My mum has been at The Manor for the last six months and is very happy. The staff are all friendly, very patient and are lovely with her. They are happy to chat to me anytime I have a query. My mum really loves the entertainment that is provided during the week and thoroughly enjoys it when the entertainer visits. During these sessions, they often sing, quiz, play games or participate in craft projects. It is the highlight of her week! I feel she is well looked after here and enjoy my visits to see her.
It has been a really positive experience for both mum and us and in her words "she loves it".
Good afternoon MW. Thank you for taking the time to write and publish this fantastic review of your experience with our Care Team and Care Home at The Manor in Exminster. It's great to hear that your mum's condition has improved since she moved into The Manor. It's great that she is more animated...
There is a friendly, open feel to the Manor. Staff are polite, professional and helpful. Recent changes to staffing have resulted in a new, dynamic with the greater emphasis on interaction and stimulation of residents. As a former carer, I believe this is a very hard environment to work within and I applaud the Manor for the care they provide.

My mother has been living at The Manor for over a year. She settled well and is very happy. The staff are wonderful and very caring. My mother is obviously very fond of all of the staff and they are very fond of her. It is a lovely, caring, supportive atmosphere. I also feel very supported and look forward to visiting. All the friends and relatives that I have taken to visit have been very impressed with the happy, friendly atmosphere. The manager is very 'hands on' and is always available for a chat. She is very enthusiastic and efficient. I am confident that my mother is being cared for well, and that she is safe and happy. I am glad I found The Manor!
Good morning Judith. Many thanks for taking the time to write and post this lovely review of your own (and your mum's) experiences at our care home The Manor in Exminster. It's always really nice to get feedback such as this as it's a great way of recognising the hard work that our care teams put...
My step-mother's transition from home to The Manor Exminster was handled slowly and carefully. There had been serious safety issues while she was living alone in her own home due to her dementia as well as blindness from glaucoma. She had no insight into her condition, was wandering into town at night, leaving gas taps on and was losing weight, so the family had to make the decision for her to be cared for in a residential home. She was admitted with minimum disruption and the staff helped her to settle down in a remarkably short time. I feel confident she is warm, fed and well cared for physically, emotionally and socially. We are all very relieved and grateful to the manager and the staff.
Good morning Sharyn O - thank you for taking the time to write and post this review. It's a lovely story to read and we're all really proud of the role that the Care Team at The Manor has played in it. Moving into a care home is frequently a stressful process for residents and family and friends...
She enjoys the activities, food and help from the staff.

If it were not for the superlative quality of care that my aunt has received, following breaking her hip in May, I very much doubt that she would have been able to be there to celebrate her 100th birthday and enjoy the day. My gratitude and thanks to everyone in the team who has contributed to her turn around in health and well being.
Hello Barbara S. Thank you for taking the time to write and publish this review of our Care Team and Care Home at The Manor in Exminster. And what a lovely story - congratulations to your aunt on her recovery and achieving the 100 years milestone - both very impressive feats!
The team at The Manor have made my grandparents feel very much at home and comfortable. They look after individual needs and you can tell that the team enjoy what they do and it makes such a difference. Both my gran and grandad very much enjoy being at The Manor and have seen a big improvement in them and the home since the new manager took over.

I am likely to recommend The Manor to others and have done in the past. My mother has been there for two years and is happy and well looked after. Since the current manager took over it has been a pleasure to visit and my mother's care has been a lot more consistent.

The Manor is located in a pleasant village setting with plenty of opportunities for quiet walks and local outings. The care my mother receives is excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the home provides many opportunities to socialise and take part in daily activities. A community hall in the village serves as a welcome second venue for such events, offering an opportunity to interact more widely with the world. Families are always welcomed warmly and encouraged to take part in the daily schedule. Menus are set, but the staff are always open to providing alternatives when residents feel peckish outside of regular mealtimes. The C18th building seems to be being maintained reasonably well, though the home is on two floors with only one stair-lift between them. If you're on the second floor it can be a bit of a wait to get up and down. The windows are also old and heavy, which makes opening them a little difficult. All in all though, The Manor seems very well managed.

Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.
Mum is very happy here and always praises the staff for being so nice.
Food appears to be very good and offers a varied and flexible menu.
Anything can be delivered to the room whenever required within reason.
Cleanliness and hygiene are of a good standard and facilities are excellent.
Mum would like a few more activities at times but it seems many residents are reluctant or unable to join in.

He took a while to adjust to the new situation but with support from the staff, he made the transition well.

Good afternoon L.E. - Thank you for taking the time to write and publish this review of your experience (and that of your mum) at our Care Home 'The Manor' in Exminster. We're really pleased to have a great Care Team at The Manor and it's great when their hard work attracts public recognition such as yours. Kindest regards.
My mother has lived at The Manor since June 2015. When selecting The Manor the choice was based on a number of reasons eg: the wonderful homely atmosphere, the rooms and clean facilities plus the home cooking! I must say that I didn't it could be improved but have recently noticed a stronger leadership with some exciting new ideas re entertainment etc. I Like the new arrangement - swopping the dining room with the lounge. The newsletter is great too! When I said 'good-bye' to mum a couple of days ago she said 'I love it here, I want to live here forever'!
Good morning Heather H. Firstly our thanks to you for taking the time to write and publish such a fantastic review of your own and your mums experiences at The Manor. We're all really pleased that you and your mum have been so happy at The Manor since June 2015 - the parting comment from your mum is indeed wonderful to hear.
After moving my mother from an excellent care home in Hampshire at one stage we were considering finding an alternative home, but since the new manager has taken over things have changed, activities have been arranged a choice of meals are now available and generally things have improved. Mother seems much happier now and we feel no need to move her.
Hello Robert P. Many thanks for taking the time to write and publish this review of The Manor. We hear what you say, finding the right manager for a care home is a difficult task and one that it pays to take time to get right - we have done that and in our new manager, we believe we have the right...
My grandmother became a resident of the Manor in December 2015. The care she has received since then is first class. She and I are delighted with the Manor. The food, care and activities are catered specifically to the elderly with dementia tendencies. I would highly recommend the Manor.
Hello Hannah M. Many thanks for taking the time to write and publish this review. We're all delighted that both you and your mum are delighted with The Manor - that's what we aim for. It's great for everybody's moral (most importantly our care team members) when reviews such as this are made public.
