Hilltop Lodge is situated on a leafy residential street just outside Chapeltown, Sheffield. It provides residential, nursing, respite, dementia and palliative care for up to 61 residents.

The home was refurbished in November 2019 and includes en-suite bedrooms, a restaurant-style dining room and spacious lounge. Meals are nutritionally balanced and prepared in the home’s kitchen. Individual dietary needs are catered for.

Group activities are encouraged, with the home boasting a cinema, hair salon, garden room and café. Each individual can also choose one-to-one activities with the help of a dedicated activities coordinator. There is easy access to bus routes and a railway station.

I do not recommend this home at all and as a result of that, I give it 1 star.
Due to all experiences, I had when my father was a resident.
No communication .
Constant staff turnover and agency staff employed of very poor standard.
If I could leave zero stars I would.
Management was nonresponsive
to any issues I had. They would listen but nothing was done, problems were still ongoing.

I was able to visit my Wife for the first time in 20 weeks after the change in Government guidelines. The booking was easily done online and I received reminders and all relevant information. On arrival, I was taken step by step through the testing procedures and visiting protocol.
My Wife has been
in Hilltop Lodge since July and I have not been able to go inside the building due to COVID-19. However what I can say is that I am kept informed of any issues, my Wife always looks clean, tidy and content and you always get the sense that the home is well run and on top of its game.
I have mainly dealt with the same staff throughout this time which is another big plus. Hopefully when restrictions are relaxed completely, family will be able to help take some of the strain off the overworked staff.

My husband was in Hilltop Lodge for only 2 weeks for end of life care. It was a particularly difficult time because of Covid 19. The staff could not have been more kind, considerate or helpful. The Covid security was excellent and it allowed me to be with my husband when he passed away.

Although my mum was only at Hilltop View for a short time before she passed away - her stay there was very comfortable. All the staff that we met were extremely kind and considerate and although we couldn't visit much due to Covid-19, the staff kept us informed reassuring the family of any updates.
A big thank you to everyone at Hilltop View.

A very well-run home with caring staff and carers. Could do with a little more activity staff as there's only one at the moment and the residents need activity games etc to happen.

Overall the care provided at Hilltop Lodge is good, but with room for some improvement.
I feel the new management are working hard to improve the level of care for residents. The manager had organised bi-monthly meetings with relatives which I feel is a positive step and makes relatives feel as if
they are being listened to.
The care shown by the majority of the members of staff is very good and they have good relationships with residents.
I do feel that sometimes my mum is not dressed appropriately for the weather, sometimes overdressed for a warm day and vice versa. I feel that her personal care is not always as good as it good be with regard to teeth being brushed and hair washed.
I would also like further access to outside space in warm weather as I feel my mum spends too much time indoors.
However, on the whole, the care is good.
