My mother has been a resident here for 15 months; she is very happy there and says she feels safe and well looked after. The management has had a few staff changes, but the people that remain there are great; they always listen to family feedback and are engaged and dedicated in their resident...

Dove Tree has shown kindness and good care towards my mother in law, the placement was initially temporary to ascertain her abilities and needs. Dove Tree are responsive, supportive, caring & kind. Sarah, the deputy manager is instrumental in supporting Mother's needs, her personality type, quirks and understandable fears and devastation she felt at the realisation that she would not return home. Sarah regularly spends time calming down repeat upsets as Mother settles and is very hands on with any concerns. She has also been extremely supportive to us as a family and advised accurately on the minefield of Local Authority processes. In general all staff are very kind and attentive. The only minor comment we would make about improvements is senior staff / Management cover over the weekend. This is not to suggest that staff lack direction on weekends (far from it ) but it is not possible to receive management led responses or reassurances over the weekend.

Good afternoon Jacqueline N. Thank you for taking the time to leave this detailed feedback of your experience - and that of your mother in law - at Dove Tree House in Exeter. It's lovely to read how Sarah takes time with your mother in law to help her to settle and how she has been supportive to you as a family. Noting observations about weekends. The Manager and Deputy Manager roles are very busy and carry a lot of responsibility - they do tend to work Monday to Friday and then have weekends to recuperate - with some weekends also covered to ensure that they have good visibility of Saturday and Sunday operations. That being said, as you say, our Senior Carers on duty at weekends are always very experienced and competent. The company operates an 'on call' cover rota at weekends so that care home teams have further senior support on hand if needed. Any non-emergency questions can be passed to our Managers or Deputy Managers so that can contact you on the Monday. Kindest regards, Nathan

I note the point raised about the front door - and I have indeed experienced that myself whilst visiting Dove Tree. The care team do, of course, have to prioritise residents care and they may all be busy. Nonetheless, I will mention this again to Mary and Sarah. Also noted the 3 stars for cleanliness - we're only ever happy with5 stars for cleanliness - I will ask Mary and Sarah to look into this - and please - if ever you are at Dove Tree and have any concerns - please do let Mary and / or Sarah know - they can then be dealt with straight away. The televisions in our rooms are all smart so can access the homes WiFi so are able to log in to these services. It's lovely to read that your dad enjoys the food and says it is good. Yes, with the better weather we are looking forward to seeing the mini bus used more often this summer - we have also recently had success in finding a driver - this has been particularly difficult of late and a great frustration to us all! The care home always gives you a warm welcome when you visit it dos not matter whoever opens the door it is always a friendly smile. l have always found the staff caring and loving to the residents they go above and beyond what they need to do. It stems right from the Manger, Deputy Manager right down to the care workers. Praise should also go to the cleaners as the home is always very clean. The activities they do with the residents is very good and varied. At meal times they always get a varied menu.
