I cannot express enough how grateful we are to have had the pleasure of the staff at Lea Grange Care Home.
The care and respect my father and family members received from the moment our father was accepted into the care of the staff and home was amazing.
During palliative care, my father was in the
best place, where the staff were attentive, and surrounded by his family in a quiet peaceful environment, till my father's passing.
I cannot thank the people who took care of our father and also the family members who also needed support during this difficult time.
Thank you so much, you all have a place in my life, that I will never forget.

My wife needs respite care to overcome recurrent falls and a spell in hospital. Lea Grange Care Home has been totally outstanding in providing this care. The facilities are new and second to none. The staff, including the management team, have gone out of their way to be helpful. The food is tempting
and well presented and the activities organisers have gone out of their way to involve my wife and accommodate her disabilities. Overall 10 out of 10 with no reservation.
Reply from April Parrott-Carter, Home Manager at Lea Grange Care HomeThank you for taking a moment to leave us our first review and a very complimentary one at that! It is a pleasure having your wife with us and assisting in her recovery.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.883) out of 10 for Lea Grange Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.883 for Lea Grange Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (244 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 273 Ratings = 4.883
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lea Grange Care Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hello, my name is Sarah Hall, and I am the Client Services Manager here at Lea Grange.

Having cared for my mother for 17 years, I have first-hand experience looking after individuals living with dementia, and I know how important finding the right care for a loved one is.

I am happily married and have three wonderful sons, and we all enjoy going on holiday and spending time together socialising and entertaining. I am very much a people person and like building relationships. I am also a keen horse lover!
