My mum has been in the care of Primrose House for just under 3 years. She has been treated with dignity and care. The bedroom is a home from home. The care team are kind, the food is amazing, and they really understand my mum's needs. I would highly recommend this home for anyone looking for a new home, where you can trust in the care of your loved one.

Our dad has been in Primrose House for a few years now. There were some problems with different managers and staff to begin with but the way it is run now is pretty darn good. Management always listen if we have a problem and the regular staff that know our dad well are patient with him and will have a chat and a laugh with him.

My mother has been with Primrose house since January and it has given her and the family more confidence knowing that she is being kept safe 24 hours a day. Kathy the manager is always approachable for any support and guidance along with her wonderful team of care workers. My mother feels blessed that she is in a 'safe place'. We can't thank this Care home enough we are all so grateful.

My wife is not the person I married over 60 years ago, prior to the last 2 and a half years she was the most caring and nice individual. I am right in saying that her manner has not been the same since from almost day one when she was upset because of the loss of dignity through being washed, etc., and the hoist was never to her liking, and because of this she has been bedbound for most of her time at the home. The staff are an excellent bunch, and they have done their utmost to make her stay ok. All I can say is that dementia is a horrible mind-changing illness.

Dad has been at Primrose House over a year now. He receives excellent care, including the additional care needed after a couple of short hospital stays. In addition to this, he is treated like family. The team find time to chat with him, listen to his stories about his life, laugh at his jokes and go the extra mile by remembering how he likes things done. It is a great comfort knowing he is happy and well cared for

My father in law moved to the care home from Northern Ireland in the autumn. He was eager to return to to the area after being unwell, and wanting to be closer to his family. Everyone has made him very welcome and made the transition into a new environment very easy. All relevant and essential assessments have been made and his care is timely and appropriate. I can only give praise to all concerned with his care. I have found managers and carers very approachable, caring and professional and couldn't wish for a better place for my father in law to be.

My mother had a serious stroke in may 2024 and was told she wasn't able to return home due to our current property not being suitable so my mother had to go to a care home. I asked to view a couple of care homes and when I asked to view Primrose House I was very optimistic as I've always had a bad experience with other care homes but primrose have been absolutely brilliant. When I came to view Primrose I was welcomed by the Manager she made me feel very welcome she showed me round the home, she showed me my mum's room she introduced me to all staff on shift I even got to see what sort of foods they serve in the care home and what the atmosphere is like during lunch time and I honestly couldn't be happier. She made me feel at ease with placing mum here and I don't regret my decision, she is amazing she adores all residents and really does have the home at heart. Nothing is never to much trouble the care staff are all amazing. Can't fault anyone. Thank you for everything you have done.

We can not praise the staff enough, they are caring, and professional and have taken time to learn about our father and his needs. They have kept the family up to date with any areas of concern and have involved other professionals with further assessment of his needs.
Our father is given everything you would hope for in a caring environment, the food is excellent and he thoroughly enjoys his meals, he is living in a bright clean home with a warm friendly atmosphere, and everyone is so welcoming. Placing a loved one in a care home comes with many mixed emotions but having seen how well he has settled and the level of care he is being delivered makes the experience so much easier. We would highly recommend Primrose House.

This year, our father turned 102. Primrose House organised an amazing afternoon birthday celebration for him with a good sing-along to a brass and Ukulele band. There were decorations and cakes galore. They even arranged for a representative from the mayor's office to attend. A special thanks to their entertainment lady for all her hard work. The fact our father reached 102 is a reflection on the care he receives at the home. The staff are very conscientious and caring and any medical needs are dealt with promptly and efficiently.mWe couldn't have hoped for a better care home for our dad. A big thank you to all the lovely staff at Primrose House.

Mum has a lovely room surrounded with family photos, that they hung for me, to make sure there is always a familiar face around that she recognises. It’s always very clean and Mum always looks well dressed, this is something that she has always prided herself on, so it’s nice to see the staff have thought about this.
The only negative thing I can say is that sometimes they are a little short staffed, usually this is with staff not turning up for work but everyone pulls together to make sure the residents are happy.

The food looked delicious and Dad was always kept nice and clean, as was his room.
Some of the residents displayed challenging behaviour which the staff handled with understanding and compassion.
Management was approachable and responsive to our family's concerns, It was unfortunate that the activities coordinator was on long-term sick leave and the outdoor space, which eventually be lovely, was a work in progress.

I have visited Primrose House a few times to see an elderly distant friend. On the specific occasion, it was a celebration of her 100th birthday and I represented an old long long-standing friend of the residence. They had known each other very well for over 60 years and worked together in education. The staff and management went to great lengths to make the afternoon celebration pleasurable and memorable. As a visitor, I was made very welcome. I was impressed by the level of care.
