illness I needed respite care following a recommendation I chose to go to Carseld residential home. I was reluctant and nervous about going into a care home but my fears and concerns were soon washed away I can hand on heart say it is like home from home. All the staff were friendly and couldn't
do enough for me. If the time ever came that I needed to go into a care home again Carseld would be my choice. I would recommend this home to anybody.

Dad lost his mobility late last year and came into Carseld. We don't know what we would have done without them. The whole team were very welcoming and it is just like one big family. Dad is treated with respect and dignity, we know he can be a bit awkward at times but the staff are always patient and
caring. They do lots of activities and there is a lot of laughter. We are happy to know dad is clean, fed (he loves the grub) and safe.

Mum has been struggling to cope with medication and everyday tasks. Since being in Carseld, she looks so much better, better colour in her face and she is clean and comfortable. She enjoys her meals and nothing seems too much trouble for the staff. She has been in hospital three times since admission,
with medical attention arranged in a very timely manner.

What a wonderful family orientated home.
The residents all seemed very happy. A clean home with friendly and very accommodating staff.
I came here as a visitor (by request) with my puppy for pet therapy. The residents really enjoyed our visit. Will definitely be coming again and would recommend this
home without hesitation.

My dad had two weeks respite care in Carseld. He has come out with a new lease for life. He loved the staff and was really treated with care and respect as well as having a laugh with him. Dad is a chatterbox and loved the interaction. Dad loved the food and said it was like being in a hotel. He is
already talking of going back. Thank you so much to all your dedicated staff.

I have had experience of a number of different care homes. My mother-in-law is presently at Carsled Care Home, she is 91 years old and has never been happier.
When you enter the home, the first thing you notice is the sound of folk engaging in conversation, laughter and now since my mother-in-law became
a resident, singing!
The staff are all marvellous, from the home’s manager right across the board, they obviously enjoy engaging with the elderly residents and their families. I recently sat in and took part in a residents/families/staff meeting and was impressed by the way residents needs were addressed, I met the owner of the home and was surprised when at the end of our conversation she made this statement “ Remember this is not only your mother-in-law's home, it is your home as well."

Only yesterday (27th June) my mother-in-law and a number of her fellow residents went on a day outing to the seaside where they enjoyed a spell on the promenade followed by fish and chips, doughnuts and ice cream.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.796)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.796) out of 10 for Carseld is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.096 for Carseld is calculated as follows: ( (38 Excellents x 5) + (32 Goods x 4) + (19 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 94 Ratings = 4.096
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Carseld is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 22 registered maximum number of service users is 4.4, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
