We, as a family cannot thank everyone at Elm Park Care Home, Woodlands enough for the love, care, compassion and professionalism shown to our dear dad throughout his time there and especially during his final weeks as he bravely battled Lewy body dementia.
Every single member of staff treated our special dad with such dignity and kindness. From the senior nursing staff, to all the carers and the cleaning staff, every person showed genuine warmth and compassion towards him and always treated him with upmost respect.
They truly couldn't do enough for him and made sure he was always comfortable, cared for and never without warmth or reassurance. It gave our family such peace knowing he was being looked after with so much genuine love and compassion.
The staff on Mitchell Suite were quite simply amazing. Their patience, understanding and support meant the world to us and we will never forget the tenderness and care they showed not only to our dad, but to all of our family.

Thank you

Our mum was at Elm Park for 3 years, totally bed bound the whole time. The room was the most spacious and attractive we could find in the whole area - particularly important for her as she retained mental capacity. She was looked after by the staff with great care and genuine affection.

In her last days the support she and we received was outstanding - I don't see how it could have been any better. I was particularly struck by how many of the staff came to say goodbye, some in tears.

Putting your mum into care is an incredibly difficult decision. Thanks to all at Elm Park, for your support and care.

Mum spent her last 4.5 years here on her journey with dementia. She was loved and cared for to a very high standard. The residents here enjoy 3 healthy meals a day midday snacks and ice-cream. The activity crew keep them entertained and stimulated.

Mums end of life care was outstanding. She was kept comfortable, medicated and dignified right until her last breath. Her exit from the care home was done with upmost respect. The whole experience was overwhelmingly beautiful. Thankyou so.much. on the day of mums funeral. Leaving from Elm park we were welcomed with a trolley of drinks and nibbles . Mum was walked out by a number of staff members showing respect for mum. Really can't thank you enough. I will continue to visit the residents who I have grown to love. Thankyou also for making me feel so welcome.

My close friend is in your home. Her level of care is poor. I am concerned that she is not being changed because on 4 occasions her husband has found her in bed that is by bowel and urine wet through. On 2 occasions, her bed frame has also been covered in bowel and urine, so it seems she has not been kept clean. I have photos on my phone of her last injury. Why was she left unattended in her wheelchair? He head injury looks shocking. Not enough space to conclude this matter. When the last letter was sent, we had a review with the area manager, which did not last long.

I just wanted to share how fabulous Elm Park Care Home is. The staff at Elm Park cared for my grandmother for around 7 months before she passed away. During this time they looked after her like she was their own relative, nothing was too much trouble, they treated her with dignity and respect. Nurses here knew more than the doctors did with relation to medication that was safe for her to have administered, with her previous medical history. During her final days, the nurse contacted my mum and advised that we need to spend as much time with my grandmother, as she was deteriorating. For 3 full days and nights, 4 of us stayed with my grandmother, no restrictions were placed on our visitation.

Nothing was too much for staff, they were kind, considerate and compassionate. The home itself has many amenities, the food is great, the place is clean and it is very secure. I cannot give the care home and the staff enough praise, they deserve the premier league football player wage.

I am generally quite happy with the care my mum receives. She has settled in well into the home and has grown fond of the carers. My biggest concern is that the home was recently visited by CQC and they doubled the amount of staff that were working for their visit. Why? If the home thinks that that this is what the staffing level should be to pass a CQC visit then why isn't it like that all the time?

My mum came into Elm Park on the back of a really long hospital stay. When mum arrived she was so very poorly, really frail and struggled with basic tasks - that was 10 weeks ago. The change in her due to the care, support and time given by the Elm Park team is nothing short of miraculous. She went out today to the theatre to watch a play. I am still in shock because mum has improved so much both physically and mentally and that is down to the care and support she receives from this wonderful care home. Thank you! Mum is the love of my life and all the time with her is precious you have given us.

My mother went into Elm Park Care Home for a weeks respite care. All the staff showed great compassion and care from the minute she entered the building. They assessed her needs and catered for everything to help make her stay very comfortable and memorable. The room was really well equipped and very clean. The choice of food was really beyond what I expected. The activities gave a very wide selection and everybody seemed to enjoy taking part.

This was my husband's first respite it took him two days to settle in and really enjoyed the rest of the week. The only criticism is TV was broken in the room only allowing Channell 4. Found all the staff excellent. The food is very good.

My mum was in Elm Park from Feb 2023 until she passed away recently. I visited nearly every day and was struck by the care, kindness and love she was shown by everyone, regardless of their role. Everyone had time to talk to her and make her feel special. In her final days the compassion shown by staff was reassuring to me and my family and for that we will be forever grateful

Our mother was a resident for almost 4 years and the quality of care and attention was always 100% from all departments and staff. The end-of-life care she received was amazing and appreciated by all family members. We were made so comfortable by all staff which made a difficult time easier to go through. Our thanks go to all at Elm Park and words cannot express our family's gratitude.

This care home is the best I've ever been in. It is clean, all staff are polite, clean, courteous and respectful to both residents and their families. As someone who has worked in the ambulance service for over thirty-eight years, I have been in most care homes in the area, Elm Park is the best bar none. We were so lucky to have my mum put here. She certainly has improved in herself with all the attention she receives daily and all the activities. We have nothing but praise for each and every member of staff who looks after my mum, thank you.

Staff on duty are friendly and treat our mum like their own family. Mum has 24-hour care, a nice room, good communal facilities and activities are provided. Mum is cared for with dignity, respect, compassion and support. We feel confident that if we are unable to visit daily she is well looked after and her needs are met.

My mum has been a resident at Elm Park for over two years now, nursing care is 100%. The carers are on top form, so loving and caring and very attentive. The entertainment team have a large variety of stimulating activities to suit all the residents. The place is spotless and the food is to hotel standard. Definitely deserves a five-star rating.

Mum has been at Elm Park for over two years. It's been the best decision we made. The staff are absolutely lovely, polite and hard working. Nothing is too much trouble for the team who look after mum, they have been excellent. Nursing care is 100%, every need has been catered for. From staff, caterers, management, hairdressers and cleaners, all are faultless. They all know and acknowledge mum.

I would definitely recommend Elm Park Care Home, it is of a very high standard and more like a 5 star hotel than a nursing home. There is always a pleasant atmosphere and all the staff are professional, kind and caring. I am very glad that my Dad is at Elm Park. He is very well cared for.

As a family, we had to take our Dad out of another care home in the area and had Elm Park recommended to us by two different independent people who weren't connected.

These guys know what they are doing. The manager is genuinely interested in you as a family. Every member of her team that we came into contact with was excellent. The housekeeper deserves a special mention as does one of the nurses.

The facilities, look and feel of a place suggests a hotel rather than a care home. The grounds are also always well maintained, which shows from the outside in their care.

Number one on our list of priorities as a family is communication - especially given what have been tough times for everyone recently. Elm Park also excels in that department, which is vital in our eyes.

Overall, if you're reading this review because you're considering where the best place is for your loved one, then look no further. It's a huge decision and not something to be taken lightly!
