Set in ¾ of an acre of beautiful landscaped gardens Carseld Residential Home, was formerly a farmhouse built in the early 1800s.

It is located on the outskirts of Broughton, North Lincolnshire close to the market town of Brigg, within easy reach of Scunthorpe and the motorway network.

The home has been recently refurbished and modernised to provide 18 single and 2 double bedrooms (some with en-suite), wet rooms, disabled toilets, 2 well-appointed lounges, an orangery and dining room - giving residents ample room to relax, take part in activities or watch TV.

All of the bedrooms have either an open countryside or a garden view -
ideal for those who like wide open spaces.

As part of the refurbishment and modernisation programme, a rehabilitation room has been created. This room is self-contained with a fully equipped wet room and kitchen area, enabling residents to keep their independence following an illness or hospital stay.

I am extremely happy with the care and support in which both of my parents receive while they are in the care of Carseld. The manager has always got time to talk to myself and give me advice where required and always takes time out to sit with my parents during their respite. The care staff have always
got time to assist my parents with daily tasks and they both enjoy the time which they spend there.
The home is beautifully presented and is always clean and tidy. My parents enjoy all of the meals that they have while they are there and are offered a cup of tea regularly throughout the day and also on request from my parents. I can not thank the staff and manager for the care they give my parents enough, I feel at ease knowing they are so well looked after.

My uncle stayed at Carseld for 10 days in respite care. We have had several occasions where we have needed respite in the area so we have experienced a few homes, this was the best by far, so much so that if/when a time comes in the future for my uncle to require permanent residency this is the home
we would choose.
He was very comfortable there, he only had good things to say about his stay, the staff were on the ball all the time and couldn't do enough for him, the surroundings where very pleasant and the place has a cosy and homely feel. Most importantly the food was excellent, really good quality, home cooked tasty food.

It is the best time I have been in a home. I was a bit wary at first. I have been treated with respect and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are kindness itself. The home is comfortable and very friendly.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.513)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.513) out of 10 for Carseld is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.538 for Carseld is calculated as follows: ( (157 Excellents x 5) + (54 Goods x 4) + (20 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 236 Ratings = 4.538
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Carseld is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 22 registered maximum number of service users is 4.4, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
