The staff have been thoughtful and helpful throughout these difficult times. I enjoy coming to visit Mum and take her for a walk when I can. Although I have not been able to witness events in person for the last 18 months, it is clear from talking to Mum that she is engaging in and enjoying group activities. Most importantly, Mum seems happy at Parris Lawn.

My sister has been in Parris Lawn nursing home since the start of the lockdown in March 2020.

The staff and support team have shown my sister great care during a very difficult time. The wellbeing team especially make a real difference in spending time sitting and chatting with my sister. This has been even more valuable as we were unable to visit for six months due to the lockdown. The manager of Parris Lawn is very approachable and easy to talk to.

My Mother is so happy and content, it is a joy to see. During lockdown, I get regular photos of her looking lovely and enjoying all sorts of activities despite being wheelchair bound. She loves the cooking, singing, ball games, poetry, music, having tea and cake and chat. She looks forward to the food which is hotel standard. All the staff go the extra mile and are loving to my Mother, even when they are cleaning the rooms or serving food. Everyone from reception to nurses, activity, catering and domestic staff give a great deal to their job.

Referred to this home after a severe fall on my shoulder. Further bad falls while a resident. Rooms and care good to excellent. Most of the carers excellent and the food very good. One or two of the carers tend to ignore contact of resident, which can be infuriating but most of the carers are a delight. Have been very kind to someone who can be a bit testy on occasions, I am well aware.

Care staff are excellent and residents are treated with dignity.

More activities (MOT's) for the nursing floor are needed, but may be due to staffing levels.

Good, clean care home. Staff are very helpful, polite and always try to include my stepfather in all the activities. The cost of the care is a bit on the steep side.

Mum moved to Parris Lawn at the beginning of Apri. It was evident after a couple of walks that she was settled as she felt safe and so her sleep pattern improved greatly. She is enjoying the food with a varied menu. Staff always speak and endeavour to answer any queries. She is enjoying the activities - especially the singing. She always tells others that she is happy here.

Review from Pauline C (Partner of Resident) published on 12 March 2019 Submitted via Postal Card

This home is trying to do its best for people. I find the staff and management kind and helpful especially as they have a complex and difficult person to deal with in the term of my partner. My partner has always been known to all who know him as a complainer and he at times even describes himself as such. The home gives the impression of being a hotel when you enter and I and some of my friends who have visited feel it needs perhaps a more homely feel. They do have good meetings for clients and relations which is good. It usually smells clean and fresh. I tell them if it doesn't.

I do not like being on a corridor where I have to put up with continuous screaming and shouting from people in nearby rooms. My mind is fine and I am confined to my room and chair and like my door open but people with mental problems keep coming into my room, using my toilet, laying on my bed, sitting in my chair, it's just not good enough. I ask for a banana and croissant only for my breakfast and seldom get what I ask for, I also get food I have not asked for covered in various sauces which I've said I don't like. Most of the staff are nice but there are not enough of them. I am most unhappy.
