All residents are assessed by the nursing team to establish we can support their physical and emotional needs and that we have a suitable room with the right peer group, whilst maintaining the correct staffing ratio. After this assessment we will then confirm the weekly care fees, which will be inclusive of all care and 'hotel' costs.
These prices are only a guideline, please contact Oakham Grange to find out the exact price for your requirements.
If you chose a care home based in England, you may be eligible for NHS Funded Nursing Care (FNC), which helps cover the cost of nursing. This is worth £254.06 per week and is usually paid directly to the care home.
The home want visiting to be as relaxed as possible, however as a CQC regulated service, sometimes Health Department restrictions may be in place

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, as we know you are a very frequent visitor. Person centred care means breakfast is prepared for your mother at a time she wishes, which we appreciate isn't always a time which works for you. We agree food is really important, which is why all meals here are prepared within the home fresh each day by the Chef led team, a team your mother has regularly complimented. The menu (which always has a minimum of two hot options) is reviewed every 4 weeks to make the most of seasonal changes, however if nothing on it appeals, the team will prepare something else, like an omelette with choice of filling.
Thank you for your review and for sharing your concerns, however in the future please report these straight away to any staff on duty, the Service Manager (or if you prefer to email, their contact details are on their profile picture by the main Household entrance), or to the General Manager whose office is directly opposite the reception signing in desk. The sooner we can hear about niggles, the sooner we can prevent them from turning into problems. Thank you, OG

Hello, my name is Jesamy, and I am the General Manager here at Oakham Grange. I am a Registered Mental Health Nurse, having qualified at Robert Gordon’s University in 2007. I began my career working in Royal Cornhill Hospital in Aberdeen, in a functional assessment ward for those over 65 years of age who were experiencing acute mental health issues. I then moved on to working in a dementia assessment ward, and following that a challenging behaviour ward for gentlemen over the age of 65. Upon my return from maternity leave, I worked in various settings and then moved back home to Rutland where I took up a position as a nurse in a care home. I gained the experience and knowledge required to become the Clinical Lead nurse, which I absolutely loved.
I am so proud to say that I work at Oakham Grange, having been born in Oakham (back when Rutland Memorial Hospital still had a maternity unit and Dr Brentnall was in charge) and bought up in Uppingham. I am passionate about ensuring that we provide the highest standard of care possible to the people of Rutland and beyond. I believe that people should be treated with the same love and care that I would like to see my own family treated with and I strive to make sure that this is the case for all our residents at Oakham Grange.
At the age of 17, I started my Dip H E in adult nursing at Leeds University. I qualified in 1999 and started my first job in nursing in Ward 15 at Glenfield Hospital, which was a rehabilitation ward.
I worked here for 18 months while waiting for a community nursing post to come up as this is what I really wanted to do. I started as a community nurse in April 2001, and this is where I have spent the last 19 years of my career, all in different guises. I was a triage nurse for 18 months for the community and latterly from 2014 worked for a service called ICS. This service was rolled out to provide a multidisciplinary team approach to enable people at home, rather than being admitted to the hospital. I met my 2 colleagues Liz and Chrissy working here approximately 12 years ago and now a new adventure begins for the 3 of us as nurse practitioners working together to provide nursing care at Oakham Grange. This is very exciting!! To be able to work as a professional with friends whom you have the utmost trust and belief in is very special. My aim as a nurse practitioner and Deputy Manager at Oakham Grange is to provide autonomous, person-centred care for our residents.
My Name is Deepu Stephen, a Chef with over 22 years of experience in creating different cuisine (English, continental, Chinese and Indian etc.). My aim at Oakham Grange is to cook exciting and new things for our residents to enjoy every day. I have worked in some of the most prestigious hotels in the world including; Burj Al Arab Dubai, Jumeirah Beech Hotel Dubai, Hilton Bahrain, InterContinental Bahrain and Taj Hotels in Indian. I was awarded Chef of the year Middle East 2006 and a Gold Medal in the Blackbox competition in Australia. I have worked with some of the most well-known chefs around the world including Chef Garry Rhodes and Chef Paul Bocuse to name just a few. I like to spend time with my wife and three children in my spare time and I also run a cooking channel on YouTube.
I am so pleased to have recently joined Oakham Grange as Head Housekeeper. My previous role was in Housekeeping for 11 years at a Therapeutic residential school for boys and girls with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Although this is a change in my work environment, I bring enthusiasm, care, compassion and high standards to this role. I will endeavour to work alongside this great team we have and support the working ethics of Oakham Grange.
My name is Chris Potter
I’m a time-served carpenter of some 40 years, the last 10 being dedicated to working within the care sector. It’s my responsibility to carry out maintenance and regular testing to make Oakham Grange a safe and pleasant place to live. I’m here to make the home personalised and homely for each resident we support.
I live with my partner in Oakham, we moved here 3 years ago to allow us to enjoy life in a rural setting; Oakham gives us all of this and more. We also have an allotment plot where we enjoy growing various things.
