The Manor Exminster is a grand 17th century Georgian listed manor house that is situated in half an acre of grounds, in the pretty village of Exminster.

The property was built by the diocese of Exeter for the local Rector and his family. The home was converted into a residential care home in the mid-80s and an extension was added in 2004 that added a state of the art kitchen, more bedrooms and increased the size of the dining room.

Residents are encouraged to relax in privacy and dignity at this friendly residential care home.

It's really nice to read that you feel our Care Team are 'very good' and 'always ready to help'. I note that you have rated three items as only 3-Stars. We are keen to always be 5 star and perhaps on occasion 4 - but never 3 or less:) Please could I ask that you talk to the Care Home Manager, Dawn, with any concerns with regards to cleanliness and the room. Value for money is always going to be a very subjective issue - knowing the costs involved in care provision I am confident that we (and the vast majority of good care homes in the country) provide exceptional value for money. The issue may be more that care provision costs a lot of money - we all agree with that - but in terms of value for money I don't think many other products come close:) Kindest regards

My auntie arrived in this home a couple of weeks ago from hospital, the staff are very attentive to her needs and she seems to be settling in well. They provide entertainment, some she maybe joins in, others she just listens in on what's going on, she is partially sighted. I visit my friends in homes
and this is a good one.

I continue to be deeply impressed by this Care Home. The new Manager, has been hugely helpful in addressing any needs my mother has. The rest of the team are brilliant and compassionate and deliver excellent quality care. My mother's quality of life has improved so much since she moved in to the Manor.
We appreciate particularly how personalised the care is and how residents are celebrated as 'whole people' with all their different life experiences. Birthdays at the Manor are truly a celebration. Thank you all for all you do.

We visited my brother-in-law this weekend. He appears frail but in better health than before he became a resident at The Manor. I appreciate that it might be difficult to manage, but it would be good for him to be taken outside for fresh air as a change of scenery sometimes. The staff seemed friendly
and respectful. This is very much appreciated.

We certainly do encourage our residents to go outside to enjoy the secure garden area or the central courtyard where many enjoy being involved with growing plants in the raised beds. The Manor also has the ability to book one of the two company mini busses throughout the year. Please do speak with the Care Home Manager if you have any concerns that your brother-in-law may not be getting as much opportunity to spend time outside as he would like. The Manor do a fantastic job of caring for my Grandmother, she is always very happy and the home itself is clean and warm, the staff are attentive and friendly to not only the residents but all visitors to the home.

She is becoming far less mobile than she was a year ago. She is forgetting more stuff and is chairbound. I think the residents would all benefit from daily chair-based exercises - arms, legs, neck, back - to strengthen and aid circulation and mobility. The staff are kind and helpful.

I note your comments with regards to your friend's declining mental and physical condition. In all of our homes we offer a full schedule of activities, these include mobility based events - some specifically mobility-focused and others where mobility is a secondary benefit i.e. gardening, games etc. We also encourage residents to be as independent as possible and will encourage them to walk, carry out personal care etc themselves as far as it is safe to do so. We are also, of course, in regular contact with outside care professionals in relation to all of our residents' care needs. If you have any particular concerns please do, of course, speak to our Care Home Manager and we may be able to update the bespoke care package. My mother continues to be very happy at The Manor. She enjoys the varied activities on offer. We always are very welcomed by the staff and kept updated regarding her health. Her room is kept spotlessly clean. I would recommend The Manor for any future residents. My mother has lived here for 14 years
now!
