Thank you for your kind words. It is lovely to read about how well your mum is being looked after at The Lilacs and how great the care team there are. I have to address the suggestion that we are ever short staffed at The Lilacs. If we were short staffed we would likely not be able to deliver the high quality of service that your mum is benefitting from. Our care home managers have full control over staffing levels and our rota is created in line with the care needs of the residents living there at any given time. We have comprehensive back-up contracts in place with agency providers should we ever find our in house team unable to fill the rota (short term absence sickness or longer term recruitment gaps). The rota meets the care needs of our residents and our care fees are calculated in accordance with those care needs. Extra care hours could be provided, but at extra cost. I am surprised and concerned to read that you / your wife is / are unhappy with the quality of the food. I know we have gone to great lengths to ensure that we source the very best food options available - best for quality, choice and ability to tailor to the specific needs of our residents - bespoke diets for nutritional value, for allergy issues, for consistency (in relation to ease of chewing / swallowing) etc. Please do arrange to meet with our registered manager at The Lilacs to discuss any concerns that you may have - again - I was very actively involved in sourcing the very best food provision and consider it to be an area in which we excel. Good afternoon Jacqueline N. Thank you for taking the time to leave this detailed feedback of your experience - and that of your mother in law - at Dove Tree House in Exeter. It's lovely to read how Sarah takes time with your mother in law to help her to settle and how she has been supportive to you as a family. Noting observations about weekends. The Manager and Deputy Manager roles are very busy and carry a lot of responsibility - they do tend to work Monday to Friday and then have weekends to recuperate - with some weekends also covered to ensure that they have good visibility of Saturday and Sunday operations. That being said, as you say, our Senior Carers on duty at weekends are always very experienced and competent. The company operates an 'on call' cover rota at weekends so that care home teams have further senior support on hand if needed.
