The home is beautiful and well-designed. All the staff and management are very pleasant and caring.

Reply from Gaynor Scott, Manager at Langham Manor

That is very kind of you to compliment Langham on its design, I will pass this onto head office as i am aware that a lot of thought goes into the design in all our Morar care homes around the country. Thank you also for expressing how caring and pleasant we all are here. It costs nothing to be kind and caring and it pleases us that this has come across during your visits.

When told we needed a nursing home for my mum it was a shock and a large undertaking to find one that we would be comfortable with and could cater for her changing needs as her health was going to deteriorate at an unknown pace. We vistited a few, some had wonderful views of the coast but were decorated as though from the 1970's; others were newer but were tired. Then we went to Langham Manor in Stowmarket. Thankfully. The home benefits from several wings, each catering for specific needs, whether its residential, mildly confused or more serious health challenges. My mum had a good sized room, en suite and all was purpose built for its intended use, along with the rest of the facility. Staff are brilliant, and all the care assistants as well as the Medical staff and the housekeeping team too! Food was always fresh and plentiful, all the facilities were clean and welcoming. Only negative, is could do with more parking!

My mother is a resident in Langham Manor Stowmarket. It was her 96th Birthday just one month after being admitted and they couldn't have been lovelier about it. They really went the extra mile to make her feel special, with a cake and decorations. I know my mum is very happy there and all the carers I have met have been wonderful, patient and caring people. I cannot comment on the food as I have not been there to see it but my mum is happy and is getting what she wants.

The home itself has been built to a high spec and is always kept clean and is on par with a four-star hotel. The care shown by the staff to residents has been exceptional. The big letdown has been the quality of the food. The advert for the home says fine dining unfortunately the standard has been poor for the ten months of our family involvement. The management has failed to find kitchen staff of the required standard with a high turnover of staff in the year it's been open. In defence of the current chef, they may be doing their best with the ingredients available. There is regularly a shortage of green vegetables with the main meal. For example this week the option was sausage and chips with peas, but they had run out of peas! How can you run out of peas? Fresh fruit is not readily available in the lounge. For the fees charged the food should be far more nutritious and of a higher standard.

Mum has been living at Langham Manor for over 6 months now and every member of staff is so helpful, caring and patient towards her. Her dementia can make her feel anxious and fearful and sometimes she can be more challenging to deal with but the staff always take it in their stride and know the right things to say to her and how to deal with it.
The home has more of a feel of a hotel than a care home and the lady who sorts out days and entertainment is excellent at getting them out and about which is so important to Mum.

I am very grateful that we have found somewhere that I am confident will look after Mum and make her life as pleasant as possible.

Langham Manor provided excellent care to my husband whilst he was in for respite care. Staff are caring, considerate and compassionate. They offer excellent support to family too.

The staff from the manager down to all trained staff and carers are so kind. The activity coordinator is amazing, always encouraging, bright and breezy. Another staff member too has always been so kind to my husband, helping me to keep him active when we attend the coffee mornings. We are always invited to social events regardless of whether he is in for respite at the time or not.

My father-in-law was taken into Langham Manor on 8th January and ever since has been cared for at the highest standard. The care home is immaculate and all the staff are amazing! They do everything they can to help make my father-in-law comfortable, he says how much he loves the carers and he seems happy too.

My dear friend, whom I have Power of Attorney for, was transferred from hospital to Langham Manor for end of life care. As a retired nurse and former care home manager myself, I had particularly high expectations of care for my friend; the excellent standard of care she received at Langham Manor far exceeded my expectations right from the time I was greeted as I arrived by the manager, attention to detail and kindness from all the reception staff, carers, nurses, kitchen staff and the manager to meet my friend's personal choices meant so much to us both, plus all her visitors. Thank you everyone. I can highly recommend the excellent quality of care from staff at Langham Manor.
