Dad was transferred to Hilltop Lodge from hospital with complex needs. The care and support he has received has been excellent. We are very happy and relieved he is at Hilltop Lodge and would have no hesitation in recommending it.

My sister was placed into Hilltop Lodge after an extensive hospital stay to be assessed for ongoing care. Having had no experience or dealing with care homes I was given a lot of useful information and help with make me make the decision to keep my sister at Hilltop Lodge rather than move her somewhere else as she had become used to the staff.

Mum was transferred to Hilltop Lodge directly from the hospital for an assessment period. Her room is bright and sunny with a modern ensuite bathroom. My mum has been unable to access any facilities, but I have seen the lounge and dining room which are bright and airy. Individual staff are friendly and helpful and always willing to help or answer questions.

Very friendly care home. My wife has been a resident since August 2022 and considering her issues has settled with the help of the carers. All the staff are caring and approachable.

A big thank you to all staff and management at Hilltop Lodge. When my dad passed away at Christmas 2021 we were very worried that our mum wouldn't get over it as they had been together for over 60 years.

She still misses him but thanks to the care and attention she has received from Hilltop Lodge including social activities she has found a new motivation and is very happy in her new life. She constantly mentions how lucky she feels to be where she is. Thanks again.

Hilltop Lodge is a great care home. The staff are very friendly and very good at their job. I have full confidence in the home, from the nurses and carers to the house keeping and laundry staff. Please keep up the great job you are all doing.

Overall Experience
Entrusting others with the care of a loved one is certainly no easy decision, but we would have no hesitation in recommending Hilltop Lodge to others requiring its services.
Hilltop Lodge has a relaxed and homely atmosphere, and the staff are consistently friendly, approachable and genuinely compassionate, even when faced with challenging behaviours from some of the residents. The staff are hardworking, dedicated and passionate about their work.
The standard of care is consistently high, and residents are treated with respect and dignity.
In addition to supporting Dad, the staff have supported the wider family, showing understanding, sympathy and genuine care, particularly during a difficult two weeks whilst Dad was receiving end of life care.

The food is home-cooked and plentiful, and the home modern and well maintained with excellent facilities.

I do not recommend this home at all and as a result of that, I give it 1 star.
Due to all experiences, I had when my father was a resident.
No communication .
Constant staff turnover and agency staff employed of very poor standard.
If I could leave zero stars I would.

Management was nonresponsive to any issues I had. They would listen but nothing was done, problems were still ongoing.

I was able to visit my Wife for the first time in 20 weeks after the change in Government guidelines. The booking was easily done online and I received reminders and all relevant information. On arrival, I was taken step by step through the testing procedures and visiting protocol.
My Wife has been in Hilltop Lodge since July and I have not been able to go inside the building due to COVID-19. However what I can say is that I am kept informed of any issues, my Wife always looks clean, tidy and content and you always get the sense that the home is well run and on top of its game.

I have mainly dealt with the same staff throughout this time which is another big plus. Hopefully when restrictions are relaxed completely, family will be able to help take some of the strain off the overworked staff.

My husband was in Hilltop Lodge for only 2 weeks for end of life care. It was a particularly difficult time because of Covid 19. The staff could not have been more kind, considerate or helpful. The Covid security was excellent and it allowed me to be with my husband when he passed away.

Although my mum was only at Hilltop View for a short time before she passed away - her stay there was very comfortable. All the staff that we met were extremely kind and considerate and although we couldn't visit much due to Covid-19, the staff kept us informed reassuring the family of any updates. A big thank you to everyone at Hilltop View.

A very well-run home with caring staff and carers. Could do with a little more activity staff as there's only one at the moment and the residents need activity games etc to happen.

Overall Experience
Overall the care provided at Hilltop Lodge is good, but with room for some improvement.
I feel the new management are working hard to improve the level of care for residents. The manager had organised bi-monthly meetings with relatives which I feel is a positive step and makes relatives feel as if they are being listened to.
The care shown by the majority of the members of staff is very good and they have good relationships with residents.
I do feel that sometimes my mum is not dressed appropriately for the weather, sometimes overdressed for a warm day and vice versa. I feel that her personal care is not always as good as it good be with regard to teeth being brushed and hair washed.
I would also like further access to outside space in warm weather as I feel my mum spends too much time indoors.

However, on the whole, the care is good.
