My mother is a resident in Langham Manor Stowmarket. It was her 96th Birthday just one month after being admitted and they couldn't have been lovelier about it. They really went the extra mile to make her feel special, with a cake and decorations. I know my mum is very happy there and all the carers
I have met have been wonderful, patient and caring people. I cannot comment on the food as I have not been there to see it but my mum is happy and is getting what she wants.
Reply from Gaynor Scott, Home Manager at Langham ManorThank you for your kind and thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that your mother had a memorable 96th birthday celebration at Langham Manor. We are committed to providing compassionate and attentive care, and it is wonderful to see these efforts reflected in your feedback. Whenever I visit my Aunt there is always a great welcome, all the staff are very friendly and extremely caring to all the residents. I had to wait while my Aunt was being washed and just watching all the staff I thought how lucky she was. They all had time and a friendly face for everyone even though
they were very busy.

The home itself has been built to a high spec and is always kept clean and is on par with a four-star hotel. The care shown by the staff to residents has been exceptional. The big letdown has been the quality of the food. The advert for the home says fine dining unfortunately the standard has been poor
for the ten months of our family involvement. The management has failed to find kitchen staff of the required standard with a high turnover of staff in the year it's been open. In defence of the current chef, they may be doing their best with the ingredients available. There is regularly a shortage of green vegetables with the main meal. For example this week the option was sausage and chips with peas, but they had run out of peas! How can you run out of peas? Fresh fruit is not readily available in the lounge. For the fees charged the food should be far more nutritious and of a higher standard.
Reply from Ben Maynard, Business Development Manager at Langham ManorThank you for your detailed feedback. We're pleased to hear that you've had a positive experience with the overall care and cleanliness of our home and we appreciate your kind words about our staff's dedication. However, we're truly sorry that the standard of food has not met your expectations. The quality of our meals is a priority, and we regret that this has been an ongoing concern. We are actively working to address staff turnover in the kitchen and improve the standard of dining. Running out of basic items like peas is unacceptable and we understand your frustration with the lack of nutritious options and fresh fruit. These issues will be taken up with the kitchen team and suppliers. We value your feedback and we are committed to making improvements to ensure that our residents receive high-quality, nutritious meals that reflect the level of care we aim to provide. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

An exceptional care home with exceptional management and staff. My mum has been a resident for almost 8 months following a traumatic personal situation and hospitalisation. I cannot praise this home enough and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a brilliant care home for a loved one. They
have gone above and beyond in many ways and on many occasions. Thank you so much, Langham!

Mum has been living at Langham Manor for over 6 months now and every member of staff is so helpful, caring and patient towards her. Her dementia can make her feel anxious and fearful and sometimes she can be more challenging to deal with but the staff always take it in their stride and know the right
things to say to her and how to deal with it.
The home has more of a feel of a hotel than a care home and the lady who sorts out days and entertainment is excellent at getting them out and about which is so important to Mum.
I am very grateful that we have found somewhere that I am confident will look after Mum and make her life as pleasant as possible.
Reply from Gaynor Scott, Manager at Langham ManorThank you for your positive feedback. Langham Manor provided excellent care to my husband whilst he was in for respite care. Staff are caring, considerate and compassionate. They offer excellent support to family too.
The staff from the manager down to all trained staff and carers are so kind. The activity coordinator is amazing, always
encouraging, bright and breezy. Another staff member too has always been so kind to my husband, helping me to keep him active when we attend the coffee mornings. We are always invited to social events regardless of whether he is in for respite at the time or not.

My dear friend, whom I have Power of Attorney for, was transferred from hospital to Langham Manor for end of life care. As a retired nurse and former care home manager myself, I had particularly high expectations of care for my friend; the excellent standard of care she received at Langham Manor far
exceeded my expectations right from the time I was greeted as I arrived by the manager, attention to detail and kindness from all the reception staff, carers, nurses, kitchen staff and the manager to meet my friend's personal choices meant so much to us both, plus all her visitors. Thank you everyone. I can highly recommend the excellent quality of care from staff at Langham Manor.

My dad was at Langham Manor as end of life care. All the staff were so kind and caring, making sure he was comfortable and pain-free at all times. The attention to detail for his birthday was outstanding.

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 registered maximum number of service users is 15, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
