After struggling to get my mum's hair done, she has dementia and the manager at Mearns House very kindly suggested we use their hairdresser and facilities. The home is beautiful, always spotless and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

This was our first visit with our two children aged five and seven, so we were a little worried about all coming to see Grandma for the first time but how wrong could we be! Special thanks to all the team for their amazing welcome. The lady on reception was fabulous and so kind. A special word to say how amazing the chef was, baking with the children whilst Grandma saw it all. Such a special visit. 100% superb. Well done all.

My mother is extremely we cared for at Mearns House. She is happy, always clean and well dressed. The staff are very attentive and have mum's best interests at heart. They also treat mum with the utmost respect and are genuinely keen to do their very best for her. Mum received personal attention at meal times as she cannot eat without assistance; this can take a considerable amount of time. I cannot recommend Mearns House highly enough. Excellent care.

We would like to extend to the staff of Mearns House grateful thanks for everything they did during our father's stay.
Particularly for the dedication, care and love that we were all shown during his last few days. It was more than 'doing the job', it was a demonstration of the finer qualities of humanity at its very best. Mum was looked after too and supported at all times.
Everyone at Meallmore showed such kindness at a very distressing time and eased every aspect of Dad's move.
Dad's care was exemplary, professional, and consistently above and beyond expectations. He came home on Christmas Day, and your catering team made his 63rd Wedding anniversary very special.

The entire team's response to Dad's final journey from the home moved us immensely. Forming an honour guard as he left was such an act of respect, and has left us with a touching memory at a very difficult time. Thank you so very much for that, and for your immense human warmth over the past 5 months.

I will pass your kind words on to all our staff.

After 4 weeks respite care, my Mum took up permanent residency in December this year. Despite personal issues with her Dementia, she has settled in very quickly and has already made several new friends which has helped smooth the transition into her new home. The staff are all very attentive and Mum often comments on how friendly everyone is. I would certainly recommend Mearns House to anyone looking for a well run, safe environment for an elderly relative.

My mother was admitted seven weeks ago and her transition was aided by kind, caring staff.
She has a beautiful room and enjoys delicious, nutritious meals. She is treated with dignity, respect and attention to detail by all staff.
She was 90 two weeks ago and housekeeping gave her a wonderful afternoon tea and family meal.

So far my family are very impressed with all aspects, especially the friendly staff.

My father spent a few weeks having respite care in Mearns House in March 2017 following a bad fall and spell in hospital. Dad returned home with support but became increasingly frail and decided to go back into Mearns House for respite care. After a few weeks, he felt that longer term care was best.

Dad receives both personal and nursing care is very happy with the care provided in particular the kindness of the staff. As his daughter, my main concern is Dad's safety and well being. I am more than satisfied with how he is being cared for. In the four weeks since he went in Dad's condition has improved mainly due to the excellent care he has received.

If I were a resident in this home I would be very happy.
The staff are all so pleasant and cheery, they spoil us visitors with ever so tempting and so delicious cakes (all home made), compliments to the chef.

Also, the entertainment is so therapeutic, due to most of the residents enjoying the music and singing that they get if I start dancing, myself included. Also, the lady in charge is the person that makes this happen.
